After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 657: Chapter 661 Frying Xu Pei Squid [2]

Yu Tong immediately stood up, ”Gao Jie, quickly bring over the lunch, and also, prepare a cup of warm milk for Xiao Qian. Remember to heat it up. Lin Ye, go buy Xiao Qian a thermos cup. With her current condition, she can’t drink cold water anymore. Also, prepare some nutritious dried fruits and snacks like preserved plums to ensure she can eat whenever she wants. The little baby must not lack nutrition...”

”You’re so professional, Yu Tong. Have you had a child?” Gao Jie asked while fetching the lunch.

”Get out of here, you’re the one who has had kids!” Yu Tong gave her a dismissive glance. ”Even if I haven’t eaten pork, haven’t I seen pigs run? When my sister had her baby the year before last, my brother-in-law was away on business. It was I who took care of her. Xiao Qian, rest assured, I’ll make sure both you and the little baby are well-nourished and chubby.”

At this point, she hurriedly stood up again.

”Oh right, I need to check the work schedule and reduce your workload once more. That radio carnival thing, you’re not going anymore, and the opening ceremony out of town, you’re not going to that either. I can’t have our little Bao Bao’s celebrity mom getting tired...”

Yu Tong walked to one side to make a phone call, Lin Ye went to buy the thermos cup, and Gao Jie brought the lunch to Xiao Qian’s side, and also fetched her a box of milk, inserting the straw.

”Xiao Qian, time to eat.”

Luo Xiaoqian said thanks, then took out her phone from her bag to call Xu Xia.

This was her only good friend; for such an important matter, she naturally wanted to share it with her.

On the other end of the phone, Xu Xia was performing out of town.

When the call went through, she had already finished her makeup and was waiting in her dressing room to go on stage. Seeing Luo Xiaoqian’s call, she immediately picked up.

”Dear, is it that your Majesty is away on a trip again, and you’re feeling lonely, that’s why you’ve thought of me?!” As soon as she answered the call, she teased.

”Xu Xia, I have something to tell you, I... I’m pregnant,” said Luo Xiaoqian’s voice over the phone.

Hearing the word ”pregnant,” Xu Xia suddenly stood up from her chair, and her voice instantly rose two octaves, ”Really?!”

Luo Xiaoqian moved her phone slightly away from her ear, ”Keep it down, we haven’t planned to reveal this yet.”

”Got it, got it.” Xu Xia immediately lowered her volume. ”It’s okay, no one’s here. I’m in the makeup room getting ready. I have a performance soon. How are you feeling right now, any nausea?”

”A little bit, not too bad,” said Luo Xiaoqian, taking a sip of her milk. ”You’re busy, I won’t disturb you. Just remember, you’re the only one who knows about this. You mustn’t let it slip.”

”Alright, in a couple of days I’ll be back in Beijing, and then I’ll treat you, the soon-to-be-mother, to a big meal. I can’t talk anymore, it’s almost time for my performance, I’m hanging up!” Xu Xia hung up hastily.

As Luo Xiaoqian continued with her meal, Yu Tong came over. ”Should we notify Director Xu and Ya Nan about this?”

After all, as part of a team, Luo Xiaoqian changing her work plans should provide them with a reason.

Xu Pei?!

Taking a bite of a green vegetable, Luo Xiaoqian shook her head slightly, ”Let’s not tell them for now, just say I’m not feeling well and need to reduce my workload.”

Knowing what Xu Pei had done to her, Luo Xiaoqian already harbored a grudge against her, and naturally, she didn’t want to share this news with her either.

”Okay.”

Yu Tong just thought she wanted to keep the matter confidential for the time being and didn’t inquire further. She immediately agreed.
