Death Guns In Another World

Chapter 1882 - 1669: Berserk Dungeons 2

As Alex and Hilde with the others on their back approached the berserk dungeon, the scene before them was one of chaos and foreboding. The dungeon, nestled within the jagged cliffs of a desolate mountain range, was shrouded in a thick, ominous purplish-red fog. The air itself felt heavy with malevolent energy, and the ground trembled beneath the ceaseless howls of monsters that roamed the area, their glowing eyes piercing the fog like beacons of despair.

Some monsters, driven mad by the dungeonʼs corrupted energy, attempted to flee the area. Others, more aggressive, charged blindly toward the source of their rage, their roars echoing through the oppressive atmosphere.

Alex, in his massive black dragon form, landed first, his claws digging into the rocky terrain with a resounding impact. He tilted his head back, releasing a deafening roar that drowned out the cacophony of the monsters. His golden eyes burned with determination as he took in the swarming creatures around them.

Hilde followed, her pristine white scales shimmering even in the dim, distorted light of the corrupted fog. She let out a roar of her own, her icy breath visible in the chill that suddenly filled the air around her. Her presence was equally commanding, her piercing blue eyes locking onto the monsters that dared to challenge their arrival.

Maria, standing atop Alexʼs neck, raised her hand, her voice cutting through the noise.

”Alex, Hilde—clear the area. Letʼs reduce their numbers before we engage further!”

Without hesitation, Alex opened his massive jaws, and a torrent of blazing fire erupted forth. The flames roared with an intensity that matched the fury of the corrupted dungeon, washing over the closest wave of monsters. The fire consumed everything in its path, reducing the smaller creatures to ash in mere moments.

Hilde, not to be outdone, unleashed her icy breath. A piercing, crystalline wind surged from her maw, encasing a second group of monsters in thick layers of ice. The creatures froze mid-charge, their bodies glinting like grotesque statues before shattering under their own weight.

The combined onslaught of fire and ice created a devastating display of power, carving a path through the hordes of monsters. Steam hissed and swirled where the two elements collided, adding to the surreal, otherworldly atmosphere.

Luna, standing alongside Maria, gripped her staff tightly and called out, ”Keep at it! We need to make sure none of them escape to the nearby towns!”

Gracier, from her position behind Alex, cheered her brother on. ”Burn them all, Alex! Show them the power of a true dragon!”

Leon, standing atop Hildeʼs back with Ariel, watched the destruction with admiration.

”Your friend never fails to impress, does he?”

She said to him, who nodded, his eyes wide at the sheer scale of the battle.

As the monsters continued to pour from the dungeonʼs entrance, Alex and Hilde didnʼt relent. Alex swept his tail in a wide arc, sending a group of larger monsters flying into the fog, where they were finished off by a precise volley of fireballs from Maria. Hilde used her claws to cleave through a charging beast, her icy breath creating barriers of frost to corral the remaining creatures into tighter clusters for Ariel and Leon to eliminate.

After several minutes of coordinated attacks, the area surrounding the dungeon began to clear. The monstrous howls grew quieter, replaced by the crackling of flames and the faint tinkling of ice as it melted under the heat of Alexʼs fire.

Maria called out, ”That should thin their numbers. Everyone, prepare to move into the dungeon!”

The group dismounted the dragons, their boots crunching against the scorched and frozen ground.

The ominous fog still loomed over the dungeonʼs entrance, its glow pulsing like a heartbeat. Luna approached Alex, her voice calm but firm. ”Whateverʼs causing this, itʼs deep inside. Weʼll need to stick together.”

The others and continued their assault.

Gracier, unable to contain her excitement and thirst for destruction, decided it was her time to join the fray. Her petite frame glowed with an intense red aura as her transformation began. In mere moments, she turned into a medium-sized dragon, her dark red scales gleaming like molten lava. Her fiery wings spread wide, casting a blazing light across the fog-covered battlefield.

As the Ruler of Flame, Gracier possessed a level of control over the Fire element that surpassed even Alexʼs formidable mastery. Her very presence made the air shimmer with heat, and her golden, slit-pupil eyes burned with an insatiable hunger for battle.

Alex glanced at his sisterʼs dragon form, a mix of pride and amusement flickering across his face. ”Gracier, try not to burn everything down,” he teased, his voice laced with brotherly fondness.

Gracier, her voice carrying the weight of her dragon form, laughed. ”No promises, big brother! Watch and learn!”

She took to the skies with a powerful flap of her wings, a trail of embers scattering behind her. Her sharp claws glinted in the dim light as she dove toward a cluster of monsters emerging from the dungeon.

With a thunderous roar, she unleashed a torrent of flames that dwarfed even Alexʼs previous attack. The fire raged like a living entity, spiraling into a massive inferno that engulfed dozens of monsters in one strike. The creatures screeched and thrashed as the flames consumed them, their forms disintegrating into ash under the unrelenting heat.

Gracier didnʼt stop there. She hovered above the battlefield, her chest glowing with an intense orange light as she prepared another attack. With a deep inhale, she summoned a concentrated ball of fire in her mouth—a miniature sun that radiated unbearable heat. She unleashed it with a deafening roar, the fiery orb streaking through the fog like a comet and detonating in the middle of a large group of monsters.

The explosion was cataclysmic. The ground trembled as a shockwave rippled outward, scattering smaller creatures like leaves in a storm. The purplish-red fog momentarily parted, revealing the sheer devastation Gracier had wrought. The monsters caught in the blast were obliterated, leaving a scorched crater in their wake.

From the sidelines, Maria and the others watched in awe.

”Sheʼs incredible,” Luna remarked, shielding her eyes from the glare of Gracierʼs flames.

”Sheʼs definitely Alexʼs sister,” Leonardo added, a grin tugging at his lips.

Gracier swooped low, her claws tearing through a hulking beast that dared to lunge at her. She spun gracefully in midair, her tail smashing into another creature and sending it flying into the distance. Her movements were fluid and precise, a deadly dance of fire and fury.

As more monsters poured from the dungeon, Gracier decided to up the ante. She landed with a thunderous impact, her claws digging into the rocky ground. Raising her head high, she channeled her power, summoning dozens of fiery orbs that hovered around her like a blazing constellation.

”Letʼs turn up the heat!” she roared.

The orbs shot out in all directions, each one seeking a target. The battlefield lit up with explosions as the fiery projectiles found their marks, reducing the monsters to charred remains. The heat was so intense that even the ground began to crack and smolder.

Alex, still in his human form, watched with an approving nod. ”Sheʼs definitely showing off,” he muttered to Maria, who chuckled in agreement.

After a few minutes of relentless destruction, the area around the dungeon was eerily silent. Gracier landed beside Alex, her dragon form still radiating residual heat. She transformed back into her human form, her crimson hair glowing faintly like embers.

”How was that?” she asked, her golden eyes sparkling with excitement.

”Impressive,” Alex admitted, ruffling her hair.

”But letʼs not forget we still have to head inside.”

Gracier smirked. ”I just wanted to make sure the outside was clear for you, big brother. Now, letʼs finish this.”

With the battlefield cleared and the path to the dungeon wide open, the group regrouped, their spirits high and their resolve unwavering. Together, they stepped into the corrupted depths, ready to face whatever horrors awaited them. It had been a while since everyone present worked together. It should be fun, a little warming up before the imminent clash against Bahamut.
