After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 659: Chapter 663 Frying Xu Pei Squid [4]

”Director Xu...” Zhuo Yannan also stood up, wanting to speak on behalf of Luo Xiaoqian.

”Yes!” Luo Xiaoqian raised her right hand, signaling everyone to be quiet, took two steps forward, and approached Xu Pei, ”Emperor View doesn’t belong to any single person, and as an artist of the company, I will take responsibility for my actions. But I want to ask Director Xu, is your targeting of me really for work-related reasons?”

Xu Pei scoffed, ”Hmph, if it’s not for work, what other reason would I have to target you?”

”Whether you have one or not, you know best,” Luo Xiaoqian’s tone was equally unfriendly, ”According to the rules of Emperor View, staff and artists have the right to make mutual selections. I don’t think our cooperation has been pleasant. From now on, I don’t need you to direct me any further. Our working relationship ends here.”

To prevent disputes between artists and their teams, Emperor View indeed had these mutual selection rules in place. If an artist felt that their work team was not a good fit, they could propose a change to the board. Similarly, if the work team felt that the artist wasn’t following their arrangements, they, too, could choose to no longer serve that artist.

Xu Pei was taken aback, and then scoffed coldly, ”Firing me, huh?! Luo Xiaoqian, are you starting to throw your weight around?”

Luo Xiaoqian’s tone was even colder, ”How others treat me is how I respond. Whether it’s me being a diva or Director Xu deliberately targeting me, I think everyone knows all too well. There’s no need for me to elaborate. Yu Tong, take me to the hospital!”

”To the hospital, now you’ve switched to playing sick?!” Xu Pei taunted from behind her.

”I’m not going to the hospital to see a doctor, but to visit a patient.” Luo Xiaoqian stopped, turned around to face her, ”If your conscience hasn’t been entirely eaten by dogs, you might want to find the time to visit the person who raised you for ten years.”

Having said that, she turned and walked away.

”Luo Xiaoqian, stop right there!” Xu Pei shouted urgently, ”What do you mean by that?”

Luo Xiaoqian ignored her and headed towards the door.

”Ya Nan, I’ll take Xiao Qian to the hospital to see Old Mr. Leng first,” Yu Tong greeted Zhuo Yannan and, with a cold glance at Xu Pei, quickly followed Luo Xiaoqian out.

”Old Leng is sick?” Zhuo Yannan asked worriedly.

”I’m not sure of the specifics, but he seems to be in the hospital now. I have to go,” Yu Tong hurried away.

”Boss, if there’s nothing else, can we go off work now?” Xiao Zhao asked lazily.

”Yeah, boss, I’m so hungry. I heard there’s a good buffet newly opened next door, and it’s my treat!”

The group of young people immediately started gathering their things to leave work.

Luo Xiaoqian had fired Xu Pei, so she was no longer part of their team. They had all witnessed Xu Pei’s personal attacks on Luo Xiaoqian, and coupled with the rumors circulating in the company over the past few days.

The undertones in Luo Xiaoqian’s recent remarks were clear, and it wasn’t hard for them to imagine that those rumors might not be just rumors after all.

”Director Xu, we’ll be taking off now,” Zhuo Yannan picked up his laptop bag, nodded at Xu Pei, and left the office with his subordinates.

Zhuo Yannan understood the intricacies of the situation far better than his subordinates did.

From Luo Xiaoqian’s behavior, he could surmise that the recent plagiarism incident might indeed be related to Xu Pei.

Such vile actions, compromising the company’s interests for personal vendettas, had long since disappointed Zhuo Yannan in Xu Pei. Naturally, he wouldn’t be showing her much kindness anymore.
