Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 167: Chapter 102: Life Is Like a Play, All Depends on Acting Skills (Part 2)

”You have money, you’re a big company, you’re big bosses. I’m an ordinary student, an ordinary citizen, without power or influence, so you think you can just humiliate and oppress me at will?!”

”I’m telling you, stop dreaming! You don’t need to fire me, I’m leaving on my own!”

”I am now withdrawing my official application for the Spencer Group’s PR department!”

”Did you hear that clearly? It has nothing to do with whether you want me or not! Today, I’m the one withdrawing my application!”

”A warrior can be killed but not humiliated!”

”As long as I live, I will not accept any offer from the Spencer Group!”

After delivering this impassioned speech, Lawrence Winters stormed out quickly.

With the female deputy director still in shock, he brushed past her, pulled open the door, and rushed out.

Outside, the elevator happened to stop on this floor. He swiftly rushed into the elevator and pressed the button for the first floor.

Exiting the elevator, he jogged all the way to the parking lot to find where Kenneth Osborne was waiting.

He opened the car door and got in, panting as he said, ”Hurry! Drive!”

”What happened?” Kenneth Osborne looked at him in astonishment, noticing his eyes were slightly red and swollen, indicating that he had been crying.

His heart sank as he started the car while observing him.

The Volkswagen Lavida roared and shot off like an arrow.

Once they were on the highway, Lawrence Winters took out a tissue to wipe his face. Looking at the rearview mirror, he smiled in satisfaction and said, ”Life is really like a play; it all depends on your acting skills! — My acting has reached a new level!”

”Can you tell me what’s happened now?” Kenneth Osborne asked somewhat anxiously.

Lawrence held his phone and said flatly, ”Nothing much, just fell into someone else’s trap.”

”A trap? Did you not answer the interview questions well?” Kenneth Osborne didn’t immediately catch on, thinking that Lawrence might have made a mistake during the interview.

Lawrence shook his head, ”They didn’t even ask me any serious interview questions. Forget it, I’ll show you the recording of today’s interview when we get back.”

He winked at Kenneth Osborne.

Kenneth recalled that he had told him to record the interview process with his phone, and it really came in handy.

He felt relieved yet had an indescribable discomfort in his heart.

...

As Lawrence Winters rushed out of the interview room and entered the elevator, the three interviewers in the room regained their senses.

The female deputy director chuckled coldly.

She turned and pointed at the room, calmly saying, ”Immediately send a formal letter to the PR department at Yancheng University! Tell them that their graduating student Lawrence Winters was rude to the interviewers during the interview at our company, arguing endlessly, and also went into a destructive frenzy, damaging the surveillance.”

”Out of respect for Yancheng University, we won’t ask them for compensation, but they cannot recommend a mentally unstable student to us. — Also, make sure to leak this to social media.”

Then she said to the two male subordinates who were still stunned, ”You come here, smash the surveillance cameras, then the interview room, take photos, and send them along with the formal letter to the head of the PR department at Yancheng University and their student union.”

She looked at them calmly, clearly having planned this for a long time.

At first, the two male subordinates didn’t dare to act until the PR department director walked in from the corridor, who was also their big boss’s second daughter, Summer Spencer.

She nodded at the deputy director and said with a smile, ”Well done!”

Then these two suddenly realized what was happening, as if waking from a dream, and started trashing the interview room, while another went to destroy the surveillance.

By the time Lawrence Winters and Kenneth Osborne returned to Yancheng University, the adverse outcome of his interview at the Spencer Group’s PR department had already reached the office of the PR department head and the student union at Yancheng University.

The department head’s office, of course, would not convict Lawrence based only on their side of the story, so they simultaneously checked the credibility of the photos and called Lawrence.

When Lawrence got off the car and received the call, he was so shocked he could hardly speak.

Oh my God!

What kind of grudge or resentment is this!

Luckily, he had a phone and Kenneth!

After listening to the call from the department, Lawrence agreed to go to the department head’s office immediately to clarify the facts.

After hanging up, he stared blankly at Kenneth Osborne, who had just gotten out of the car, and suddenly burst into tears, then hugged him tightly.

Students inside and outside the dorm were stunned, not knowing what had happened.

”...Is Kenneth breaking up with him?”

”It must be, or else why would he be crying so sadly?”

Students whispered excitedly, exchanging guesses.

However, when they saw Kenneth Osborne gently holding Lawrence Winters in his arms and comforting him softly, they realized how wrong they were.

”...Damn! I used to be immune to dog food, but not today... how sweet!”

”Girls don’t cry easily, only because they don’t have Kenneth Osborne!”

...

At this moment, all of Kenneth Osborne’s attention was focused on Lawrence Winters. Listening to Lawrence sobbingly recount what had happened, his face also darkened.

”Let’s go, I’ll take you to your department. While we’re in the car, play me the video you recorded.” Kenneth Osborne reached back to open the car door again, asking Lawrence to get in.

Then he walked to the other side, opened the door, got in, and stepped on the gas, heading straight to the PR building of Yancheng University.

Meanwhile, on social media, a small video titled ”Yancheng University Student Fails Interview, Goes on a Rampage at Interview Company Room” was going viral.

Then the topic #YanchengUniversityFinalYearFemaleStudentNoraWintersGoesInsaneatInterviewRoom# quietly climbed into the top ten trending searches.
