Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2273: Chapter 2274: I Knew Even If You Didn’t Say It

The blond man trembled in fear and said, ”Second Young Master, please, don’t be mad at me this time. I really didn’t do much; she hurt me and spilled a whole glass of wine on my face, uh—”

Before the blond man could finish speaking, he grimaced in pain.

It was Su Chengyu, who had grabbed some salt meant for mixing cocktails and then held the injured hand of the blond man.

Salt meeting a wound, it’s no wonder the blond man was in such agony.

Su Chengyu tightly held the blond man’s hand and smiled gently like a spring breeze, ”Let’s forget it this time, but open your eyes wide in the future. Not every woman is someone you can covet, or you might lose your life without even knowing why.”

The blond man’s body trembled with pain, but he didn’t dare pull his hand away. This Su Ershao was already a big shot in S city, using his brother Su Changyi’s influence, someone he couldn’t afford to provoke.

Those watching even felt their own hands tingling. Don’t be fooled by how amiable Su Ershao usually seems, but when he deals with people, he’s incredibly skilled, making everyone watching feel the pain too.

Su Chengyu squeezed the blond man’s hand again before letting go. A waiter had already brought clean water, and Su Chengyu quickly washed his hands in the basin, getting rid of the salt and the blond man’s blood, before pulling Ning Wenxian upstairs.

Ning Wenxian resisted being touched by other men, but not by Su Chengyu. On the contrary, she was quite happy at the moment. Her Emperor not only pulled her, but also stood up for her earlier.

As soon as Su Chengyu brought Ning Wenxian into his office, he found a first aid kit to treat Ning Wenxian’s hand injury. But just as he found the kit and looked up, Ning Wenxian was smiling happily and blissfully, which made him ask with a mix of irritation and amusement, ”What are you smiling at?”

Ning Wenxian just shook her head at him with a smile.

”Even if you don’t say it, I know,” Su Chengyu said, holding the first aid kit with one hand and pulling Ning Wenxian to sit on the sofa with the other. ”You’re laughing at me for clearly ignoring you and yet standing up for you, right?”

Ning Wenxian shook her head more vigorously, ”No, I’m not laughing at you, I’m happy.”

Su Chengyu paused momentarily before continuing to take items from the first aid kit to treat Ning Wenxian’s wounds.

Because Ning Wenxian had tightly gripped a glass shard earlier, causing deep wounds, as Su Chengyu cleaned the injuries, Ning Wenxian winced in pain, drawing sharp breaths, which made Su Chengyu feel a tug at his heart, very distressed.

Finally, the wounds were treated, bandaged with gauze; Su Chengyu closed the first aid kit with a heavy sigh and resigned himself to asking Ning Wenxian, ”If I don’t get with you, will you keep appearing in front of me like this?”

Ning Wenxian gently tugged at Su Chengyu’s clothes with her good hand and whispered softly, ”Chengyu, be with me.” Pausing, she added, ”I can tell, you care about me.”

Similarly, when she thought about how he stood up for her against the blond man earlier, she couldn’t keep from smiling.

Seeing her whisper and that smile, Su Chengyu found it amusing, ”You’re that certain?”

”Mhm mhm.” Ning Wenxian nodded earnestly, her cheeks and ears turning red.

Su Chengyu took a long look at Ning Wenxian from head to toe before saying, ”Don’t tell me, ever since you realized you like me, you’ve become conservative.”

Never mind her overreaction earlier, just since she reappeared to pursue him, he hadn’t seen her wear anything revealing arms or legs, only particularly conservative clothing.

Just like his niece and sister-in-law.
