After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 651: Chapter 655 The older, the wiser

Shen Yizhou lifted his hand to glance at his wristwatch, ”It’s about time, the lab results should be out...”

As soon as he finished speaking, there was a knock on the office door.

Shen Yizhou walked over to open the door, and the assistant physician standing outside handed over a stack of documents, ”Director Shen, here are Mr. Leng’s lab results.”

”Thank you.”

Shen Yizhou thanked them, took the report, closed the door, went to his desk, and began to carefully review the lab and exam reports laid out on his table.

Leng Zimo came over and stood beside him, frowning as he waited for Shen Yizhou to finish reading the reports.

It wasn’t until Shen Yizhou raised his hand and lightly rubbed his chin that he spoke again.

”How is it?”

”From the current situation, the problem isn’t too serious. There is indeed some pathology on the kidney, but it hasn’t progressed to severe kidney failure yet,” Shen Yizhou said, though his expression didn’t relax, ”However, the presence of blood and protein in the urine sample cannot be ignored. I suggest that it would be best to perform a kidney biopsy, just in case. Pathological changes on the kidney take time to manifest. A biopsy is the most direct method.”

As friends for many years, there wasn’t a need for too much explanation.

Leng Zimo was clear that if it wasn’t necessary, Shen Yizhou would definitely not make such a suggestion.

After a moment of thought, he already nodded in agreement, ”Okay, you arrange it.”

Shen Yizhou nodded gently, ”It’s just a minor procedure, but as for Uncle Leng’s side of things, that work is up to you.”

For something like a blood test, any excuse could be used to gloss over it, but a kidney biopsy, albeit a very minor procedure, was still surgery. If they couldn’t prepare Leng Lin for it, then it couldn’t be done.

Before Leng Zimo could speak, the office door was pushed open again. This time, Leng Zirui walked in.

He didn’t know what the two were discussing, but as he entered, he immediately came over to them, ”How is it?”

”There hasn’t been a major incident yet. Yizhou suggests a kidney biopsy, just to be safe,” Leng Zimo explained.

Shen Yizhou nodded, ”Yes, that’s my advice. It will allow us to quickly confirm the condition. Even if there is indeed an issue, we’ll have more time to work with, which is beneficial for future treatment.”

Leng Zirui furrowed his brows, ”Then let’s do the biopsy. The old man has survived several bullet wounds; what’s a little biopsy to him.”

”The surgical risk isn’t high, and I’ll be performing the procedure myself. There shouldn’t be a problem. Our concern is how to broach the subject with Uncle Leng,” Shen Yizhou shrugged, ”There’s no way we can keep this from him!”

”This...” Leng Zirui raised his hand to rub his temples, also feeling somewhat helpless.

If his grandfather knew the real situation, he would definitely refuse the biopsy. Knowing his explosive temper, it was already good enough that he could be coaxed to stay in the hospital for the examination.

The three men, fully aware of Leng Lin’s temperament, felt somewhat troubled.

After a while, Leng Zirui spoke again, ”I think, this challenging task can only be left to Xiao Qian.”

”Xiao Qian?” Leng Zimo raised his eyebrows, ”Will he listen to her?”

Leng Zirui chuckled, ”Don’t forget, not only is Xiao Qian the daughter of dad’s former subordinate and daughter-in-law of the Leng Family, but she’s also the mother of the Leng Family’s future grandson. Right now, she’s practically the best weapon to handle the old man. As long as she speaks up, I assure you, the old man will surrender immediately.”
