After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 667: Chapter 671: Childhood Betrothal [2]

”You keep horses?” Luo Xiaoqian asked in astonishment.

”Of course, what kind of ancient castle would it be without horses?!” Huangfu Ruo said proudly, ”Let me tell you, we ride in a horse carriage when we go to church, just like medieval princes and princesses.”

It wasn’t just Luo Xiaoqian who got excited, even Tong Ya perked up and immediately went downstairs with the other two to see the horses.

In the blink of an eye, dusk had arrived, and the maids had prepared dinner, inviting everyone to eat. Leng Zimo walked into the dining room and immediately saw Luo Xiaoqian, he right away asked the maid in French.

”The three young ladies have gone horseback riding!”

Upon hearing the word ’horseback riding,’ both Leng Zimo and Qin Lan’s faces turned pale. They immediately rose from their chairs, ran out of the dining room, and sprinted to the stable at the back. They barged in, and each gathered one in their arms, carrying the reading Luo Xiaoqian and Huangfu Ruo out of the stable and all the way back to the dining room.

”What are you doing?!” Huangfu Ruo’s little face was full of displeasure.

”Didn’t we agree that you shouldn’t ride horses?” Qin Lan said softly.

”We were just looking; we weren’t planning to ride,” Luo Xiaoqian hurriedly explained.

Before she could finish, Leng Zimo had already taken over the conversation, speaking authoritatively, ”Even looking is not allowed. What if Ruo gets kicked, bumped, or hurt?”

At Leng Zimo’s words, Huangfu Ruo just chuckled, ”Hah, I thought Qin Lan was overprotective enough, but I didn’t expect Brother Zimo to be even more so. Xiao Qian, I deeply sympathize with you.”

Luo Xiaoqian lifted the corners of her lips, ”They’re also doing it for our good, watching horses is indeed quite dangerous.”

”Did you hear that? Xiao Qian is much more sensible than you,” Qin Lan immediately seized the example, starting the ”Mama Leng safety education” for Huangfu Ruo, ”From now on, you too stay away from the stables.”

”Luo Xiaoqian, I BS you!” Huangfu Ruo rolled her eyes at Luo Xiaoqian, but seeing Leng Zimo bringing her a sliced steak, she immediately looked at Qin Lan, ”Hey, Qin Lan, did you see that? Brother Zimo is a role model for doting on a wife. Come on, cut my steak for me, I want pieces no bigger than one centimeter.”

”You four, can’t you stop showing off your love? It won’t kill you!” Leng Zirui lifted his glass, ”Here, I propose a toast, cheers everyone!”

”Cheers!”

...

Everyone raised their glasses, clinking them together.

Of course, for the two expectant mothers and for Leng Lin, their glasses could only be filled with fresh fruit juice.

After dinner, Shen Yizhou took Leng Lin upstairs for his daily routine check to ensure his blood pressure and heartbeat were stable. Only then did everyone scatter to do their own things.

Leng Zirui, along with Shen Yizhou and Tong Ya, were playing bridge with Leng Lin, while Huangfu Ruo, who originally wanted to chat with Luo Xiaoqian, was taken away by Qin Lan. Leng Zimo then took Luo Xiaoqian for a walk by the river.

By the end of August in Marseille, although the daytime could be quite hot, the nights were extremely refreshing.

Here, far from the hustle and bustle of the city, walking by the river, one could clearly hear the chirping of insects in the grass.

Next to the riverbed, there were even fireflies dancing.

Fearing she might get tired, Leng Zimo took out a handkerchief from his pocket and spread it over a rock on the riverbank, carefully helping her to sit.

Luo Xiaoqian looked around, admiring the ancient castle beneath the starry sky, and exclaimed sincerely, ”It’s really beautiful!”

”I heard there’s another ancient castle nearby. Do you want to go see it?” Leng Zimo raised his hand to point to a grove not far ahead, ”Just past the grove and you’ll be able to see it.”

”Really? Let’s go have a look then,” Luo Xiaoqian said, immediately standing up.
