Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2299: Chapter 2300: Major Misunderstanding (10)

Everyone else was also quite nervous.

Su Haoyu, however, waved nonchalantly, telling everyone not to make a fuss, and laughed: ”I’ve been eating too much spicy food lately, got overheated, and had a nosebleed. It’s nothing; it’ll be fine in a bit.”

Upon hearing that Su Haoyu just got overheated and nothing more serious was amiss, everyone relaxed.

Su Chengyu, despite feeling relieved, complained jokingly: ”And yet you still go on about wanting hotpot every day. Look at what it’s done to you!”

Su Changyi made a straightforward decision and instructed the housekeeper standing by: ”Until the master recovers from the heat, don’t allow him to have any more spicy foods.”

The housekeeper immediately accepted the order: ”Yes, Young Master!”

Su Haoyu wailed: ”I only enjoy this one thing, and now you’re depriving me. Yi Er, you’re so heartless!”

Su Chengyu laughed triumphantly: ”Your wails are useless. Once your brother decides something, he doesn’t change his mind. Besides, he’s considering your health. You eat spicy hotpot every day, you’ll end up burning us all along with you, especially Wen Xian—she’s pregnant and can’t eat like that.”

Su Haoyu thought he should try to argue: ”You can eat what you want, I’ll eat mine. I’m not insisting you all join me for hotpot. If I stop eating spicy food, I lose the flavor!”

”Even if it tastes bland, you can’t eat like that anymore. Look, you’re having nosebleeds.” Saying this, Su Chengyu also instructed the housekeeper, ”Prepare a cooling soup for the master later.”

”Yes, Second Young Master.” The housekeeper quickly agreed.

Su Haoyu had no choice but to comply.

Seeing Su Haoyu was not very pleased, An Jing, An Baobei, and Ning Wenxian started to cheer him up. The old man’s moods change quickly, and he soon became cheerful again.

In the following days, Su Haoyu had a few more nosebleeds, but since it happened when he was alone and he thought it was just the heat, he didn’t pay much attention, so Su Changyi and the others remained unaware.

Later on, Su Haoyu also developed a fever and felt dizzy.

Considering he hadn’t slept with a blanket the night before, Su Haoyu thought he had caught a cold, but his body felt particularly weak. Struggling to get up, he lay back in bed due to dizziness once he managed to stand.

After finishing breakfast, Su Changyi noticed that Su Haoyu hadn’t come downstairs, so he went upstairs to knock on Su Haoyu’s bedroom door.

”Dad?”

Groggily hearing Su Changyi’s voice, Su Haoyu instinctively called out: ”Yi Er, I think I have a serious cold. Please call Dr. Xu for me.”

Dr. Xu is the Su Family’s physician, who is available whenever needed.

Hearing that Su Haoyu said he had a serious cold, Su Changyi immediately pushed open the door and entered his room, walked quickly to the bedside, saw the unhealthy red flush on Su Haoyu’s face, and placed his hand on Su Haoyu’s forehead. Feeling the intense heat, Su Changyi was startled.

”Don’t wait for Dr. Xu; I’m taking you to the hospital now!”

By the time Dr. Xu could arrive, he would have already taken him to the hospital.

That was Su Changyi’s plan, and Su Haoyu didn’t have time to protest before Su Changyi hoisted him onto his back and hurried downstairs.

An Jing and the others were in the living room; seeing Su Changyi carrying Su Haoyu downstairs, they stood up in a panic.

”What’s wrong with Dad?”

”What’s wrong with Grandpa?”

Su Changyi, while quickly descending the stairs, spoke calmly: ”He’s got a high fever; I’m taking him to the hospital.”

”I’m going too!” Su Chengyu grabbed the car keys from the table and went with Su Changyi to take Su Haoyu to the hospital.

”Mom, I’m going to have a look too.” An Baobei was worried, handing the baby Su Mo to An Jing.
