Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2293: Chapter 2294: A Huge Misunderstanding (Part 4)

”And as for me, just when I was feeling unwell, I left work early to go home, and what a coincidence, the housekeeper handed me the package, saying it was mine, and she saw it, and I saw her too.”

Immediately, Li Junlin grumbled: ”If I had known I would run into her at the door, I would have stayed at the office a little longer.”

”She’s troubling you,” Ning Zihan said first, before asking with concern: ”How are you feeling?”

”Same old, no big deal. Alright, she’s still waiting for me downstairs, so I won’t talk to you now, I’ll catch up with you later.”

”Okay.” The next second, Ning Zihan reminded him again, still worried: ”Don’t be too friendly!”

Li Junlin already had someone in his heart, and he didn’t want An Baobei to fall for Li Junlin because of his attitude; that would be bad.

”Got it!” Li Junlin emphasized in his tone. ”Besides with our Wutong, when have you ever seen me being enthusiastic with any other woman?”

Ning Zihan was finally at ease.

As soon as Li Junlin hung up Ning Zihan’s call, he changed out of his suit into some casual home clothes, then went downstairs.

Once downstairs, he sat in a single sofa and said to An Baobei indifferently: ”Since you’re here, let’s have a meal together. After we eat, I’ll arrange for you to be taken to the airport.”

An Baobei smiled and said: ”No need, I’ll head back directly. You don’t have to take me; I know the way.”

”I didn’t say I’d take you myself. I’ll have my driver take you,” Li Junlin replied in the same indifferent tone.

An Baobei thought she shouldn’t have been curious. If she hadn’t been curious, hadn’t come, she wouldn’t be so disappointed.

Apart from disappointment, she also felt quite embarrassed. Li Junlin clearly didn’t welcome her.

But she could understand.

Clearly, he didn’t want to meet her in reality, he had already expressed that online, and her coming to see him was just asking for trouble, she couldn’t blame anyone else.

”You...” An Baobei hesitated for a moment before finishing her sentence, ”feel a bit different from how you are online.”

Li Junlin chuckled lightly: ”The internet is virtual; people can pretend. It’s normal to be different.”

An Baobei nodded in agreement. Then, she stood up and smiled: ”I just came to see what you look like. Now that I’ve seen, I’ll go back. You look really unwell, you should see a doctor.”

With that, An Baobei walked out.

Li Junlin didn’t try to stop her, but he did have the housekeeper arrange for the driver to take An Baobei.

An Baobei saw that Li Junlin was insistent on having the driver take her, so she didn’t refuse any further. But she fully believed what ’One Person’ said online: liking someone doesn’t mean wanting to be with them.

Of course, she couldn’t even tell if Li Junlin wanted to be with her, she couldn’t even tell if he liked her at all.

Perhaps this is what they call hiding one’s true feelings.

On the way to the airport with Li Junlin’s driver, An Baobei hesitated for a moment, then sent ’One Person’ a message on Weibo: ”Sorry, I just wanted to see what you looked like, nothing else, if I disturbed you, I apologize.”

After thinking for a bit, she sent another message: ”I realize you really don’t want to meet me in real life, so let’s just chat online from now on. If you’re unwilling to chat with me even online after today, that’s fine too. Today, I was too rude, showing up unexpectedly.”

She never forced anyone to interact with her.
