Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2269: Chapter 2270: She Really Didn’t

”Chengyu, you’re finally willing to talk to me.” Ning Wenxian was delighted, her eyes bright and cheerful. Previously, even when she took the initiative to speak, he would ignore her and walk straight past.

Su Chengyu: ”...” Is your focus wrong?

Su Chengyu simply paused for a moment and then asked again: ”Did you plant someone around me?”

When asking this question, his mind was racing; the only people who knew his daily whereabouts were the trusted few he’d known for a long time. It shouldn’t be someone she’s planted.

But if she hadn’t planted anyone, then how did she know his whereabouts so well? Almost every time he stepped out of his house, he would run into her.

Ning Wenxian answered with an innocent look, ”No, I didn’t.” She truly did not.

The ones telling her his whereabouts were her brother, sister-in-law, and niece, definitely not people she’d planted.

Su Chengyu couldn’t fathom that An Jing, Su Changyi, and An Baobei were helping Ning Wenxian. Seeing her innocent face claiming she hadn’t done anything, he didn’t know whether to believe her or not. He just irritably asked, ”What do you really want?”

Without waiting for her response, he continued irritably, ”Even if it’s a chance encounter, could you not come up and talk to me? Every time you run into me, you come and talk to me, but I keep ignoring you. Don’t you feel shameless?”

Ning Wenxian blushed and quietly answered Su Chengyu’s first question, ”I want to be with you.”

She didn’t answer the second question.

However, it was the first time Su Chengyu saw Ning Wenxian blush. He sincerely thought she looked vibrant and alluring, making his heart beat faster.

Realizing his heart was racing more, Su Chengyu was alarmed and irritably said, ”Didn’t I clarify this with you long ago? Why are you seeking me again after a few months? Don’t be offended by my harsh words, but you really seem to be pestering me right now.”

Ning Wenxian immediately blushed and said, ”I’m not pestering you; I’m pursuing you.”

”...” Su Chengyu often pursued others and had never been pursued himself, rendering him speechless. This feeling was quite peculiar.

It felt wrong somehow.

”Chengyu...” Waiting for a while without Su Chengyu saying anything, Ning Wenxian could only shamelessly and shyly call out his name again.

Su Chengyu watched as Ning Wenxian’s face and ears turned crimson as if bleeding, finding her both attractive and disconcerting: ”You... seem different.”

Ning Wenxian’s heart skipped a beat, fearing Su Chengyu would notice something. She tried to remain calm and smiled deceitfully, ”I didn’t like you before, but now I’ve realized I do, so naturally, I’m different.”

Su Chengyu thought Ning Wenxian’s blushing and shy demeanor seemed like she liked him, so he believed her, but questioned, ”After more than five months, you’ve only just discovered you like me?”

Ning Wenxian blushed and continued to lie quietly, ”My brother agreed to us, but you decided not to pursue a relationship. That’s when I realized I liked you. I was really sad, but I didn’t have the courage to win you back. Over these months, I felt terrible. Thinking back, the two-plus months you pursued me were the happiest days of my life. Now I’ve mustered the courage. Whether you say I’m pestering you or call me shameless, I want to be with you.”
