Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 157: Chapter 97: Lawrence Winters’ Views on Love (Second Update)

Lawrence Winters ate happily, glancing at him with a smile, and said, ”Kenneth, I’m not disgusted! You saw I even ate the food you picked with your chopsticks just now!”

”Be confident! In my heart, you’ll always be my best friend and confidante!”

Kenneth Osborne: ...

What the heck, best friend and confidante!

Kenneth Osborne wished Lawrence Winters would take a good look at him. In what way did he resemble a woman?!

The term ”best friend and confidante” was no less than a ”nice guy card,” almost making Kenneth Osborne question his existence.

His expression momentarily darkened uncontrollably but quickly returned to normal, with a faint smile hanging by his lips as he continued to eat his food gracefully and casually.

Like attending a banquet at Buckingham Palace with impeccable etiquette, paired with his stunningly handsome face, he made people feel refreshed with just one glance.

However, Lawrence Winters still noticed his displeasure.

She glanced at Kenneth Osborne a bit anxiously, wondering where she had said something wrong just now?

Or did the matter of picking dishes hurt Kenneth’s feelings?

He was so good to her, and she even despised his chopsticks...

But honestly, she did feel disgusted!

Lawrence Winters thought desperately that even Kenneth, let alone her uncle and mother, couldn’t use their chopsticks to pick food for her.

She wasn’t a germaphobe, but she was pretty particular about chopsticks.

This disgust had nothing to do with who the other person was.

Moreover, even though she was disgusted, didn’t she eat it just now?

That’s a treatment neither her uncle nor her mother received!

Of course, that steamed pork rib in black bean sauce was indeed quite delicious...

Lawrence Winters couldn’t help but lick her lips.

Her skin was smooth and flawless, with a pale lip color. She never wore makeup, rarely even used lip balm, and her complexion had an almost translucent alabaster-like texture.

Kenneth Osborne happened to look up and caught a glimpse of her pale pink lips, which resembled a type of rose his sister once kept called a ”Lychee” pink rose.

It should have been a passionate rose, yet its color was as crystal clear and pink as the freshly peeled lychee.

Just like her, maturing more and more, with a mix of unaffected charm.

Kenneth Osborne’s gaze grew more unreadable, and he couldn’t help but tighten his throat.

Lawrence Winters saw Kenneth Osborne’s gaze nearly spitting fire, her eyes darted, thinking she should coax him well.

She scooted a bit towards Kenneth Osborne, tentatively picked up his chopsticks, grabbed another piece of steamed pork rib, and placed it in her bowl.

Then, putting back his chopsticks, she picked up her own chopsticks, lifted that piece of steamed pork rib, exaggeratedly put it in her mouth, and let out a satisfied ”mm” sound, looking at Kenneth Osborne pleasingly, and said unclearly, ”Kenneth, these ribs are really tasty... I picked them with your chopsticks...”

After speaking, she cutely blinked.

Her long and dense eyelashes were like two little fans, gently fluttering, stirring a storm in Kenneth Osborne’s once-calm inner sea.

He was so unsettled by her simple actions, he quickly withdrew his gaze, lowered his eyes to the shrimp dumplings, radish cakes, and salted fish and chicken eggplant pot in his bowl, and said in a light voice, ”Is that so? Then if you have a boyfriend in the future, what would he be to you?”

Lawrence Winters suddenly came to a realization, laughed, and raised her arm, slapping Kenneth Osborne’s shoulder forcefully, ”Kenneth, so you were worried about this! You should have said so earlier!”

”Hmm?” Kenneth Osborne had his head half-lowered, but raised his eyes to glance at her, with the tail end of his delicate almond eyes slightly upturned, drawing a breathtaking curve, as captivating as his current expression was both alluring and dangerous.

Lawrence Winters, with a strong desire to live, grabbed his hand, her dark eyes curved, and said flatteringly, ”Actually, Kenneth really doesn’t need to worry. What’s a boyfriend? They always end up breaking up.”

”As the saying goes, friends are like limbs, boyfriends are like clothes. No matter how many boyfriends I have, it won’t affect our revolutionary friendship, Kenneth!”

Kenneth Osborne laughed out of exasperation, ”Boyfriends are like clothes? How many boyfriends do you plan to have? Hmm?”

”...How many? Haven’t thought about it for now.” Lawrence Winters answered honestly, ”But I saw summaries online that say generally girls need to go through three boyfriends to know what kind of person they should truly be with.”

”So you mean you need at least three boyfriends?” Kenneth Osborne’s eyes narrowed with displeasure.

”Kenneth! Don’t tell my uncle and mom, please!” Lawrence Winters felt a stirring in her heart, suddenly like she recalled something, ”They’d kill me!”

”Heh, you do know this is wrong?” At this point, Kenneth Osborne regretted not getting a bottle of wine earlier, wishing he could get drunk and be done with it.
