Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2623: Chapter 2624: Return to Tianyun (190)

Even the usually expressionless Su Changyi managed to slightly curve the corners of his mouth.

Su Xing was both moved and laughing, ”I really felt awful at that time.”

An Jing sat on the stool beside the bed, gently stroking Su Xing’s head, and said with a smile, ”Let’s not talk about this anymore. Things are long past with Uncle Gong, no need to hold onto them.”

”Alright,” Su Xing responded.

After Su Yixing checked Su Xing’s pulse, he said, ”Having just lost the baby, your body is weak, but as long as you take good care of yourself, there won’t be any lasting effects. Xin’er, you need to rest in bed properly during this period and ensure a full recovery.”

Su Xing nodded with a smile, ”I know, second brother.” After a pause, ”Could you also check my husband?”

Su Yixing smiled and said, ”No need for you to ask, I would have checked him anyway.”

Ye Zhi and the others joked, ”You’re lying here and still so protective of your husband.”

Su Xing was not embarrassed at all.

Instead, Taoming Ye felt a bit embarrassed, his warm earlobes slightly reddening.

After Su Yixing finished checking Taoming Ye’s pulse, he said with a smile, ”Judging from Mingye’s pulse, the toxins in his body are reducing, and his pulse is much stronger than before. Previously, it was so weak that sometimes you couldn’t even feel it. As for the injury on his back, it still needs to be nurtured.”

Everyone felt relieved after hearing Su Yixing’s words.

...

Su Xing recuperated for half a month and was completely recovered, lively once again.

Meanwhile, Taoming Ye’s back injury was almost healed, but because he was still taking the medicine given by Su Yixing that whitened his complexion, he appeared quite unwell on the surface.

Currently, Taoming Ye couldn’t completely lie flat when sleeping, but he could now sleep on his side.

That night, Taoming Ye was sleeping on his side like this, and as soon as Su Xing got into bed, she snuggled obediently in his arms, being held by him.

The two shared a sweet kiss, and Su Xing then said, ”Husband, tomorrow I’m going to the Royal Palace to apologize to third brother. You shouldn’t go; although your health has recovered quite a bit, we need to keep this from Mrs. Cao. You used to be most unable to handle bumps, and going to the palace means taking a carriage. To prevent Mrs. Cao from thinking it’s odd that I’d take you there while you’re so seriously ill, you’d better stay home, and I’ll go alone.”

”You can go by yourself, that’s fine. But when will you be back?”

Su Xing immediately asked with a laugh, ”Afraid I won’t come home?”

Taoming Ye shook his head, ”I’m not afraid you won’t come back; you will return to me. It’s just that if you go, I won’t see you for many hours, and I’ll definitely miss you.”

Su Xing’s heart was filled with sweetness, and she lifted her head to give him a sweet kiss, then said with a playful smile, ”I’ll apologize to third brother and come back after lunch at the palace. I will also miss you and definitely won’t let myself stay at the palace for too long.”

”Hmm.”

...

The next day, as soon as Su Xing entered the palace, she first went to the hall to greet her parents, then she headed to her third brother An Yiqing’s courtyard to find him.

”Third brother! Third brother!” Su Xing joyfully shouted for An Yiqing before entering the courtyard.

An Yiqing and Gong Le were in the room checking various gambling house ledgers. Hearing the voice of his little sister Su Xing, An Yiqing was pleased and half stood up, but then he sat back down.

”You go,” he said, pushing his wife Gong Le, ”Let me keep my dignity. If I don’t let her apologize, I won’t feel comfortable.”

Gong Le found it amusing, playfully slapped the ledger in her hand onto him for him to look at as she got up, ”Keep your dignity if you must. It’s been ages now, but you’re the only one still holding onto it.”
