Death Guns In Another World

Chapter 1879 - 1666: First Move

Leonardo steadied himself, holding up a hand in surrender. ”Alright, alright, you win this round,” he said, shaking his head with a rueful grin.

Alex extended a hand, helping his friend to his feet. ”You werenʼt half bad, Leo.”

”Yeah, yeah. Donʼt let it go to your head,” Leonardo replied, clasping Alexʼs hand tightly.

As they walked off the field, both men laughing and teasing each other, Ariel handed Leonardo a towel while Maria handed Alex a water bottle.

”You two looked like a pair of wild animals out there,” Ariel said with a mix of amusement and exasperation.

”Thatʼs because we are,” Leonardo quipped, draping the towel over his shoulders.

Alex took a long sip of water, then glanced at the girls. ”Whatʼs next? Anyone else want to challenge me?”

Gracier raised a hand enthusiastically.

”Me!”

”Not today,” Maria interjected, smirking.

”Youʼve already bruised enough egos for one morning.”

The others laughed as well, thinking she is indeed back.

The air inside the grand hall of the dark castle was thick with an almost tangible malice. Shadows danced eerily across the stone walls, cast by the flickering purple flames of the torches lining the chamber. At the center of the room sat a long obsidian table, its surface reflecting the ominous glow of the torches. Seated around it were the Ten Apostles, each an embodiment of chaos and destruction, their faces obscured by darkness and the aura of dread they exuded.

At the head of the table was Lord Thanos, the second-in-command of the Chaos Organization. Clad in dark crimson armor etched with runes of an ancient, malevolent language, he radiated authority and power. His silver hair shimmered faintly under the dim light, and his piercing, golden eyes scanned the room with a predatory gaze.

”Bahamutʼs absence leaves us with a singular task,” Thanos began, his deep voice reverberating through the hall. ”We must sow chaos and weaken the enemy from within. And what better place to strike than the heart of Freyaʼs influence—her academy.”

The Apostles exchanged glances, some smirking, others nodding silently.

One of them, a lanky figure wrapped in tattered black robes, leaned forward. His voice was as sharp as a dagger. ”An attack on the academy could cripple her forces and sever their supply of talented recruits. But itʼs well-guarded. A direct assault would be suicide.”

Thanos smiled faintly, his expression a mix of amusement and disdain. ”Do you think I would suggest something so foolish, Malgrim? No. This operation requires precision, subterfuge, and a touch of…corruption.”

He gestured toward a figure sitting to his right—a woman with raven-black hair and glowing, red eyes. She wore a sleek, black dress, her demeanor exuding both elegance and danger.

”Illusia,” Thanos continued, ”your ability to manipulate minds and emotions makes you the ideal candidate for infiltration. You will take the guise of an instructor at the academy. Slowly, you will sow discord among the students and faculty.”

Illusia smiled wickedly. ”Consider it done. They wonʼt even realize theyʼre tearing each other apart until itʼs too late.”

Another Apostle, a massive, armored brute with glowing green veins running through his arms, growled, ”What about the more…direct methods? My fists are eager to crush those who stand against us.”

”Youʼll get your chance, Ragnok,” Thanos replied, his tone icy. ”But brute force must be used strategically. Once Illusia has weakened their unity and trust, we will send a team to strike from within.”

The Apostles murmured among themselves, excitement and bloodlust building in the air.

A slender, hooded figure at the far end of the table spoke up, their voice a soft whisper that commanded attention. ”And what of Freya herself? Surely, she will not sit idly by while her academy is attacked.”

Thanosʼs golden eyes gleamed. ”Freya will be dealt with in due time. But for now, our focus is the academy. Divide and conquer. Destabilize their foundation, and the rest

Lord Thanosʼs commanding voice resonated through the chamber, silencing the murmurs of the Apostles. He leaned forward, his golden eyes gleaming with calculated malice.

”Keep the Emperor-level monsters under control,” he ordered, his tone sharp and unyielding. ”Through them, we maintain control over the lesser monsters. Direct their assaults on key cities to divert Freyaʼs forces. Let them scramble to defend their people while our true strike unfolds unnoticed.”

The Apostles nodded, their expressions grimly satisfied. A burly figure with horns curling from his temples grunted in approval. ”The chaos will keep their attention fixed on the wrong places. They wonʼt see whatʼs coming.”

Thanosʼs gaze shifted to another Apostle, a pale figure with glowing blue veins spidering across their skin. They exuded an unsettling aura of decay and death.

”Necros,” Thanos continued, ”deploy your subordinates to the dungeons scattered across the land. Their task is simple—reach the dungeon cores and destabilize them. Infuse the cores with stolen life force, and trigger catastrophic dungeon breaks. The surge of monsters will force our enemies to spread their forces even thinner.”

Necrosʼs lip curled into a sinister smile. ”Consider it done. My subordinates will ensure the cores are corrupted. The dungeons will erupt like never before, overwhelming their pathetic defenses.”

Another Apostle, shrouded in shadows, spoke in a low, gravelly voice. ”And what of the adventurers and heroes who guard the dungeons? They will resist.”

Thanos smirked coldly. ”Let them resist. Send powerful operatives to eliminate the strongest of them. Let their deaths serve as warnings to the others. The more they fear us, the more chaos will reign.”

Illusia, still lounging with an air of confidence, added with a sly grin, ”With the academy in disarray and their forces spread thin, Freyaʼs grip on the continent will weaken. Soon, the Chaos Organization will dominate every corner of this world.”

Thanos stood, his imposing presence casting a long shadow over the Apostles. ”This is the beginning of the end for our enemies. Execute your tasks with precision. No mistakes. No mercy. Our chaos will consume this world, and from its ashes, a new order will rise—our order.”

The Apostles rose as one, each bowing their heads in deference. Their faces burned with a mix of bloodlust and devotion to their leaderʼs vision.

As the meeting concluded, the Apostles dispersed, their assignments clear. The dark halls of the Chaos Organizationʼs fortress buzzed with sinister intent, each member preparing to unleash devastation on an unsuspecting world.

Lord Thanos remained at the head of the table, his eyes fixed on the swirling storm visible through a nearby window. He clenched his gauntleted hand into a fist.

”Soon,” he murmured to himself, a cruel smile curling his lips. ”The light will be snuffed out, and chaos will reign supreme.”
