Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 190: Chapter 112: Guidance from a Master (Part 2)

Lawrence Winters shrugged and said, ”I’m not a businessman either, so of course I don’t know what’s going on.”

”All I know is that the Foster Clan spent a fortune developing this residential complex, and now there’s a problem. Even though the houses are finished, not a single unit has been sold.”

”With funds unable to circulate, they’re chased daily by banks for debt repayment.”

”Adam Foster, the elder of the Foster Clan, was so stressed at the time that he fell into a severe illness, nearly passing away.”

”He hastily summoned his only daughter, who was studying abroad, to return home and help revive the family business.”

”Later, they sold off the completed complex at a low price to the Spencer Group, which was just starting to venture into the mainland real estate market.”

”And Cameron Spencer, that old fox, took over the estate. Rumor has it, he received expert guidance, went to Capital City to find connections, and suddenly turned the situation around.”

”The houses that couldn’t be sold by the Foster Consortium became highly desirable under the Spencer Group.”

”Not only in Z City, but even wealthy people in G City rushed with heaps of cash to buy properties.”

”The Spencer Group seized the opportunity to launch new projects on the same plot of land.”

”This time, they weren’t selling ready-built houses; instead, they sold off-plan properties.”

”With just a showroom and sales blueprints, they could conduct auctions as if it were real estate.”

”The Spencer Group used this piece of land and residential complex bought cheaply from the Foster Consortium to mark their first successful entry into the mainland.”

”Since then, they’ve soared rapidly, soon climbing into the top ten of the national wealthy list.”

”Meanwhile, the Foster Consortium plummeted, not only disappearing from the top ten but unable to even find a spot in the top hundred.”

Kenneth Osborne listened in amazement and laughed, ”No wonder everyone thinks the Foster Consortium is newly established. Twenty years is an entire generation.”

”Yeah, that’s why people our age think the Foster Consortium only emerged in recent years through investing in high-end homes and social media.”

”However, my uncle and mom’s generation know the Foster Consortium as the true long-established family, while the Spencer Group is just a nouveau riche.”

Lawrence Winters casually used the term ”nouveau riche.”

Kenneth Osborne laughed, ”The Spencer Group’s history in the mainland is indeed short, but it has roots in H City. Surely it can’t be called a nouveau riche?”

”Ha, well, my uncle says it’s nouveau riche, so it’s nouveau riche. —— Whether it is or not.” Influenced by his uncle Nick Zeller, Lawrence Winters always had a mediocre impression of the Spencer Group.

Recently, she had been tricked by the Spencer Group herself, making her dislike them even more.

Kenneth Osborne understood her resentment and didn’t continue the conversation.

Besides, what the Spencer Group did wasn’t right either, Kenneth Osborne truly disliked their actions from the bottom of his heart.

After Lawrence Winters finished talking, her cappuccino was almost finished.

She glanced at her phone, ”It’s about time, I have to get going.”

Kenneth Osborne wanted to stand up, ”I’ll walk you over.”

Lawrence Winters pressed his shoulder down to make him sit, ”No need, I’ll just take the elevator. It’s convenient. You stay here and wait for me, don’t change your seat, I’m worried I won’t find you when I come down.”

Kenneth Osborne nodded with a smile, ”Then, I won’t see you off.”

Lawrence Winters picked up her small bag, and as she stood up, a man that looked like a father and son walked past her.

This time, Kenneth Osborne also saw them.

He merely glanced at them before looking away.

The younger man turned his head deliberately, flashing Lawrence Winters a smile.

Kenneth Osborne frowned, thinking these two must be father and son, because the young man had that charming, fox-like face...

Lawrence Winters was dazzled by the young man’s smile.

If it weren’t for her years of experience with Kenneth Osborne, she would likely have been charmed by that smile.

Such a handsome guy, why isn’t he in the entertainment industry?

Lawrence Winters muttered as she walked out of Starbucks.

The middle-aged and young man happened to walk into a private elevator; an ordinary person like Lawrence Winters wouldn’t have access to such a ”CEO exclusive” elevator.

With the help of the front desk receptionist, she got into the regular employee elevator and went up to the 28th floor.

This is the Foster Consortium’s floor, and also the headquarters of NewHuman Entertainment Ltd.

She found the company’s entry, opened the glass door, and said to the receptionist, ”I’m Lawrence Winters, here to meet your CEO’s secretary. He arranged to meet me here at ten this morning.”

She didn’t say ”interview,” because she didn’t think she was here for an interview, but rather to familiarize herself with the environment.

Upon hearing the name ”Lawrence Winters,” the receptionist immediately beamed, extending her arm and said, ”This way, please. Our CEO and the CEO’s secretary are already waiting for you in the office.”

Lawrence Winters was surprised, ”CEO? I’m meeting your CEO too?”

”Yes, didn’t the CEO’s secretary tell you?” The receptionist smiled while sizing her up.

Lawrence Winters felt slightly anxious and followed the receptionist inside.

The partitions here were all transparent glass, giving a spacious view.

Except for the large office at the very end, with its tightly shut oak door, beside which hung a small wooden sign displaying three black letters with gold borders, ”Edward Foster.”

Lawrence Winters found the name somewhat familiar.

The receptionist began introducing, ”This is Mr. Foster’s office. Please step inside.”

Lawrence Winters understood and smiled, ”So this is your Mr. Foster’s name?”

”Indeed.” The receptionist proudly glanced at the nameplate, knocked on the door, and spoke into a display by the door, ”Mr. Foster, Miss Winters has arrived.”

A clear male voice called from inside, ”Come in.”

The receptionist opened the door, ”Miss Winters, please come in.”

Lawrence Winters stepped inside and saw the man with exquisite, picturesque features who she had brushed past at Starbucks, staring at her with surprise.

”You’re Lawrence Winters?!” Edward Foster exclaimed, then looked down at the photo Lucas Harlow had given him, suddenly realizing he’d been played, and he couldn’t help but fiercely smash his fist on the table, ”Damn you, Lucas Harlow! Do you have a death wish?!”
