After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 653: Chapter 657 The older, the wiser [3]

Luo Xiaoqian hurriedly spoke up, ”No, Uncle Leng, it isn’t that serious, don’t imagine the worst!”

”Enough, don’t cover it up. Uncle Leng might be old, but these eyes can still see that something’s off, you’re almost breaking out in sweat from nervousness.” Leng Lin’s demeanor was, on the contrary, calmer than hers, ”Tell me, I can really take it.”

Leng Lin was no ordinary man, with years of experience and insight into people, he had already sensed that something was amiss.

”Alright, I’ll tell you the truth then.” Luo Xiaoqian put down the pastries in her hand, ”It really isn’t as serious as you think, it’s just that Dr. Shen doesn’t like your lab results and wants to do a kidney biopsy to be cautious, fearing that you won’t agree, so he asked me to come in and talk to you. You definitely don’t have cancer or anything terminal, I assure you, not half a word I have said is false.”

”I agree.”

”What?” Luo Xiaoqian was a bit slow to react.

”I agree to have the biopsy done,” Leng Lin said with a gentle smile. ”I also believe you haven’t lied. Go on, call them in, all of them, not a single one left out, I know, they’re all outside the door.”

”Okay.” Luo Xiaoqian agreed and stood up, walked a couple of steps, then stopped, ”Could you... could you please not get angry at them, for the sake of me and Xiao Bao, spare them this time?!”

Leng Lin laughed heartily, ”Alright! For you and the baby’s sake, I’ll forgive them this time.”

”Thank you, Uncle Leng.” Luo Xiaoqian felt relieved.

”This ’Uncle Leng’ of yours, isn’t it about time to change how you address me?” Leng Lin asked.

Luo Xiaoqian looked down, ”Zimo and I haven’t had our wedding yet!”

”Go ahead.” Leng Lin waved his hand lightly.

Luo Xiaoqian immediately felt a weight lifted and turned to leave the ward, coming to the door she opened it and walked out.

The few people outside immediately crowded around her.

”Xiao Qian, how did it go?” Leng Zimo was the first to speak.

”Uncle Leng agreed.”

”What did I say, when Xiao Qian steps in, it’s as good as two,” Leng Zirui immediately gave a thumbs up.

Luo Xiaoqian waved her hands in a hurry, ”It’s not my credit.”

”Right, it’s not your credit, it’s my grandnephew’s credit,” Leng Zirui smirked.

”It’s not him either...” Luo Xiaoqian smiled helplessly, ”Nevermind, just follow me in, Uncle Leng said he wants all of you to go in, not a single one missing.”

Upon hearing this, everyone’s expression changed at once.

Leng Zirui wanted to say something more, but the door to the ward had already been pulled open from the inside.

Leng Lin cast a stern glance over the young people, ”What, Xiao Qian’s invitation isn’t enough, you need me to personally invite you in?”

”Of course not!” Leng Zirui immediately put on a flattering smile, ”We were just about to head in, weren’t we?”

Luo Xiaoqian hurried over, took hold of his arm, and helped Leng Lin back into the ward, where he resumed his seat on the hospital bed, surrounded by the group standing by the bed.

”Isn’t there a mission with the troops, why are you still here?” Leng Lin looked sternly at Leng Zirui and, without waiting for him to speak, turned to Tong Ya, ”And you, Girl Tong, didn’t you say you had to go back to the company for a meeting?!”

”We were just waiting to leave with Xiao Qian, right, Xiao Qian?” Leng Zirui quickly sought backup.

”Enough!” Leng Lin glared at him, ”Stop trying to smoke-screen, your vanguard has already been exposed.”

Leng Zirui pouted, ”Xiao Qian, your cover was really too weak, wasn’t it?”
