High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1433: Chapter 180 Moving Towards a New World

Leaving the Land of Desolation, the Mist Captain did not take Nikita back to the ship.

Instead, he led her through a swath of fog.

When the Female Demon followed the Captain out of that fog, she detected a familiar scent.

Looking up, the lush canopy of towering trees intertwined, leaving scant gaps for the sky; looking down, multi-legged crawlers quickly scuttled from one pile of fallen leaves to another, holding a droplet of nectar in their pincers—tonight’s dinner. Fist-sized mushrooms glimmered with enchanting blue light amidst the moisture, and the unseen chirping of birds echoed softly in the darkness.

The Young Female Demon covered her mouth, her face revealing a blend of horror and sorrow.

This was Silent Forest.

Located on Buji Island, outside First University, it was a vast forest interwoven with light and darkness.

It was also the place where Nikita had fallen.

”I can feel the fear deep within your soul,” the Mist Captain’s voice rose in front of her.

The Female Demon nodded silently.

If two Demons appeared on Buji Island, especially if found by the wizards of First University, it’s likely they wouldn’t even have an easy death.

Even if one of them was a Great Demon.

The wizards love nothing more than High Tier Demons as experimental material.

Conveniently, First University has no shortage of Big Wizards. This island might have the highest density of Big Wizards in the entire Wizard World. Imagine two hyenas falling into the midst of a pride of lions.

”Rest assured. Although the school’s Guardian Array is quite sensitive to demon aura, we are already in the Silent Forest,” the Captain, walking unhurriedly through the crisscrossing tree roots with the Female Demon, explained with a gentle voice:

”Moreover, this is one of the most remote areas of Silent Forest. The Protect Legal Formation doesn’t monitor this region all the time... and I won’t be staying here long.”

The Female Demon, upon hearing this, breathed a small sigh of relief and nodded with Assurance.

Then, she suddenly lifted her head with a look of fear towards the Captain, her lips quivering, wanting to speak yet somewhat timid.

The Mist Captain just happened to turn around, glanced at her, his face bearing a smile, his gaze as cold as ever, as if he had guessed what the Female Demon wanted to ask, and very thoughtfully repeated his earlier words:

”...that’s right, I won’t be staying here for too long.”

The Female Demon’s attention finally shifted entirely from the emotions of revisiting the old place.

She couldn’t help but shiver.

”I...”

She wanted to ask, what about me? I came here with you! You can’t just leave me behind and go back alone! However, facing the Captain’s indifferent gaze, she lacked the courage to voice her thoughts.

The Female Demon fiddled with the crimson cloth band on her wrist, her fingers twining around it, like a heart’s whisper hesitating on the tip of her tongue for a long time.

But she ultimately made the right decision.

”What... what can I do for you?”

The Female Demon made a very wise choice of words. Since she couldn’t fight against fate’s arrangement, why not compromise with fate to gain its favor?

Just like in that desert, when she discarded the beetles and climbed onto that corpse, tearing open his neck.

Just like in that dark cabin, when she gave up her illusions and finally sank into the Abyss.

Right now, it was simply a new fork in the River of Destiny, and she just needed to continue along the broadest tributary. Even if she knew that there might be a waterfall a kilometer high ahead on this tributary, what did that matter? This was after all the broadest tributary. And besides, which tributary doesn’t carry its dangers?

The Mist Captain nodded in satisfaction, finally showing a trace of admiration in his eyes.

”Experience is like a pile of embers that still retain some residual warmth,” the captain’s words always carried a bit of philosophy, but their actual meaning was quite straightforward:

”You have spent a long time at this university and have ample knowledge of this forest. Compared to the few other fellows on the ship, you still have enough residual warmth to keep you warm... Stay here, gather those restless beasts in the woods, and at the right time, lead them out of the Silent Forest to thoroughly enjoy the delicacies you deserve!”

As he spoke, the Big Sea Monster closed its eyes, stretched its arms out, and took a deep breath.

It was as if it could already smell the fragrant blood of the Young Wizards drifting over from the other side of the Silent Forest.

In contrast, the Female Demon was much more rational.

”The right time... when is that?” she asked cautiously, but in her heart, she mourned for herself for a few seconds. No matter how you heard it, the captain’s arrangement seemed to be sending her to be cannon fodder.

If the First University could be so easily overwhelmed by a horde of beasts, wouldn’t the Silent Black Tide be the most terrible accident in the Wizard World every year? But in reality, the Silent Black Tide has hardly ever destroyed Beta Town even a few times.

The captain’s answer was very simple:

”When the stars descend.”

This answer was somewhat vague, Nikita really wanted to ask again, what are the stars? When do they descend? Do I lead the beasts out after the stars have descended, or at the same time? Where will the stars fall? Could I alone gather a huge horde of beasts in the Silent Forest? She was just a Registered Wizard-level Witch Demon!

The Mist Captain quickly bolstered the young Female Demon’s confidence with practical action.

He took the Female Demon around the edge of the Silent Forest and in a very short amount of time, subdued a Black Flood Dragon with three heads from a Giant Tribe, as well as a group of Welsh Green Dragons.

The Female Demon was very satisfied to have the three-headed Black Flood Dragon as her mount.

When Venus appeared and a red glow emerged on the horizon, and the morning mist began to spread through the trees, Nikita suddenly understood that this was a sign the captain was about to leave.

”You won’t stay here for long.” The Mist Captain stood in front of those surging white mists, facing the young Female Demon, and handed her a domino:

”Maybe it’s a month, maybe a week, or maybe it’s tomorrow, but it won’t be much longer... Don’t worry about the horde you’ve gathered not being enough; our allies have completed most of the work. Your stay here represents my stance. Take this, our allies will find you.”

The confidence in the Female Demon’s heart finally grew a little more.

She even started to think whether she should take some initiative - originally she planned to hide in a cave with the three-headed Black Flood Dragon after the captain left and remotely control the group of Giants and Welsh Green Dragons to take action.

But now.

The figure of the Mist Captain gradually disappeared into the depths of the white mist.

The Female Demon raised her head, her gaze passing over the layers of treetops, looking towards the sun that leapt into sight, and a mysterious thing called ambition began to sprout from the bottom of her heart.

She had realized something very early on - the event related to Black Prison was not a unified action of the Demon World. This visit to the Land of Desolation further confirmed that point.

A significant fact was that throughout the entire visit to the Land of Desolation, the Mist Captain did not follow the usual customs to visit the true master of the Land of Desolation. And neither The Duke Ulrich nor the captain mentioned those behemoths lurking behind them.

Such as the Sea Demon King or the Witch Demon King.

The law of nature is that big fish eat smaller fish, and smaller fish eat shrimp.

So, when small fish start to steal from the big fish’s Hunting Ground, can the shrimp also sneak a bite of the little fish’s bait?

Nikita closed her eyes, opened her mouth, and faced the Sun. Her tongue felt warm as if she had just swallowed a mouthful of sunlight. The light passed through her eyelids, leaving a colorful red on the retina. The red flowed, tumbled, and teemed with uncountable mystical symbols and patterns, which left the young Female Demon entranced.

The red made her feel warm.

When she opened her eyes again, the World was shrouded in a hazy green hue.

Brand new, brand new.

She knew that she was about to step into a new World.
