After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 658: Chapter 662 Frying Xu Pei Squid [3]

After the meal, several people hurried to the studio for the photoshoot of the cosmetics advertisement that Luo Xiaoqian had been booked for, to take the print photos.

By the time the photos were finished, it was already past four in the afternoon. When Luo Xiaoqian sat down in front of the mirror to remove her makeup, Yu Tong personally poured her a cup of hot water and handed it to her.

”Manager Zhuo just called, asking us to go back to the company,” Yu Tong said.

”Is there something wrong?”

”She didn’t specify, but from the tone of her voice, it seemed quite urgent,” Yu Tong explained.

”Alright.”

Luo Xiaoqian, although already somewhat tired, did not say much since it was about work.

After she finished removing her makeup, she drank some water and thanked the staff before returning to Emperor View with Yu Tong and others.

There was a bit of traffic on the road, and by the time they returned to Emperor View and arrived at Zhuo Yannan’s team’s workspace, it was five o’clock, nearly time to finish work for the day.

As soon as several people entered, Luo Xiaoqian immediately saw Xu Pei, who was standing between the rows of desks with arms crossed and holding a file with a stern face.

Seeing her, Luo Xiaoqian’s brows immediately furrowed.

This was the first encounter between the two since that day.

Thinking of the things she had done, Luo Xiaoqian’s mood naturally could not calm down.

Aside from Xu Pei and Zhuo Yannan, several other team members were also present. Usually, they would have smiled and stood up to greet Luo Xiaoqian by now, but this time, each was sitting in their own place, either playing with a pen or flipping through materials, not speaking a word.

”Ya Nan, is there something wrong?” sensing something off with the atmosphere in the room, Yu Tong tried to break the ice with a smile and asked Zhuo Yannan.

Just as Zhuo Yannan was about to speak, Xu Pei slammed the folder in her hand onto the table and stared aggressively at Luo Xiaoqian, ”Luo Xiaoqian, give me an explanation!”

Luo Xiaoqian arched an eyebrow, reluctantly suppressed the displeasure in her heart, and calmly asked, ”Explain what?”

Xu Pei pursed her lips, ”Within two hours, at least two radio stations, one television station, and several media outlets called me to ask why you canceled the performances and appearances you had previously scheduled. Don’t you think these need an explanation?”

Listening to this, Yu Tong hurriedly explained with a smile, ”Director Xu, here’s the thing, Xiao Qian hasn’t been feeling well these past few days, it was I who canceled these appearances for her.”

”You canceled for her, on what authority did you cancel?” Xu Pei picked up the folder and flipped through the materials inside, ”Because of your cancellation, Emperor View is set to lose nearly a million in revenue. Who is going to compensate for this loss, can you, Yu Tong, afford it?”

”As Xiao Qian’s agent, it is my right to arrange her work. The company’s interest is important of course, but isn’t the artist’s health important too? If we squeeze the health out of our artists just for money, that’s killing the golden goose,” Yu Tong’s expression also became stern, ”Moreover, President Leng once said that Luo Xiaoqian could forgo any commercial performances...”

”Shut up!” Furious upon hearing Leng Zimo mentioned, Xu Pei could only let out a low growl, ”This is Emperor View owned by all shareholders, not just Leng Zimo’s personal company. As an artist of the company, you have to be responsible to the company. If you want your own man to support you, fine, you can leave, but as long as you’re an employee of Emperor View, you must be responsible for your actions!”

Xu Pei’s words clearly carried a personal attack, and not just Yu Tong, but several working staff also showed displeasure on their faces.

Frankly, although Luo Xiaoqian was Leng Zimo’s girlfriend, she had never used Leng Zimo’s influence to act arrogantly and had always been serious about her work.
