Chapter 2285: Chapter 2286: Reunion with Ning Zihan (6)

An Jing, An Baobei, Su Changyi, Su Haoyu, and Su Chengyu never expected that Ning Zihan had witnessed his mom on his dad’s bed with another man when he was a child. It’s no wonder Ning Zihan was so traumatized that he began to hate women. Everyone truly understood now.

Since they understood, they didn’t hate Ning Zihan as much anymore, though there was still a bit of an emotional knot in their hearts.

This knot was because An Baobei was genuinely hurt by Ning Zihan, and An Jing did have a premature birth. The two little babies, Su Mo and Su Xing, had really spent five months in the incubator and were still very tiny.

Ning Wuze continued, ”If Wen Xian weren’t marrying into your family, whether you hated my son or not wouldn’t be a concern for me. But since Wen Xian is marrying into your family, and Zihan, her older brother, has always been very good to her, I don’t want you to hate Zihan like that. I don’t want Wen Xian caught in the middle feeling awful.”

Su Haoyu sighed, ”We understand what you mean. Since you say you’re not confused, you must have noticed that we didn’t give your son any cold looks earlier, and that’s for Wen Xian’s sake.”

Ning Wuze nodded, wanting to say something, but then he heard footsteps. It was likely Ning Zihan returning from the restroom, so Ning Wuze didn’t pursue the topic further. Instead, he changed the subject and passionately continued discussing the wedding arrangements with Su Haoyu and the others.

Understanding that Ning Wenze didn’t want Ning Zihan to know about what he’d just said regarding those past events, An Jing and the others caught on and smoothly transitioned back to discussing the wedding plans.

Ning Zihan opened the door and entered the private room. Although the discussion seemed lively and pleasant, he sensitively sensed that something was off about the atmosphere. However, he couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was, so he chose not to ponder on it. He took his seat without saying a word and picked up his chopsticks to continue eating.

Occasionally, Ning Wuze and Ning Wenxian would ask for his opinions on the wedding arrangements, to which he’d just give a cursory response.

The meal ended with Ning Wenxian and Su Chengyu’s wedding being set for a month later.

The primary reason was that Ning Wenxian was pregnant, and she didn’t want to be visibly pregnant on her wedding day as she felt it wouldn’t look good in a wedding dress. Therefore, it was scheduled for a month later. Although a bit rushed, it was still possible to organize a wedding in that timeframe.

...

On the day of Ning Wenxian and Su Chengyu’s wedding, Ning Zihan naturally had to attend.

It was his sister’s wedding, and since she was pregnant, Ning Zihan naturally had to protect her from drinking too much.

After helping shield his sister from a lot of alcohol, Ning Zihan got drunk himself.

Without asking for help, Ning Zihan, swaying and barely conscious, made his way back to the room his sister and brother-in-law had prepared for him in the hotel.

His vision was blurred, and his mind was quite foggy. When he finally reached his room’s door, he tried to take out his room card from his pocket, but pulled out his wallet instead, and then mistakenly used a bank card as a room card, fumbling for a long time without being able to open the door.

An Baobei passed by and saw Ning Zihan leaning against the door and persistently trying to open it with a bank card. She realized he was drunk but didn’t interfere and continued on to her parents’ room.

The hotel had been entirely booked by her second uncle, and she wasn’t staying in the same suite as her parents.

She had heard her dad had gotten drunk, and worried that her mom wouldn’t be able to take care of the two babies alone at night, she wanted to help out.

Upon entering her parents’ suite, she saw that her dad was not drunk at all but was sitting on the sofa with her mom feeding her brother and sister. She laughed, ”Dad, weren’t you supposed to be drunk? How come you seem perfectly fine?”
