Chapter 2300: Chapter 2301: Pursuing An Baobei (Part 1)

An Jing couldn’t go even if she was anxious, as she had to take care of two little babies, Su Mo and Su Xing.

Ning Wenxian wanted to go, too, and even followed out the door, but Su Chengyu asked her to stay home to help An Jing, her sister-in-law, with the kids.

...

Su Changyi initially believed Su Haoyu’s words that it was a severe cold. But upon check-up at the hospital, it was far from a severe cold; it was acute leukemia.

The three of them, Su Changyi, Su Chengyu, and An Baobei, were thunderstruck, their faces turned pale, and for a moment, they didn’t know how to react.

The attending physician, Dr. Qian, continued, ”Considering the patient’s condition, the best course is a bone marrow transplant. You are all his relatives, so you should first test for a match. If suitable, early transplantation is better than anything else.”

Su Chengyu and Su Chengyu hurriedly followed the nurse to get tested to see if their bone marrow could be transplanted to their father, Su Haoyu.

An Baobei didn’t go immediately. Instead, crying, she called An Jing, and as soon as the call connected, she wept, ”Mom, Grandpa has acute leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. Dad and Uncle have gone for testing, I’m afraid it’s not enough, you should come too.”

An Jing was completely stunned, never expecting such terrible news. For a moment, she was dazed, then quickly said, ”I’ll go right now!”

Once An Baobei hung up with An Jing, she hurried after her dad and uncle to get tested.

As soon as An Jing hung up, she left the kids entirely to Ning Wenxian, but Ning Wenxian had already heard An Baobei say that Su Haoyu had acute leukemia and wanted to get tested as well, so she handed the two little ones to the housekeeper and the maids.

However, An Jing wouldn’t let Ning Wenxian go, ”You better not go. You’re pregnant now.”

Ning Wenxian insisted, ”Even if it means losing this child, I have to go. Dad is in this condition. Let’s go, sister-in-law, don’t delay Dad’s treatment.”

Time was very pressing, and An Jing stopped arguing with Ning Wenxian and went to the hospital with her.

When An Jing and Ning Wenxian arrived at the hospital, they also got tested, but their bone marrow was not suitable for donation to Su Haoyu.

An Baobei’s wasn’t suitable either.

Su Chengyu and Su Changyi, his two sons, were originally very likely to be suitable, but in the end, they were not a match either.

Su Mo, his grandson, and Su Xing, his granddaughter, were still just babies, too young to test.

Dr. Qian, seeing the situation, said, ”Then we can only wait. If another hospital has bone marrow suitable for the patient, we will notify you immediately.”

Su Chengyu and Su Changyi had not eaten anything for three days because of their father’s condition, sitting helplessly in the corridor outside Su Haoyu’s hospital room.

An Jing couldn’t stay at the hospital all day as she had to care for two babies, but she would find time to come by once a day.

An Baobei felt so distressed that her eyes were red every day, with no appetite at all, not wanting to eat anything.

Ning Wenxian wasn’t feeling well either.

Su Changyi sat for a long time on the bench at the door of the ward, not caring if Su Haoyu inside was awake. Suddenly he stood up and entered Su Haoyu’s hospital room.

Su Haoyu was asleep and hadn’t woken up; because of the fever and dizziness, he felt too uncomfortable. These three days, he spent more time sleeping than awake.

Su Changyi walked to the bedside and sat down on the chair next to the bed, cold eyes calmly watching Su Haoyu, who looked much older and more haggard these days. Gradually, his cold eyes were tinged with worry, sadness, and the long-buried grief in his heart.
