After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 690: Chapter 694: The Wedding of the Century [1]

When Leng Zirui and the three others returned to the castle, Leng Zimo, Luo Xiaoqian, and Leng Lin were all waiting in the living room on the first floor.

Shen Yizhou hurried to fetch the medical kit to treat Tong Ya’s wounds, and Leng Zirui briefly explained the situation to the two, ”I’ve already contacted the Chinese representatives of this event, asking them to get in touch with the Marseille Police. We’ll definitely find her.”

Leng Zimo nodded in agreement.

”Um...” Luo Xiaoqian hesitated for a moment, speaking softly, ”Thank you all for your hard work, and... Tomorrow is Qin Lan and Ruoruo’s big day, I wouldn’t want to cause any trouble for their wedding.”

Her gaze fell on Huangfu Ao, her voice full of apology, ”Huangfu, I’m sorry.”

Huangfu Ao’s gaze fell gently on her face, ”We’re all family here, there’s no need to be so formal, Qin Lan and Ruoruo won’t mind.”

Buzz!

The vibration of Leng Zirui’s phone interrupted the moment, as he took it out to look at the unfamiliar number on the screen. With a puzzled expression, he answered the call, drawing everyone’s attention towards him.

After listening for a while, Leng Zirui started speaking in French with the other party. After a few sentences, he hung up the phone.

”That was a call from the Marseille Police station. Our people have already been in contact with them. The Marseille Police are now in action. I’m going to send a photo of Xu Pei to their email to facilitate the search,” he said as he got up. Smiling at Luo Xiaoqian, he reassured her, ”Xiao Qian, don’t worry, I’ll leave everything in the capable hands of the Marseille Police. Tomorrow, you and your brother just focus on being the best man and maid of honor while we all make sure Qin Lan and Huangfu Ruo’s wedding goes perfectly. I promise, nothing will go wrong!”

”Right!” Shen Yizhou, having finished bandaging Tong Ya’s wounds, chimed in, ”This wedding won’t be affected in the slightest.”

The maid came to invite everyone to the dining room for dinner. Huangfu Ao cast a puzzled glance around, ”Where’s Ruoruo, and Qin Lan too? Why are they nowhere to be seen?”

”Ruoruo is sleeping upstairs, and Qin Lan is keeping watch by her side. He won’t come downstairs until she wakes up,” said Leng Zimo as he stood up. ”Let’s eat.”

Everyone sensed the underlying meaning in his words and without further question, moved together into the dining room for dinner...

...

...

Upstairs.

There were no lights on in the master bedroom, just the faint moonlight streaming through the window, casting a hazy glow across the room.

Qin Lan sat on a chair by the bed, elbow propped on the mattress, his face turned towards Huangfu Ruo.

In this way, as soon as she opened her eyes, she’d see him first.

He had been sitting like that for over two hours, like a statue.

The woman before him would become his wife tomorrow, just the thought filled him with happiness.

On the pillow, Huangfu Ruo inhaled gently and slowly opened her eyes.

Seeing the dim outline of Qin Lan’s face, she raised her eyebrows in confusion, ”Qin Lan?”

”You’re awake,” Qin Lan said as he picked up the glass with a straw from the bedside table, bringing it to her lips, ”Have a sip of water to moisten your throat.”

Huangfu Ruo took in a sip of water and was about to sit up.

”Don’t move!” Qin Lan pressed her shoulders back down and set the glass back on the table, ”Don’t rush to get up. Lie down, and listen to me for a moment.”

Huangfu Ruo frowned, looking at his face. In the dimly lit room, his face wore an expression of unusual seriousness and formality.

What... was he about to tell her?!

Could it be that he was about to lay things out on the table... to cancel the wedding?!
