Death Guns In Another World

Chapter 1862 - 1651: Two Versus One 3

The tension in the arena rose as Sakuya and Luna stepped into the ring, their contrasting energies creating an air of anticipation. Sakuyaʼs dark hair shimmered under the sunlight, the strands lifted by the faint winds swirling around her. Her katana rested at her side, gleaming in her steady grip. Beside her, Luna stood calm and focused, her golden hair catching the light, a serene smile hinting at her confidence. While she held no weapon, her stance radiated a readiness that belied her role as the partyʼs healer.

Alex, his blade humming faintly with a blend of fire and ice magic, stood across from them. His usually relaxed demeanor was replaced by a serious expression. He knew this match would push his abilities to the limit. Sakuyaʼs mastery of both wind and space magic made her unpredictable, while Lunaʼs combination of light-enhanced strength and water-based defense gave her an edge that few healers could match.

”Letʼs begin,” Alex said, his voice steady.

Sakuya and Luna exchanged a nod. Then, in perfect sync, they moved.

Sakuya struck first, dashing forward with blinding speed. Her katana sliced through the air in a swift arc, the wind enhancing her attack with razor-sharp currents. Alex met her strike head-on, his sword colliding with hers in a burst of sparks. The force of her wind-infused attack sent a sharp gust rippling outward, but Alex stood firm, pushing her back with a counterstrike.

At the same moment, Luna advanced from his flank, her body glowing faintly with the light magic enhancing her strength. She threw a powerful punch aimed at Alexʼs side, her movements swift and precise. Alex pivoted, raising his blade just in time to block her strike. The impact reverberated through his arm, the strength behind her attack surprising him.

”Youʼre not holding back,” Alex noted, a smirk tugging at his lips.

”Of course not,” Luna replied, her serene expression unwavering.

Sakuya seized the opportunity created by Lunaʼs attack, vanishing in a blink of distorted air. She reappeared a split second later behind Alex, her katana descending in a sharp, calculated slash. Alex turned, parrying her blade with his own in a shower of sparks. But Sakuya was relentless, her strikes coming faster and more erratic, each one accompanied by bursts of wind that threatened to unbalance Alex.

Meanwhile, Luna raised her hands, summoning a shimmering barrier of water. The liquid swirled around her arms, forming a protective shield as she launched a series of fluid strikes. She alternated between punches and kicks, her movements graceful yet powerful, her water barrier absorbing and redirecting any counterattacks Alex attempted.

Alex was forced to divide his attention, blocking Sakuyaʼs relentless katana strikes while dodging Lunaʼs glowing fists. When Sakuyaʼs blade created a sudden arc of wind aimed at his chest, Alex responded with a sweeping wave of fire, the heat pushing both women back momentarily.

Not one to stay on the defensive for long, Alex shifted his stance and went on the offensive. He channeled ice into his sword, the blade glowing with frosty energy as he swung it in a wide arc. A wave of freezing mist spread across the arena, aiming to slow his opponents.

Luna reacted instantly, summoning a dome of water that shielded her and Sakuya from the cold. The ice cracked and hissed as it collided with the liquid barrier, but Luna held firm, her golden glow intensifying as she maintained the defense.

Sakuya, however, saw an opening. Using her space magic, she vanished again, reappearing above Alex with her katana poised for a devastating downward strike. Alex barely had time to react, raising his sword to block the attack. The impact sent a shockwave rippling through the ground, but Alex held his ground, countering with a burst of fire that forced Sakuya to retreat.

Luna, undeterred, closed the gap once more. This time, she enhanced her movements with bursts of light magic, her speed rivaling Sakuyaʼs as she delivered a series of rapid strikes. Alex parried each one, but Lunaʼs relentless assault kept him on his toes.

Sakuya, now at a distance, sheathed her katana briefly and focused her energy. The air around her distorted as she manipulated space itself, creating several shimmering portals that encircled Alex. From each portal, bursts of compressed wind shot out, aiming to overwhelm him from all directions.

Alex gritted his teeth, summoning a massive wave of fire that spiraled around him, incinerating the wind projectiles before they could reach him. But the effort left him open for a split second, and Luna capitalized on the opportunity. She launched herself at him with a light-infused punch, the force of her attack sending him skidding backward across the arena.

”Impressive,” Alex said, catching his breath.

”But itʼs my turn.”

Alex planted his sword into the ground, channeling both fire and ice magic simultaneously. The arena trembled as fiery fissures and icy spikes erupted from the ground, forcing Sakuya and Luna to dodge. Sakuya used her space magic to teleport out of harmʼs way, while Luna summoned a torrent of water to shield herself.

But Alex wasnʼt done. He raised his sword, sending a whirlwind of fire and ice toward Sakuya, who barely managed to deflect it with a portal that redirected the attack into the sky. Luna, meanwhile, attempted to close the gap again, but Alex met her with a sweeping slash of his sword, the bladeʼs icy edge forcing her to retreat.

The battle reached its climax as all three fighters poured their energy into one final exchange. Sakuya created multiple portals, each one launching gusts of wind that converged on Alex. At the same time, Luna summoned a massive wave of water, combining it with her light magic to create a radiant, shimmering tidal force.

Alex responded by unleashing a torrent of fire and ice, the two elements swirling together in a chaotic yet controlled storm. The three attacks collided in the center of the arena, creating an explosion of energy that sent shockwaves rippling outward.

When the dust settled, Alex stood at the center of the arena, his sword lowered but his stance steady. Sakuya and Luna, though breathing heavily, remained standing as well, their determination shining in their eyes.

”That was incredible,” Alex said, his tone filled with genuine admiration. ”You two are a formidable team.”

Sakuya sheathed her katana, a small smile playing on her lips. ”Youʼre not so bad yourself.”

Luna, her golden glow fading, nodded.

”Thank you, Alex. That was a battle to remember.”

Alex extended a hand to both of them. ”Letʼs keep pushing each other to be better.”

Inwardly he was feeling refreshed as he was fighting differently than usual. Trying various combinations could be helpful, especially if the enemy had already prepared countermeasures to his usual way of fighting.
