Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 164: Chapter 101: I’ve Seen Plenty of People Like You (Third Update)

Lawrence Winters pushed open the car door and got out, waving at Kenneth Osborne with a smile, and following the directions in the parking lot, she quickly arrived in front of the building.

Although Spencer Group’s headquarters is in the Southern Region, its Public Relations Department headquarters is in the North, over two hundred kilometers from Capital City, neither too far nor too close.

Lawrence Winters squinted at the building entrance for a moment, her occupational habits kicking in, and couldn’t help but recall the building’s location on the map, slowly curling her lips.

Unexpectedly, Spencer Group seems to really believe in Feng Shui...

This location is too suitable for its Public Relations Department.

No matter which country, large companies with status, regardless of where their headquarters are, their Public Relations Department will certainly be in their country’s capital, or near it.

Because that’s where they most need public relations.

But the exact location of the Public Relations Department is a rather delicate matter.

This issue is greatly related to the company’s founder and the type of business they conduct.

And Spencer Group, from what Lawrence Winters has gathered from publicly available information, its Public Relations Department is not suitable to be located directly in Capital City, not even within the Fifth Ring Road; that would be too conflicting.

Yet it cannot be too far away either, like their headquarters far in the Southern Region; that’s not suitable.

The best location, as per Lawrence Winters’ calculation ability, is just over two hundred kilometers northwest of Capital City, where this building is located.

And the building’s exterior is a concave-shaped red brick wall, exactly facing the direction of Capital City.

To quote an ancient saying, it’s absorbing the good Feng Shui flowing out from Capital City without being greedy, thus it won’t backfire; just borrowing strength to exert strength, the measure is really perfectly handled.

Lawrence Winters clicked her tongue twice in her heart, planning to inquire with her uncle after the interview about which Feng Shui Master chose this building location for Spencer Group.

Perhaps her uncle knows them.

Thinking this, Lawrence Winters entered the concave-shaped building’s lobby, turned on her phone’s recording function, and told the receptionist her purpose.

The receptionist politely said, ”Are you Lawrence Winters? Your interview is in Room 801 on the eighth floor, meeting our manager at ten-thirty. It’s just five minutes away now, this way please.”

The receptionist enthusiastically led her into the elevator, and pressed the button for the eighth floor.

Quickly, the elevator stopped on the eighth floor, and she stepped out to find the room number for her interview.

The time was just ten-thirty, not a minute early nor a minute late.

Lawrence Winters silently awarded herself a king-like ”punctuality” accolade.

She politely knocked on the door.

A stern, stiff voice came from inside: ”Enter.”

Lawrence Winters raised an eyebrow, tucked her phone into her skirt pocket, and slowly pushed the door open, walking in.

This room seemed to be a small conference room, but was rearranged.

In the middle of the room was a vacant space with only a plain white plastic chair.

It’s the very common simple folding plastic chair that costs ten bucks for three at a wholesale market.

So out of place with the room’s decor.

Facing the chair, against the wall, was a small conference table, with three middle-aged individuals sitting behind it.

One woman and two men, all looking serious, dressed traditionally.

Lawrence Winters thought, are these the Public Relations Department people at Spencer Group?

Quite distinctive indeed.

They immediately seem like unapproachable people, making one want to keep a distance, not even bothering to look.

Of course, she couldn’t avoid looking.

Smiling, she slightly bowed to the three and said, ”Hello, I am Lawrence Winters.”

”Yes, we know, have a seat.” The middle-aged woman sitting in the center interrupted her, pointing to the white plastic chair in the room’s center.

Lawrence Winters as politely as possible said, ”Okay, thank you.”

She walked to that seemingly very cheap plastic chair and sat down, back straight, legs together, hands naturally resting on her knees.

Though just seated on a plastic chair, her posture was impeccable, as if attending a national rich list award ceremony.

The three persons paused slightly.

The two middle-aged men on each side involuntarily glanced at the middle-aged woman in the center.

The middle-aged woman showed no expression and said to Lawrence Winters, ”I am the Deputy Director of the Public Relations Department, next to me are the heads of the Department’s External Relations Section and Content Section.”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

Isn’t Spencer Group a private company?

Why does the corporate structure resemble that of government agencies?
