Chapter 2610: Chapter 2611: Return to Tianyun (177)

An Jing could only nod with a choked sob. There was really nothing else to be done.

...

Su Changyi, An Jing, and Su Yixing arrived at the Tao Mansion, and upon seeing them, Su Xing was quite surprised: ”Father, Mother, Second Brother, why are you all here?”

An Jing forced a smile: ”We heard from Doctor Jiang that you are pregnant, so we came to see you.”

Su Xing immediately said happily: ”Yes, I’m pregnant. I was worried that I couldn’t conceive, but now I have. Both my husband and I are very happy.”

Su Yixing also forced a smile: ”Why did you call Doctor Jiang instead of your Second Brother to check on you?”

Su Xing laughed: ”At that time, my husband was a bit anxious. He saw me retching, so he sent someone to the palace to fetch the Imperial Physician without thinking too much. Later, when he remembered, he wanted to send someone to call you, Second Brother, but since you were so busy, and I was just suddenly retching, I thought there wasn’t any illness requiring you, the divine doctor, to see, so I didn’t let him call you.”

”How could I be considered a divine doctor...” Su Yixing seldom chuckled bitterly. If he were a divine doctor, how could he not save the child in her womb?

Su Xing finally noticed something was amiss: ”Father, Mother, Second Brother, why do you all seem not very happy? Isn’t my pregnancy a joyous event? Aren’t you happy for me?”

Taoming Ye also found it quite strange.

An Jing couldn’t help but have her eyes turn red again.

Su Changyi’s face was expressionless. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

Still, Su Yixing, seeing everyone in the courtyard finding it hard to speak, said, ”Let’s discuss this inside. There’s something to tell you.”

As everyone went inside, Hong Ye closed the door from the outside, and Su Xing asked, ”What’s going on with you all? If there’s anything, just say it. You’re making me feel a bit uneasy.”

Taoming Ye, sitting next to Su Xing, also said gently, ”Father-in-law, Mother-in-law, Second Brother, if there’s anything, please just tell us.”

An Jing was too distressed to speak.

Su Changyi was also distressed, but he glanced at Su Yixing, signaling him to talk about the matter.

Only then did Su Yixing, with a heavy expression, sigh and say, ”Of course, we are happy you’ve conceived, but if this child can’t be kept, we can’t be happy.”

Upon hearing this, Su Xing immediately protected her still flat belly, exclaiming, ”Why can’t I keep it? Why can’t I keep this child I’ve conceived legitimately with my husband!?”

Although Taoming Ye wasn’t as agitated as Su Xing, he couldn’t be happy anymore and felt very distressed. Since Su Yixing said the child couldn’t be kept, then it really couldn’t be.

Seeing Su Xing so agitated after hearing just one sentence, An Jing found it unbearable and turned her head, leaning toward her husband Su Changyi, wiping her tears with her back turned to Su Xing.

Su Changyi was filled with both heartache and distress. Not knowing how to comfort his wife, he could only tightly press his lips together.

Su Yixing, feeling somewhat powerless, said, ”Xin’er, don’t be so agitated. Calm down first and let Second Brother finish his words, okay?”

Su Xing immediately replied, ”I can listen to you finish your words, but you mustn’t say my child can’t be kept! Finally yearning for this child, how could you say such a thing, Second Brother? It makes me angry!”

Su Yixing felt even more helpless: ”I don’t want to say this either, but the poison in Mingye’s body will more or less transfer to this child. This child truly can’t be kept.”

Even though he had an idea about it, knowing the child shouldn’t be kept, upon hearing it related to him, Taoming Ye felt like he was struck by lightning, unable to react for quite a long time.

How, was it him... was it him causing the child not to be kept?
