Chapter 2622: Chapter 2623: Return to Tianyun (189)

Su Xing laughed, ”Even if your body hasn’t fully recovered, you still protected me. Look at the wounds on your back, they haven’t healed yet, and you almost died. I can never forget this.”

Seeing Su Xing smile, Taoming Ye felt a bit relieved. With wounds on his back, he couldn’t lie down comfortably, so he took off his outerwear and lay beside her.

After tucking the blanket carefully around the two of them, he said, ”Your parents were very worried when they left, fearing you would be upset when you woke up. I was worried too, but now that I see your reaction isn’t as intense as I imagined, I’m even more worried, because I know, even if you’re smiling, you’re still hurting inside.”

Su Xing gave a bitter smile, ”How can I not be upset? The child is gone. My child is gone. I’ve always hoped for a child, but now it’s gone. If I keep dwelling on this, it will only make everyone worry about me. I’d rather come out of this sadness quickly so everyone, including myself and you, can feel better.”

Taoming Ye nodded, agreeing softly, ”That’s the right way to think.” After a pause, he continued, ”My grief is no less than yours. Not only have I lost the child, but my beloved wife has also been injured, and it will take a long time for you to recover.”

”I know. I know it all.” Su Xing’s eyes reddened again, but she didn’t cry this time; she just nodded. ”Even if you don’t say it, I know.” After a pause, ”Husband, even without a child, the two of us can still live happily.”

”Mm.” Taoming Ye smiled and nodded.

...

The next day, An Jing, Su Changyi, Su Yi Jing, Su Yixing, An Yiyun, An Yiqi, An Yilin, An Yizhi, Gong Juechen, and Ye Zhi all came to see Su Xing.

Noticing that her brother An Yiqing wasn’t there, Su Xing, lying pale-faced in bed, choked up, ”Third Brother, he...”

An Jing quickly said, ”Your third brother, although he didn’t come, prepared lots of nourishing things for us to bring to you.”

Su Xing’s eyes reddened, feeling very guilty, ”It’s all my fault, it’s me...”

Ye Zhi, smiling, said, ”He just can’t bring himself to see you for now, but he still cares about you. When you see him, just give him a way out, and he’ll be fine.”

Gong Juechen grinned cheekily, ”When we came, he really wanted to come along, but his face wasn’t as thick as mine. He insisted that we bring the stuff to you so you can recover well.”

Su Xing immediately attempted to get up, ”Uncle Gong, I’m sorry. I was so immature before and never considered your feelings, especially when my husband was in a coma, and I treated you like that.”

Ye Zhi quickly pressed her back down, preventing her from getting up, ”Why apologize to him? Everybody goes through sadness and gets angry sometimes. When he loses his temper, he can be a thousand times worse than you. You don’t have to do this. Just get better. As long as you don’t take it to heart, even if he’s petty, he’ll only hold onto it for a little while.”

Gong Juechen was both laughing and crying, ”Why does everyone say I’m petty? How am I petty? I didn’t even mind this, okay! But Xin’er, you just take advantage of everyone’s love for you. But also, you only show your true feelings to those closest to you. Anyone else, you wouldn’t treat them like this. It’s the same for everyone. Ahem, saying this gave me goosebumps. I’ve never seriously comforted anyone like this before.”

Everyone laughed at what he said.
