Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 170: Chapter 104: Thank You for Giving Me This Chance to Kick Someone When They’re Down

The social media manager of the Foster Consortium’s official account, after posting the message, nervously called Edward Foster, the only son of their top boss, and said, ”Mr. Foster, the tweet you asked for has been posted.”

Edward Foster, the only son of the chairman of the Foster Consortium, graduated from Harvard’s MBA program last year. He returned to the country and was parachuted into the presidency of the NewHuman Entertainment Ltd., a subsidiary of the Foster Consortium.

He checked the tweet and discovered it had been retweeted hundreds of thousands of times within ten minutes, crucially without employing any bots, which was very satisfying to him.

He picked up his phone, dialed Lucas Harlow, and laughed, ”Lucas, aren’t I the best friend? Just one word from you, and I’ve used the Foster Consortium’s official account to hype things up for you.”

From the other end of the line came Lucas Harlow’s clear voice, ”This is a trivial matter for you, and it’s a win-win. Your grandpa must be thrilled.”

Edward Foster laughed heartily, ”Only you, Lucas, understand me! Our Foster Family hates that old bastard Cameron Spencer with a passion! I should be thanking you for giving me this opportunity to kick him while he’s down!”

”Don’t thank me, if you must thank someone, thank that student girl from Yen University.” Lucas Harlow said lightly, ”She’s quite unlucky. Even if she’s cleared her name, I doubt any big company would want to hire her now.”

”Who says so?! Anyone smeared by Spencer Group, we at the Foster Consortium would definitely hire them with a high salary!” Edward Foster said without hesitation, ”Besides, she’s a Yen University student; her abilities must be impressive! This is a worthwhile deal for me!”

Lucas Harlow chuckled, ”You’re hiring her without even knowing who she really is? Let me tell you, she’s not your average girl; she might not even care about your offer.”

”Heh heh, Lucas, let’s be honest. Tell me truthfully, do you know this ’Nora Winters’? — I’ve never seen you speak highly of anyone, not even when it’s someone in your own family who needs help.”

Edward Foster’s features were exquisitely handsome, even slightly delicate, but his nose was very prominent, like a solitary peak against the sky, making his entire face extraordinarily striking, much like his father’s.

At this moment, he squinted, looking a bit like a cunning fox.

Lucas Harlow remained silent for a moment, then laughed, ”...Just consider it me owing you a favor this time.”

”Ah ah ah! There really is something going on?!” Edward Foster’s interest was completely piqued, ”What kind of girl is she?! Do you have her photo?!”

Lucas Harlow thought for a while, with a smile at the corner of his lips, and then he sent Edward Foster a blurry photo secretly taken by his little assistant when he first met Lawrence Winters at the airport.

Full of curiosity, Edward Foster clicked on the photo, almost jumping out of his seat in shock.

”Lucas Harlow! You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?! This chubby girl is the one you owe me ’a favor’ for?! I thought she was some kind of fairy!”

”Why are you so shallow?” Lucas Harlow deliberately said, ”She’s extremely clever and quick-witted; you’re the blind one.”

”Bah! Not sure if it’s you who’s blind, or me!” Edward Foster retorted with a laugh, but he no longer speculated about the connection between Lucas Harlow and ”Nora Winters.”

A girl of this appearance would surely not catch Lucas Harlow’s eye.

But it didn’t matter to him, because he was hiring for the company, not searching for a wife, so why care about looks?

What’s important is her competence and ability to disgust that old bastard Cameron Spencer!

Edward Foster put down the phone and immediately called in his secretary: ”Draft up an employment letter for me, offering a high salary to this girl from Yen University to work in the PR department of NewHuman Entertainment Ltd.”

And instructed her, ”Make sure this employment letter is posted online, and don’t forget to tag the boss of the Spencer Group.”

”Understood, Mr. Foster.” The secretary agreed but still worriedly advised, ”Mr. Foster, have you consulted the chairman about this matter?”

”This small matter, do I need to consult my dad?” Edward Foster’s face darkened, ”You’re my secretary, not my boss, know your place.”

The secretary immediately apologized, ”Sorry, Mr. Foster, it was my mistake, I’ll draft the letter right now. As for the salary, do you want it publicized?”

Edward Foster thought for a moment, ”Don’t write a specific number, let’s discuss the specifics once she accepts the offer.”

The secretary sighed in relief, quickly smiled, ”I misunderstood your intention, I’ll take care of it.”

Edward Foster waved her off and proceeded to call his father.

...

At the same time, in the office of the Head of Public Relations at Yen University, everyone listened to Lawrence Winters’ account, feeling sympathy for her situation but also found it quite tricky.
