Death Guns In Another World

Chapter 1856 - 1645: Reunion 1

Back at the fortress, Alex used the special pass heʼd been given, making his way through the secure gates and into the familiar halls of his stronghold. The moment he stepped inside, he could feel the warm, comforting energy of home surrounding him. It wasnʼt long before he was greeted by the excited sounds of footsteps racing toward him, and soon enough, he found himself swarmed by the girls who meant the world to him.

Gracier, with her fiery red hair tied up in her signature twin tails, was the first to reach him. She practically leaped into his arms, her embrace tight and overflowing with joy.

”Welcome back, big brother! I missed you so much!” she exclaimed, her voice full of affection.

Alex wrapped his arms around her, feeling the weight of his own longing dissipate as he held her close. ”Me too, Gracier,” he replied, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. He savored the moment, grateful to be with his family again.

Not a beat later, Artemia stepped forward, her serene smile lighting up as she reached out to him. Then came Sera, her quiet strength reflected in her warm gaze, followed by Saeko, Sakuya, Eris and Luna, each one waiting patiently for their turn. He embraced each of them with genuine love and gratitude, his heart swelling with warmth as he held them close.

Though it had only been a few days since they had parted ways, the time apart had felt much longer. Every moment away from them reminded Alex of how deeply he cherished each one of them. These girls were not only his family but the most important people in his life. He knew he would go to any lengths to protect them, to keep them safe and happy. As he stood there, surrounded by their familiar presence, he felt a renewed sense of purpose and strength. This was his family, his reason for fighting, and he was willing to do anything for them.

Together, Alex and the girls made their way to the onsen, a natural hot spring bath nestled within the fortress grounds and styled after traditional Japanese bathhouses. The onsen was a tranquil oasis, surrounded by lush greenery and stone lanterns casting a soft glow in the evening light. Steam rose from the water, swirling in gentle clouds that mingled with the cool night air, creating an inviting contrast between warmth and serenity.

Alex slipped into the water, feeling the soothing heat envelop him, melting away the fatigue from his recent journey. The mineral-rich water seemed to ease his muscles instantly, and he took a deep breath, relaxing as he leaned back against the smooth stone.

The girls joined him, each one letting out a sigh of contentment as they settled into the water. Gracier, his adoptive sister, settled nearby, her cheeks flushed with excitement and perhaps a hint of bashfulness. Alex couldnʼt help but notice her more keenly than before. He was aware now—more than he had ever allowed himself to admit—of her true feelings. She was no longer just his little sister in his eyes; slowly, he began to see her as a young woman, a member of the opposite gender. He caught himself, mentally shifting the way he addressed her in his heart, giving her more space, more respect as her own person, even as he struggled to balance the warmth of their sibling bond with this budding awareness.

Gracier met his gaze briefly, a soft blush on her face before she looked away, smiling shyly. She seemed content, her laughter light and easy as she chatted with the others. Artemia leaned back, her hair wet and shimmering as droplets trailed down her neck and shoulders, reflecting the light in a way that made her look almost ethereal. Sera, always watchful and steady, sat near the edge, gazing out at the peaceful scenery with a calm expression.

Saeko and Sakuya, ever playful, splashed each other gently, their laughter filling the air. They teased Alex good-naturedly, making lighthearted comments that brought a smile to his face. Luna, the quietest among them, simply closed her eyes, seeming to lose herself in the peaceful atmosphere, her expression serene.

The warmth of the water, combined with the soft murmur of conversation, created a cocoon of intimacy. Alex felt a profound sense of happiness as he looked around, cherishing this rare, peaceful moment with the people who meant the most to him. The girls, each unique in their own way, surrounded him with an unspoken support and affection that he had come to depend on.

As he took in the scene, Alex couldnʼt help but feel grateful for each of them and for the bonds they shared. He felt a renewed determination to protect this happiness, and as his gaze drifted back to Gracier, he knew that, little by little, he would find a way to honor her feelings—acknowledging the changes within himself as he looked toward a future where they could all remain together as he stand at the top and live extremely long with them.

That evening, Alex took on the role of chef, determined to make a special meal for everyone as a way of showing his gratitude and appreciation. The fortressʼs kitchen was spacious and well-equipped, filled with the enticing aroma of spices, herbs, and fresh ingredients as Alex, Luna, and Saeko prepared an unforgettable dinner.

Luna was by his side, quietly chopping vegetables with practiced ease, her hands delicate but precise. She didnʼt speak much, but her presence was calming, her movements careful and graceful. She had a natural sense for cooking, instinctively knowing how to balance flavors, and Alex was grateful for her quiet support. Now and then, sheʼd offer a gentle suggestion or hand him spices at just the right moment, keeping the rhythm of the kitchen flowing smoothly.

On the other side, Saeko was much more lively. She moved with a blend of energy and grace, tackling every task with enthusiasm. She hummed cheerfully as she marinated meats and prepared sauces, her bright smile adding warmth to the atmosphere. She even teased Alex a bit, making light-hearted comments about his cooking skills, to which heʼd respond with a grin and a playful remark of his own.

As the main dishes simmered and roasted, the trio worked seamlessly together. Alex focused on creating a perfect balance of flavors, adjusting seasonings and tasting each dish along the way. They prepared a range of dishes, drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese cuisine with a few unique twists. There was a hearty miso soup with tofu and green onions, freshly rolled sushi with a variety of fillings, and crispy tempura made from seasonal vegetables and shrimp.

For the main course, Alex created a succulent teriyaki chicken, its skin golden and caramelized, accompanied by a rich sauce that gleamed under the kitchen lights. Luna prepared a delicate side of steamed rice, each grain perfectly cooked and fluffy, while Saeko took charge of assembling a colorful salad with crisp greens, sliced cucumbers, and a light, tangy dressing that complemented the rest of the meal.

As they finished, Alex stepped back, admiring the spread they had created together. The table was laid out with vibrant dishes, each one reflecting the care and effort that had gone into its preparation. The others gathered around, their faces lighting up with anticipation as they took in the sight of the feast.

Everyone dug in, laughter and conversation filling the dining hall as they enjoyed the meal together. The flavors were rich and comforting, and each dish was met with enthusiastic praise. Gracier in particular was delighted, piling her plate high and complimenting Alex with each bite, her eyes shining with appreciation. Artemia offered a graceful nod of approval, while Seraʼs usually reserved demeanor softened as she savored each flavor.

As the evening continued, the atmosphere grew even warmer, with everyone exchanging stories, laughter, and gratitude for being together. For Alex, seeing their happy faces, hearing their laughter, and sharing this meal filled him with a sense of fulfillment he hadnʼt felt in a long time. He knew that these were the moments worth fighting for—their smiles, their joy, their friendship.
