Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 171: Chapter 104: Thank You for Giving Me This Chance to Kick Someone When They’re Down

The department head adjusted his glasses on the bridge of his nose and sighed, ”Don’t worry, the university and the department will stand by you, even if there’s no evidence...”

”I have evidence,” Lawrence Winters suddenly said. ”Don’t worry, I have evidence here.”

With that, she took out her phone.

”What? You have evidence?!” Everyone was both surprised and delighted.

Everyone was ready to support Lawrence Winters even without any proof.

And now, Lawrence Winters actually said she had evidence to clear herself, which was an unexpected delight.

Lawrence Winters opened a video on her phone and said, ”I have two videos and one audio clip.”

”The two videos show me entering the interview room and leaving the interview room.”

”I couldn’t hold the phone during the interview, so there’s only audio.”

While explaining this, Lawrence Winters played the videos.

As she played them, she said, ”You can see the recorded times.”

”Especially the time I left the interview room compared to the time they posted the video accusing me of ’vandalizing’ the interview room. It’s clear I had already left.”

”They staged it themselves to defame me!”

After saying this, Lawrence Winters started playing the audio.

She turned up the volume, and since the room was quiet, the effect was very clear.

The female deputy director’s voice was particularly sharp and shrill.

The department head listened, furrowing his brow in anger, and said, ”When their company contacted our department, they spoke so nicely. Turns out they were deliberately setting up a trap for our student! —— Truly despicable!”

”It’s hard to believe a big company like Spencer Group would do something like this!”

Lawrence Winters said calmly, ”...This is like a bad apple spoiling the barrel.”

”It’s obvious someone in their company is abusing their power for personal retaliation.”

The department head snorted, ”Who cares who they are, bullying our students like this won’t be tolerated!”

He then turned to Lawrence Winters and said, ”Can you send me those two videos and the audio? I’ll forward them to the school leaders who are very concerned about this matter.”

Lawrence Winters felt a bit uneasy when she heard that even the school leaders were aware of it.

She couldn’t help but glance at Kenneth Osborne.

Kenneth Osborne nodded, ”Send it to the school leaders. I’m sure they’ll help us seek justice.”

The head of the department nodded repeatedly, ”Of course! Even without these videos and audio, we would stand up for you! —— Now that we have them, not only will they be humiliated, but we’re also going to sue them!”

”Our law department at Metropolitan North University has produced top-notch trial lawyers like Chief Lawyer Gu!”

Seeing Kenneth Osborne also agree, Lawrence Winters quickly sent the videos and audio to the head of the department.

The department head immediately forwarded them to the relevant personnel in the school leadership office.

Metropolitan North University was very efficient in this matter.

Within five minutes, they posted the videos, with some facial blurring applied, and the clear audio on the university’s official blog, and simultaneously tagged Cameron Spencer’s official blog.

@Cameron Spencer, Mr. Spencer, could you please explain why our student had already left your interview room, yet you still accused her of trashing the room?

@Cameron Spencer, Mr. Spencer, could you also explain if this is how your company’s public relations department’s deputy director conducts interviews? Such blatant abuse of power, could you tell us what grievance your company has with our school?

@Cameron Spencer, Mr. Spencer, the conduct of your company’s public relations department has greatly damaged the reputation of our students and our school. According to legal regulations, the defamatory message fabricated by your company’s public relations department about our students has been forwarded over five hundred times. Our Alumni Legal Association will represent our school in filing a lawsuit against your company.

Metropolitan North University’s official blog also tagged the Alumni Legal Association’s official blog.

This association is made up of the most elite law graduates in the entire country, even Chief Lawyer Gu is a member.

The university’s official blog reconstructed the entire incident in detail.

Even Chief Lawyer Gu, who rarely uses his personal Weibo to forward messages, personally stepped in and forwarded the incident.

As a result, this Weibo post shot up to ”explosive” status, climbing to the top of the trending search list.

More and more people voiced their opinions, expressing great dissatisfaction with the Spencer Group’s use of their vast resources to bully ordinary citizens.

The Spencer Group’s past unscrupulous actions during their development were also dragged into the spotlight and criticized.

At this moment, the Spencer family was in chaos.

Last time before the Spring Festival, Cameron Spencer had an incident which resulted in excessive blood loss. He had been recovering in Capital City for a while and now returned to a secluded manor in the Southern Region to continue his recuperation.

He was not interested in social media or these new networks, so he was not yet aware of the situation.

However, his secretary and subordinates all saw it. Seeing the increasing focus on the trending lists, with the influence on the Spencer Group growing more negative, they felt it necessary to report to Mr. Spencer.

”Miss Spring, you must make it clear to the boss. Why are you covering up for what the second miss did?”

Spring Spencer frowned, looking at the big ”explosive” word next to the trending search, and sighed, ”Alright, I really can’t handle it anymore. Even Chief Lawyer Gu has intervened; the trouble Summer caused this time is quite significant.”

”If it were only Metropolitan North University, we might still have room to maneuver. I had a brief encounter with that girl; she is a very kind young lady.” Spring Spencer shook her head regretfully and put her phone away, ”Call Summer and tell her to return to the Southern Region immediately to apologize to father personally.”

”This is as much as I can do for her.”
