Death Guns In Another World

Chapter 1899 - 1684: Aftermath

After the grueling battle deep inside the berserk dungeon, the group emerged victorious. The dungeon had collapsed, its corruption eradicated by Incursioʼs overwhelming power.

Now, they stood at the edge of civilization once more, their battle-worn bodies aching for rest.

Ahead of them stretched a small city, nestled between rolling green hills and surrounded by white stone walls. The city had an almost picturesque charm, with cobblestone streets, red-roofed buildings, and glowing lanterns illuminating the night.

The air smelled of freshly baked bread, grilled meat, and sweet fruit wine—a stark contrast to the stench of death and battle they had just endured.

Alex turned to his companions, a small smirk playing on his lips.

”Letʼs take a break. We deserve it.”

The group entered through the city gates, their imposing presence turning heads.

Alex, towering at 1.95 meters, exuded an aura of supreme confidence, his black coat billowing behind him. Maria and the other girls, all strikingly beautiful and deadly, drew the attention of both men and women alike.

But the real spectacle was Leon, the massive beastman prince, his sheer muscular bulk making people stare in awe.

The moment they stepped into the bustling streets, a wave of energy and life greeted them.

Merchants called out their wares.

Children ran through the streets, playing.

Bards played cheerful tunes in the town square.

Unlike the war-torn battlefields they had grown accustomed to, this place was peaceful, untouched by chaos.

Their first stop was a luxurious bathhouse, a place filled with natural hot springs.

The girls and the men separated into their respective sections, sinking into the steaming waters.

Maria let out a satisfied sigh, her golden hair floating on the surface.

”This… this is paradise.”

Luna, meanwhile, splashed Gracier, who retaliated, leading to a mini water battle in the springs.

On the menʼs side, Leon cracked his knuckles.

”Alex, up for a contest? Letʼs see who can hold their breath underwater the longest.”

Alex chuckled, accepting the challenge, and soon the two powerhouses were competing, much to the amusement of the other bathers.

After their bath, the group ventured into the city market, a vibrant place filled with colorful stalls selling everything from rare spices to enchanted trinkets.

Maria and Luna dragged Alex to a clothing stall, forcing him to try on various outfits.

Luna held up a tight-fitting black shirt against him and smirked.

”This one. Itʼll show off those muscles.”

Alex groaned, but the girls insisted, leading to an impromptu fashion show in the middle of the street.

Meanwhile, Gracier and Incursio found themselves in a weapons shop, admiring finely crafted swords and bows.

At the food stalls, Leon and Ariel sampled roasted skewers, fluffy pastries, and sweet fruit wines, enjoying the lively atmosphere.

As they wandered further, they stumbled upon a local fighting arena, where warriors challenged each other in friendly duels.

Naturally, Alex and Leon couldnʼt resist.

With a grin, the beastman prince stepped into the ring.

”Come on, Alex. One round. No magic, just fists.”

Alex smirked.

”Youʼre asking to get beaten again?”

The crowd cheered as the two titans clashed, their bare fists colliding like thunderclaps.

Dust rose from the impact as they exchanged blow after blow, neither holding back.

The match ended in a draw, both men collapsing onto the ground, laughing.

That night, they gathered in the cityʼs finest tavern, where a grand feast awaited them.

A long wooden table was filled to the brim with roasted meats, fresh bread, exotic fruits, and barrels of the finest ale.

The group ate, drank, and laughed, their usual battle-hardened expressions replaced by genuine joy.

Maria leaned into Alexʼs shoulder, sighing contentedly.

”Itʼs nice, isnʼt it? Just relaxing like this.”

Alex smiled, wrapping an arm around her.

”Yeah… it is.”

For a moment, they werenʼt warriors or rulers.

They were just friends, enjoying life.

As the night deepened, music and dance filled the tavern.

Luna dragged Alex onto the dance floor, followed by the others.

Gracier laughed as she twirled, her golden flames flickering harmlessly around her.

Leon spun Ariel in his arms, their movements graceful yet wild.

Even Incursio, usually cold and detached, found herself smiling as she observed the warmth of her companions.

This was peace.

This was happiness.

And though they knew greater battles awaited them, for now—

They simply lived in the moment.

As the night deepened and the warmth of the grand feast settled in their bellies, the people of the small city gathered in the open square. The air was alive with excitement, laughter, and the cheerful strumming of bards playing lively tunes.

Above them, the sky stretched like a vast canvas of darkness, waiting to be painted with bursts of brilliant color.

The mayor of the city, an elderly man with a kind smile, raised his hands and announced,

”Let the fireworks begin!”

A sharp whistle cut through the night, followed by a thunderous boom.

Then—

The sky erupted.

Brilliant streaks of gold, crimson, sapphire, and emerald shot upward before exploding into dazzling patterns. Some resembled blooming flowers, others dancing stars, and a few formed dragons and phoenixes soaring across the heavens.

The crowd cheered, their faces illuminated by the warm glow of the fireworks.

Gracierʼs golden eyes sparkled, reflecting the flames in the sky. She grinned, nudging Alex.

”Brother, isnʼt it beautiful?”

Alex, standing with his arms crossed, let out a small chuckle. ”Yeah, itʼs not bad.”

Luna, standing beside him, elbowed him playfully. ”Not bad? Come on, even you have to admit itʼs amazing.”

Incursio remained silent, gazing at the sky with her usual composed expression, but in her silver eyes, a flicker of awe betrayed her.

Leon and Ariel stood together, the beastman prince wrapping a strong arm around his fiancéeʼs waist. Ariel leaned against him, sighing happily. ”Itʼs been a long time since we just enjoyed something like this.”

Then, as if the fireworks werenʼt enough, Gracier decided to add her own touch.

Summoning her golden flames, she crafted small firebirds, letting them fly up to join the display. The fiery creatures danced through the sky, weaving between the fireworks, leaving behind shimmering trails of light.

The crowd gasped in wonder, clapping at the display of magic.

Maria smirked. ”Show-off.”

Alex only smiled, watching as his little sister enjoyed herself.

Then, out of nowhere, Luna grabbed his hand.

”Come on, letʼs dance.”

Before he could protest, she pulled him into the square where others had already started dancing. The cheerful melody of flutes and violins filled the air. Soon, Maria joined, dragging Incursio along, while Leon led Ariel into a lively spin.

Laughter, Music, and the Beauty of the Night

The festival continued long into the night, with music, dancing, and endless fireworks lighting up the sky.

For this one evening, there were no battles, no bloodshed, no threats looming over them.

Just friends, laughter, and the magic of the moment.

And as Alex watched the sky explode in a cascade of silver and gold, he couldnʼt help but think—

Perhaps… moments like this were worth fighting for.
