Warhammer Divine Throne

”All hope is shattered, Didrik henceforth hates everything. He ventured alone to the Chaos Wasteland, where he spent over a hundred years. Paladin Didrik has become Aizhen, he has become the Chaos Eternal Divine Chosen, slowly uniting various tribes...” Tygris said calmly, ”When he moves southward, the Moment of Destruction will come.”

”Is there no way to stop it?” Lake God Witch Mogiana asked, ”We could assemble an expeditionary army...”

”There’s no way. Except for Chaos itself, nothing can operate in the Northern Wasteland and the even further Chaos Wasteland for long. No creature can manage it.” Tygris shook his head, ”We can only prepare, but it’s easier said than done to unite mortals. Even Ossuan, such a Grotto Heaven Blessed Land created by the Ancient Saints, is seriously divided between the Inner Kingdom and Outer Kingdom. The elves of the Outer Kingdom must constantly be vigilant against Dark Elf invasions and Northern Barbarian plundering, whereas the Inner Kingdom remains quietly peaceful and disconnected from worldly affairs. His Majesty Phoenix King Finuba often locks himself in the Phoenix Royal Court, occasionally showing up.”

Mogiana naturally understood why the environment of the Chaos Wasteland was such, and the Lake God Witch said no more.

”What about Prince Terion?” Laine pondered the question.

”After becoming the Warlord, my brother has always hoped to unite all of Ossuan’s forces, but... this is something the Eternal Queen Ailarielle does not allow, because the core political philosophy of the Asur is to never let the entire nation’s power fall into the hands of a despot. So balance is omnipresent in the Elf Council. My brother and I both benefit, and also suffer from this.” Tygris discussed the internal situation of the High Elves with Laine.

In this world, almost all forces share a trait, which is the relatively rare occurrence of a unified regime. Due to limitations in productivity, transportation, and communication, each force is composed of many independent kingdoms—Dwarves, Elves, the Empire, and Brittania included. If external pressure is minor, like in the Southern Realm, there will never be a unified regime.

This method is correct; otherwise, when foreign enemies invade the borders, perhaps Chaos or Green Skins would already have destroyed entire provinces, and the capital’s army would only then prepare to depart.

(Just like Ming Chengzu Zhu Di’s five campaigns against Mongolia, the vanguard has already clashed with the Tatars on the grasslands, yet many Ming Dynasty troops are still gathering in Tongzhou waiting to set off.)

Only when the external threat becomes immense will these forces be compelled to integrate, whether Charlemagne, the First Knight King Arthur, or Savior Ludwig—this was how they completed unification. If not for the Chaos Demons invading Ossuan, Ailario, who was originally a navigator, wouldn’t have become the Phoenix King.

The politics of the High Elves are somewhat similar to Brittania. The Phoenix King, being the Phoenix Lord Asuyan Divine Chosen, is the nominal supreme ruler of the High Elves. However, just as Lake God Witch Mogiana oversees and influences the entire kingdom’s direction, the High Elves also have the Eternal Queen, who is usually born to the previous Phoenix King and Eternal Queen. She is the supreme ruler alongside the Phoenix King. When the Phoenix King faces serious issues in governance, she can hold the Phoenix King accountable—for instance, the renowned ”Foolhardy King” Mowville took responsibility for the military defeat and walked into the Asuyan Holy Fire, turning into ashes.

Therefore, the High Elves also have a dual-headed political system. The Phoenix Royal Court is located in the Inner Ring South, in Lothern, the capital of Ossuan and the leading kingdom among the High Elves, the Ithain Kingdom. The Eternal Queen’s Courtyard is located in the Inner Ring North’s Avalon Kingdom in Eden Valley.

Both Terion and Tygris are Guardians of Ossuan, which is a reward from Phoenix King Finuba for their formidable martial valor, magic abilities, and noble reputation, but also a form of restraint.

As Guardians of Ossuan, Terion and Tygris must be subject to the Phoenix King; they do not have the ability to declare war independently. Terion is also the companion of Eternal Queen Ailarielle, and Tygris, as Supreme Grandmaster, is subject to many restrictions.

In another light, the Tai Brothers are not strong enough to overwhelm the entire High Elf race.

”Humans are the same, Lord Tygris. Everyone heals and forgets the pain,” Laine said with a wry smile, ”After Savior Ludwig ended his over fifty-year reign, the Prince-Electors resumed their internal strife and various intrigues, and the previously unified front has fragmented.”

”But Emperor Carl Franz is different. He is a man of talent among human emperors.” Tygris nodded, speaking to Laine, ”Apart from meeting you this time, I’m also going to Brunswick to see him. Would you like to come with me?”

”To meet Emperor Carl Franz? But I’m having my wedding on Lilith’s Day...” Laine was somewhat hesitant, though he of course wanted to accompany Tygris to the Imperial Capital. Just Tygris’s grand presence and supreme status in the eyes of the imperial nobility would offer Laine many conveniences, a plan with no drawbacks.

However, Laine was about to get married, and after the wedding, he and Surya would be heading to the Lake Fairy Tower for their honeymoon, arranged by the Lake Fairy.

”I know, so I will wait until all your matters are finished before departing. In that time, I will visit King’s Forest in Aisloron Forest to meet King of the Forest Olein and Queen Airel. It’s time to discuss with our brethren how to confront the threat of Chaos.” Tygris said understandingly, ”I will respect your time, and I hope you’ll respect mine then. You can bring your people along, including your wife.”

”Then I have no issue.” Laine agreed now; Tygris was considerate enough of his situation that he even felt a bit embarrassed.

After a few more words, the sky outside gradually darkened, and Laine continued, ”The Lady has prepared dinner, and I invite Lord Tygris to join later.”

”Hmm.” Tygris nodded calmly, being one of the few who knew the truth behind the Lake Fairy. As Supreme Grandmaster, he certainly understood that the true form of the Lake Fairy is the High Elf Moon Goddess Lilith, so he also comprehended what kind of Divine Favor Laine received. From the looks of it, Laine was indeed deserving of Lilith’s favor, in terms of his demeanor, confidence, and martial valor.

Lilith’s First Divine Chosen suddenly cracked a joke, ”Your brother is stronger, but you are more famous. Why is that? Do you have a conflict with him?”

”Not true.” Laine chuckled and shook his head, ”You might find it hard to believe, but my brother has grown weary of slaughter. To him, feeding his cattle and sheep is more important than fighting.”

”Is that so... the Asur are like this too; many nobles and mages of the Inner Kingdom prefer to put their energy into aesthetics, arts, opera, and music, and planting is also a hobby. I understand.” Tygris, no stranger to this situation, remarked that many grandmasters of the Hos White Tower live such lives, ”But I still hope Sir Angerong will stand out when necessary; this world needs heroes.”

”Poof~” Laine laughed continuously, ”Haha~ He will; my brother never isolates himself from the world. When he believes it necessary, he will come forth... Lord Tygris, this way please.”

Supreme Grandmaster stood up, preparing to head with Laine to the Lake Fairy Tower to dine with Lilith. Mogiana would accompany them, following behind Laine, and the three of them walked towards the Lake Fairy Tower together.

At this moment, Ollica, dressed in a black and white maid outfit, appeared, ”Master? Ah!”

The Dark Elf saw Tygris, clothed in a blue and white robe and holding a Magic Staff.

Ollica’s expression changed repeatedly before she smiled bizarrely, ”I was wondering where that annoying scent of perfume was coming from; turns out a High Elf has come to the master’s castle, Tygris, you’ve actually come to the Old World.”

”Is it you?” Tygris regarded Ollica, dressed in a black and white lace maid short skirt and white suspender stockings, with a maid headpiece, casually speaking, ”Prince Yelian has always considered exchanging you for a great shame... didn’t expect you’d become a maid for humans?”

”What’s wrong? Is a High Elf coming to capture me?”
