Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2616: Chapter 2617: Return to Tianyun (183)

Taoming Ye noticed that she ate a little, so he stopped urging her. He himself forced himself to eat a bit, but no matter how delicious the food was, it tasted like wax in his mouth at that moment.

After dinner, Su Xing remained silent, quietly helping Taoming Ye take a bath without saying a word, then applying medicine on his back before she bathed herself.

After bathing, she continued her silence, crawled into bed, lay on the innermost side, and curled up.

Taoming Ye lay on the outer side of the bed, seeing Su Xing pitifully curl herself into a ball with her back facing him. His heart ached sharply. Without hesitation, he pressed his lips together, moved to lie down next to Su Xing, turned sideways, and embraced her in his arms.

He initially embraced her from behind, but once Su Xing was held by him, she turned in his arms, buried her face into his chest, and couldn’t help but cry, while sobbing, ”Husband, I really don’t want to abort the baby, I managed to conceive after such a hard time...”

”Yes, we won’t. We won’t.” Taoming Ye gently responded while softly kissing the top of her head, hoping she’d feel better.

He didn’t quite care about himself, it was her... Her sadness made him feel even worse.

”How could this happen...” Su Xing sobbed in his arms, still unwilling to believe.

Taoming Ye closed his eyes, his heart wrenching, ”It’s all my fault.”

Su Xing immediately shook her head vigorously in his arms, then lifted her head, her eyes full of tears, ”Husband, don’t say that. Hearing this makes me feel even worse.”

”Then blame Mrs. Cao.” Taoming Ye immediately said.

Su Xing quickly nodded, ”Yes! It’s all her fault! She not only harmed you, but also harmed our child. I won’t let her off!”

”Yes.” Taoming Ye kissed her tear-stained eyes, his tenderness making Su Xing want to cry again.

She choked and asked, ”Husband, why don’t you try to persuade me anymore?”

”I know you don’t want me to persuade you.”

She remained silent for a long time before reaching to touch his chest, ”Are you also feeling awful?”

”Yes.”

She stayed quiet for a long time again, then softly said, ”Can this child really not survive? It’s clearly in my belly, how can it not survive?”

Taoming Ye hugged her tightly, ”That’s what Second Brother said. It probably can’t survive. He wouldn’t joke with us about this.”

”I truly fought hard to conceive...” she repeated, choking with sobs. Ever since marrying him and falling in love with him, she’s always dreamed of having a child with him.

Now she has one, how could it...

”I understand.” He held her tighter, his voice also choking, his heart suffering beyond words.

”I really want to have a child.”

Taoming Ye remained silent.

”Will there really be one in the future?” Su Xing asked again.

Taoming Ye didn’t want to lie to her, so he confessed, ”I don’t know.” The matter of children is something that can’t be forced. Like now, they’ve conceived a child, but can’t bring it to life.

Su Xing burst into tears again, crying, ”Can’t you just lie to me, or be certain and say there will be one?”

”I don’t want to lie to you. I don’t want to make you suffer. If you really don’t want to abort this child, I’ll do as you say.” After a pause, ”But if something does happen to you in the future, you have to listen to me and let me accompany you through it.”

His health has always been poor. Aside from collecting evidence to get revenge on Mrs. Cao, life hasn’t had much meaning for him. Having her now, cherishing him so dearly — if she were gone, he genuinely wouldn’t want to live.
