Married the Sick Uncle – Just Waiting to Inherit His Fortune

David Hayes said, ”No, she’s talking to your supervisor, bad-mouthing you. She won’t cause any trouble for you, will she?”

David Hayes was a little worried.

He was now officially married to Sharon Sutton, which made him a member of the Sutton family.

He was very concerned about the family’s affairs!

Even though Sean Sutton was cheating, David wasn’t actually that worried.

He knew very well who called the shots in the Sutton family now!

Anne Sutton, of course.

After all, she was part of the Fawcett family!

Having married into the Fawcett family, she had a say in their matters.

Something like this wouldn’t affect her status. As long as he stayed on her good side, he might even get a quick promotion at his company.

Anne Sutton said, ”Even if I have to give up this job, I won’t let her off so easily.”

”Hah! And how exactly do you plan on not letting me off?” Just as she finished speaking, Maya Evans’s voice sounded from the doorway.

Anne Sutton looked up and saw that Sean Sutton had also arrived, with Maya Evans standing beside him.

The moment Anne Sutton saw Sean Sutton, her expression instantly turned cold.

Sharon Sutton was also very unhappy to see her father.

Mrs. Sutton looked at Sean Sutton and said, ”This woman says she gave you a son. Is it true?”

Hearing this, Sean Sutton glanced at Maya Evans.

Maya Evans lowered her head and said softly, ”I wasn’t lying.”

Seeing that the secret was out, Sean Sutton decided to just admit it. He said to Mrs. Sutton, ”Yes! I’m sorry, dear. I’ve been wrong all these years. I’ve let you down. Please, forgive me!”

Hearing his words, Mrs. Sutton said, her heart dead, ”Let’s get a divorce.”

For so many years, no matter how unhappy things had been, she had never considered divorce.

But at this moment, she had a truly intense desire to divorce him.

Because this was just too humiliating!

To have this kind of scene made at Anne Sutton’s workplace.

When Sean Sutton heard she wanted a divorce, he said, ”We’re not young anymore. What’s this talk about divorce?”

He would never agree to a divorce.

If they divorced, he would have to give half of the Sutton family’s assets to Mrs. Sutton, and Anne Sutton might sever all ties with him.

He would never agree to such a thing.

Mrs. Sutton said, ”That woman tracked us all the way here!”

Sean Sutton glanced at Maya Evans. ”I just gave her a talking-to! Now, apologize.”

He glared at Maya Evans, his expression very stern.

Maya Evans said, ”Why should I apologize? She’s the one who started with me! Your daughter even hit me today! No matter how you look at it, I’m her elder! If she doesn’t apologize to me today, I’m going to file a formal complaint and see how the hospital punishes her.”

Mrs. Sutton looked at Maya Evans and said, ”You’re shameless!”

”Honey, look, she’s cursing at me!” Maya Evans said, wiping away tears pitifully. ”See? They’re the ones bullying me, and you’re still being harsh with me! If you keep this up, I don’t want to live anymore.”

Sean Sutton couldn’t stand her tears. He looked at Mrs. Sutton and said, ”Maya gave me two children. I didn’t want things to be this way either, but your health wasn’t good back then, and you couldn’t give me a son, so I had no choice but to look elsewhere. The Sutton family can’t be without an heir, don’t you agree?”

Anne Sutton stood to the side, watching Sean Sutton coldly, finding it hard to believe he could be so thick-skinned.

He was the one who had illegitimate children, yet he could still say such things!

Hearing Sean Sutton’s words, Mrs. Sutton looked at him in disbelief. ”So now this is my fault?”

”I’m not blaming you,” Sean Sutton said. ”It’s just that what’s done is done. I can’t just kill the two children now, can I? How about this! I’ll bring Yvonne and Dylan back to live with us, and we’ll just have two more kids. You’ll still be Mrs. Sutton. As for her... I won’t let her into the Sutton family! And I won’t let her cause a scene at the hospital again and affect Anne’s future.”

”You really have the nerve to say that!” Anne Sutton looked at Sean Sutton, unable to understand how he could utter such words.

’Is this man really my biological father?’

Anne Sutton had originally thought that after this incident, her father would at least show some remorse. But she never expected... that he could say such things with a clear conscience!

’He even wants to bring the two children back and have my own mother act as their mother?’

Sean Sutton glanced at Anne Sutton, his face dark. ”What are you making a fuss about? I’m doing this for your own good! What, you really don’t want your job anymore? Hitting someone today was wrong, no matter what! If this gets escalated, you’ll lose your job.”

”Well, thank you so much for thinking of me!”

Seeing Anne Sutton standing in the way, Maya Evans said to Sean Sutton, ”If she’s not willing, then forget it. I’ll just go ahead and file the complaint. I want to see just how she loses her job.”

Her only goal was to get her two children into the Sutton family. Even if she had to suffer a little temporarily, it was no big deal.

After saying her piece, she started to leave, but Sean Sutton quickly stopped her.

He said to Mrs. Sutton, ”Think about it carefully. You need to consider Anne’s future. I’m taking her home first.”

With that, Sean Sutton dragged Maya Evans away.

Mrs. Sutton lay on the hospital bed, tears streaming down her face.

Sharon Sutton also hadn’t expected that after finally waiting for her father to arrive, he would say such things.

She walked over to her mother and hugged her. ”Mom.”

Anne Sutton looked at Mrs. Sutton and said, ”Divorce him.”

Mrs. Sutton said, ”But... what about you? You hit her today. If that woman makes a scene, your job will be affected.”

”I don’t care.”

”How could you not care?” Mrs. Sutton said. ”I know you love your job.”

Anne Sutton loved being a doctor!

Mrs. Sutton was very proud that her daughter had become such an excellent doctor over the years.

Losing her job over this would truly not be worth it.

Anne Sutton said, ”Are you really going to let them threaten you and keep tolerating this?”

”It’s alright,” Mrs. Sutton said. ”I’m old anyway. He even has children now. What else can I do?”

Anne Sutton looked at her mother in disbelief and said, ”Mom, do you know why things have gotten to this point? It’s because you’ve been tolerating it all these years. He tests your limits every single time, and you always give in. That’s why he’s so brazen now! If you indulge him again this time, won’t he just walk all over you in the future?”

’That woman came to the hospital and caused such a huge scene today, and he didn’t even scold her!’

’He just took her away like that!’

’It’s utterly ridiculous!’

Mrs. Sutton said, ”I’m very tired today! I don’t want to talk about this.”

”Mom,” Anne Sutton said. ”You have to be firm. Divorce him. Just say the word, and I’ll handle the rest. Don’t worry, I will make them pay.”

’That woman wants to enter the Sutton family and become the next Mrs. Sutton? I’ll never let her get what she wants!’

’I’ll make sure Sean Sutton and his illegitimate children get nothing!’
