Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2282: Chapter 2283: Reunion with Ning Zihan (Part 3)

”...Brother, can you not be so sharp?” Ning Wenxian was somewhat scared. ”But none of this matters, the important thing is that Chengyu and I truly love each other.”

Ning Zihan said coldly, ”I just don’t want my sister to become a breeding machine for another family.”

”Brother, why do you think like this? I really like kids. I’ve always planned to have many, many children if I were to marry someone. Now I just happen to use childbirth to gain acceptance from their family, which I think is perfect. There’s nothing wrong.”

Ning Zihan’s voice remained cold, ”Aren’t you afraid that because of me, they’ll treat you poorly?”

”They’re not like that. Since they’ve accepted me, they’ll treat me like family.”

”Since you’re so optimistic, suit yourself. Anyway, it’s your marriage, you should be the one in charge.” He paused, ”At worst, you can just get divorced. Our family can support you, don’t be afraid of getting divorced.”

Ning Wenxian was both moved and helpless, ”Brother, can’t you hope for me to be well? I’m not even married yet and you’re already talking about divorce.”

Ning Zihan only snorted and said nothing. He’s always held a pessimistic view on marriage.

Ning Wenxian actually knew he’s very pessimistic about marriage and didn’t say anything more to him, but instead smiled, ”Brother, dad has already agreed, and you have no issue, so I’ll discuss it with Chengyu, and let both families meet.”

Ning Zihan said, ”Let dad meet them, I won’t.”

Ning Wenxian was immediately dissatisfied, ”You’re my brother. I only have you and dad as close relatives. You’re more important than dad in my heart. I’m about to get married, how can you not meet my in-laws?”

”I’m doing this for your sake, to prevent your in-laws from feeling uncomfortable when they see me. Don’t forget how Lin Anjing had a premature birth; everyone in their family blamed it all on me.”

”Brother,” Ning Wenxian said helplessly, ”not everyone in their family blamed the whole matter on you. Trust me...”

”Regardless of whether they did or not, I know I should take some responsibility. You don’t need to comfort me, I see things more clearly than you.”

”Brother...” Ning Wenxian was even more helpless, ”Are you planning to never meet my in-laws in the future?”

”Yes.” He replied particularly decisively and bluntly.

”Brother, why are you being so absolute? My in-laws are willing to meet you, can’t you also meet them? You’re putting me in a very awkward position... At worst, can’t you just meet them without talking?”

Ning Zihan said nothing.

Ning Wenxian was left with no choice but to plead, ”Brother, I’m begging you, I really want you to attend this major event in my life.”

Honestly, she felt quite sympathetic towards her brother who disliked women. If he couldn’t attend even his sister’s wedding, she would feel even sorrier for him.

This is also why she really wanted him to attend.

Of course, she also wanted to use her marriage into the Su Family as a way to ease the relationship between her brother and the Su Family people.

Ning Zihan originally wanted to persist with his decision, but he noticed that his sister’s voice seemed a bit choked up, knowing that his sister truly wanted him to attend. Hence, he didn’t insist as much.

He said casually, ”If you want me to attend as your family every time, I can, but let me be clear, if they don’t acknowledge me, I won’t acknowledge them. If the situation ends up being too awkward, don’t blame me.”
