Death Guns In Another World

Chapter 1873 - 1661: It has been a while 1

As the moon bathed the floating fortress in silver light, Alex stood in the kitchen, carefully plating the final dish for the evening. The others, with knowing smiles, had tactfully decided to give Alex and Maria some much-needed time alone.

Maria sat in their shared living space, her amber eyes glowing warmly in the candlelight. She looked around the room, which Alex had transformed into an intimate haven. A soft, enchanted glow emanated from floating lanterns, their light flickering like tiny stars. The table was set with fine porcelain, gleaming silverware, and a vase holding a single crimson rose.

Alex entered, balancing two plates in his hands. He wore a casual but elegant outfit—a dark shirt with rolled-up sleeves, paired with tailored trousers. He offered Maria a small smile as he set the plates down.

”For the lady,” he said with a playful bow, earning a soft laugh from Maria.

”Whatʼs the occasion, Alex?” she asked, tilting her head as she admired the setup.

He took a seat across from her, his gaze soft.

”Do I need a reason to spoil the woman I love?”

Mariaʼs cheeks flushed faintly, but she smiled. ”Youʼve always been good at this,” she murmured, her voice tender.

The meal Alex had prepared was simple yet exquisite. The appetizer was a light, aromatic soup made from enchanted herbs grown in the fortressʼs garden, paired with freshly baked bread. For the main course, Alex had cooked a delicate seared fish, seasoned with rare spices and served alongside a creamy vegetable risotto.

Maria took a bite, her eyes widening slightly.

”Alex… this is incredible. Did you have help?”

He chuckled, leaning back in his chair. ”Not this time. I wanted it to be something I made just for you.”

They ate slowly, savoring the food and each otherʼs company. The conversation flowed naturally, moving from lighthearted stories to deeper reflections on the time theyʼd spent apart. Maria shared tales of her latest mission, her eyes lighting up as she described the challenges she had faced and the triumphs she had achieved.

”Youʼve been through a lot,” Alex said softly, reaching across the table to take her hand.

”Iʼm proud of you, Maria. Always.”

She squeezed his hand gently, her amber eyes locking with his. ”And you? Holding everything together here, watching over everyone… I donʼt know how you do it, Alex. Youʼre amazing.”

As they finished their meal, Alex stood and extended a hand toward Maria. ”May I have this dance?”

She raised an eyebrow, smiling. ”A dance? Here?”

He nodded, his expression warm. ”Why not? Itʼs our night.”

Maria placed her hand in his, letting him guide her to the center of the room. A soft melody filled the air, the music coming from enchanted instruments Alex had set to play earlier.

He placed a hand on her waist, and she rested hers on his shoulder. They swayed gently, their movements slow and unhurried, as if the world around them had ceased to exist.

”Youʼre surprisingly good at this,” Maria teased, looking up at him.

”Iʼve had practice,” Alex replied with a smirk.

”But you make it easy.”

Maria laughed, her voice light and carefree, and leaned her head against his chest. ”Iʼve missed this. Iʼve missed you.”

”Iʼve missed you too,” Alex said, his voice barely above a whisper. ”More than you know.”

After their dance, Alex led Maria outside to the fortressʼs balcony. The night was cool and serene, the sky a canvas of stars. He wrapped a soft shawl around her shoulders and pulled her close.

They sat together on a bench, Maria resting her head on his shoulder as they gazed at the heavens.

”Do you ever think about the future?” Maria asked, her voice soft.

”Every day,” Alex admitted. ”And every time, I see you in it.”

Maria looked up at him, her eyes shimmering.

”You really are hopelessly romantic, you know that?”

”And you love it,” he said with a grin, earning a playful nudge.

They stayed like that for a while, wrapped in each otherʼs warmth and the quiet beauty of the night. It was a moment of peace, a rare chance for them to simply be together without the weight of their responsibilities.

For Alex and Maria, it was a night that reminded them of everything they were fighting for—a future they would face together, no matter what challenges lay ahead.

Back in their bedroom.

When Alex imagined himself being with Maria again after their long time apart, he had envisioned something frantic, powerful, and filled with endless pleasures that would melt his mind. But what he was feeling now was entirely different. Thankfully, in a good way. Maria was undeniably a woman with an insatiable sexual drive and a boundless imagination.

Yet, in this moment, neither she nor Alex was intent on simply losing themselves in mindless passion. After all, even though only two weeks had passed in the real world since they last saw each other, from Mariaʼs perspective, it had been nearly a year, and even for Alex, it felt like several months apart.

Holding the petite woman, vibrant and full of life, in his arms, Alex felt a rare and profound sense of contentment. It was as though everything in the world had aligned perfectly.

”Alex…”

Her voice was like sweet honey in his ears, her warmth enveloping him and stirring his heart. Pulling her closer, he brought his face to hers, gazing into her mesmerizing eyes before pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead.

”I missed you.”

Mariaʼs expression softened, and she leaned forward, wrapping her arms around him as they sank into the sheets of the bed.

”I missed you more.”

Her voice was soft, almost coquettish, but Alex could hear the underlying yearning and a faint trace of sorrow in her tone. Yet, he didnʼt press her—not now, not here. This was their time to reconnect.

Kissing her forehead once more, he let his lips travel lower, brushing lightly over her eyelids, making them flutter. As he moved to her neck, he inhaled her scent deeply, feeling a wave of warmth and vitality wash over him.

”You should be careful,” she teased. ”My scent can be addictive.”

He chuckled and playfully bit her neck, earning a quiet groan of pleasure from Maria.

”Youʼre more sensitive. How long have you been waiting for this?”

He whispered the words into her ear, nibbling lightly on her earlobe. His lips continued their journey, planting kisses along her skin until he reached her collarbone, where he left a deep, possessive mark.

”Youʼre mine,” Alex declared, pulling back slightly to meet her gaze. His mismatched eyes—one a brilliant blue, the other a striking gold—shone with intensity. His words were not a question but a firm statement, one Maria did not deny.

”And youʼre mine as well,” she responded.

Cupping his face in her hands, she pulled him closer, their lips meeting in a kiss they had both longed for.

Ah…

This was it. This was what they had been craving. For Maria, holding Alex like this made the world seem vibrant and whole again.

Their kiss was chaste at first—gentle and loving. For two beings like Alex and Maria, known for their passion and intensity, this simple connection spoke volumes. It was more than pleasure; it was a reunion, a reaffirmation of their bond, and a promise of what was to come.

No words were needed as they deepened the kiss, their lips parting simultaneously as their tongues began a beautiful, synchronized dance. When they finally pulled apart, Mariaʼs eyes shifted, one pupil transforming into a heart-shaped design.

”Youʼre beautiful,” Alex murmured.

”And youʼre not too bad yourself,” she quipped.

”Youʼve definitely leveled up since the last time I saw you.”

Alex laughed softly, his chest warming at her playful tone. This was the Maria he knew-bubbly, bold, sassy, and endlessly enticing. He was grateful to have her back, and he silently vowed to bring her as much pleasure as she could handle, no matter what.

As if responding to his thoughts, her clothes shimmered briefly before disappearing entirely, leaving her bare before him.

It had been months since Alex had last seen her like this, but his memory had never let go of her image. Reaching forward, he cupped one of her full, inviting breasts, his lips descending to the other, teasing and suckling.

It was time to take things to the next level.
