After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 655: Chapter 659 The older, the wiser [5]

Leng Zirui and Tong Ya left one after another while Shen Yizhou went to arrange some preparations needed for Leng Lin’s kidney biopsy.

Just then, Yu Tong called to remind Luo Xiaoqian of her work in the afternoon.

”Uncle Leng, take a good rest. Zimo and I will leave now. If there’s anything, just have Xiao Liu call me at any time.” After hanging up the phone, Luo Xiaoqian got up to take her leave.

Leng Lin nodded with a smile, his expression not clouded by his ailment, ”You two go about your work, don’t worry about me.”

”Okay.”

Luo Xiaoqian handed her phone to Leng Zimo sitting beside her, then gave him a meaningful look, signaling him to say goodbye to Leng Lin.

Taking her phone and placing it in her purse, Leng Zimo glanced at his father and spoke indifferently, ”Have Aunt Su tidy up my bedroom; we’ll come back to stay tonight.”

”Okay!” Leng Lin immediately nodded in agreement. ”I’ll have Xiao Liu call her in a bit.”

”Let’s go.” Leng Zimo turned and supported Luo Xiaoqian by her waist.

”Uncle Leng, I’ll come see you again tonight.” Waving to Leng Lin, Luo Xiaoqian and Leng Zimo left the hospital room together.

As the two entered the elevator, Leng Zimo called Xiao Ding, instructing him to bring the car to the entrance of the inpatient building. As soon as the two stepped out of the elevator and reached the door, Xiao Ding had already opened the car door for them. Leng Zimo helped Luo Xiaoqian into the back seat first, then sat down beside the car.

As the Mercedes left the military hospital, Leng Zimo looked at Luo Xiaoqian beside him, ”What work do you have this afternoon?”

”Recording a program at the TV station,” Luo Xiaoqian said, knowing his concerns. She smiled, ”Don’t worry, I’m just singing a slow ballad, no dancing. I’ll tell Yu Tong to cut down my workload even more, if possible.”

Leng Zimo nodded. Although worried about her, he understood that Luo Xiaoqian was very dedicated to her work. He knew that if he asked her to give up all her work now and focus solely on the pregnancy, she might agree but wouldn’t really be happy.

”Has Ruoruo set the date for her wedding for you?”

”I told her about it before, so it should be arranged,” Luo Xiaoqian replied.

”That’s good,” Leng Zimo said, pulling her closer by her shoulders. ”I know you take your work seriously, but you’re a mother now. You must think more about the baby.”

”I know,” Luo Xiaoqian nodded earnestly. ”Once the promotion for this album is over, I’ll reduce my workload as much as possible.”

This album was not just her labor of love but also the result of her team’s dedication over many days. She couldn’t easily abandon it.

Leng Zimo nodded, showing he agreed with her decision.

The car continued on its way, and Leng Zimo pondered another matter, slightly frowning.

Luo Xiaoqian also seemed lost in thought as she sat in the car seat.

”President Leng, will you two dine first or go straight to the company?” Xiao Ding asked softly from the driver’s seat.

”Back to the company,” Luo Xiaoqian responded. ”Yu Tong and the others have already prepared lunch for me. I need to start working at one, so there’s no time for lunch.”

”Okay,” Xiao Ding replied, steering the car onto the expressway.

Soon, the car pulled into the Emperor View Parking Lot.

The two held hands as they entered the elevator. As the elevator ascended, they both started to speak at the same time.

”About Xu Pei...”

”About Xu Pei...”

”You go first,” Leng Zimo offered. ”Don’t hold back. Say what you think.”

Luo Xiaoqian turned towards him, looking at his face. ”I wanted to say, let’s hold off on Xu Pei’s matter for now. We can wait until Uncle Leng’s surgery is finished and the diagnosis is confirmed. Is that okay?”
