Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1844: Chapter 1845: An Baobei’s Birth

”Alright, alright, I’ll listen to you, Mom. I’ll do whatever you say, okay?” An Yiqing readily agreed with his mouth, but in his heart, he had already decided that even if he went again, what could they do about it?

An Jing, understanding the nature of her third son, said, ”Don’t just readily agree; you have to follow through. You never followed through before, but this time, you must do it for me. A man of his word is a true man.”

”Yes, yes, a man of his word, a man of his word.” An Yiqing agreed pleasantly on the surface, but internally, he was saying: ”Do it for what? I just love eating, drinking, and having fun, and the brothel is a great place for that. To say I won’t ever go there again, impossible!”

An Jing still found it hard to believe An Yiqing’s words, but since her son was already grown, he could make his own decisions. She and her husband could only fulfill their parental duties by advising and educating him, hoping he would not go astray. Whether or not he followed their wishes in the end was up to him.

Thinking of this, An Jing had nothing more to say since she had already said all that needed to be.

Xiao Changyi also had nothing more to say.

With his parents not saying anything further, An Yiqing felt relieved and even cheerfully remarked, ”Mom, your belly is already so big; don’t worry about us sons’ affairs anymore. We’re all grown up. When the little sister is born, even if you and Dad let us take care of her, we’d be more than happy. You and Dad should just enjoy life.”

Once again with the little sister...

An Jing didn’t know how many times she was caught between laughing and crying. What her son said made it seem like if she gave birth to another boy, they wouldn’t take care of him. Did the difference have to be so stark?

...She might as well have a little sister then.

She also thought having a daughter would be nice. She had seven sons already, not a single daughter, and felt it a bit regrettable.

...

On the sixth day of February, Xiao Changyi’s birthday, An Jing, Xiao Changyi, Su Yi Jing, Su Yixing, An Yiqing, An Yiyun, An Yiqi, An Yilin, and An Yizhi got their wish. An Jing indeed gave birth to a daughter, and Su Yi Jing and the others indeed had a little sister.

Su Yi Jing and the others were incredibly happy, taking turns holding their sister. If Xiao Changyi hadn’t gotten angry as a father, they wouldn’t have been willing to put their sister down at all.

Having a daughter born on the same day as him, Xiao Changyi was quite pleased too.

When An Jing woke up, she saw her seven sons lined up taking turns holding her newborn daughter, finding it amusing.

”Your mom’s awake, let her see your sister,” Xiao Changyi told An Yiqing to hand over the little An Baobei baby to him so he could show An Jing.

An Yiqing had just received An Baobei from his second brother Su Yixing, and wasn’t willing to give her to Xiao Changyi, immediately protesting, ”Dad, let me hold her a bit longer, and then I’ll let Mom see.”

Upon hearing this, An Yiyun was displeased, ”Then that’ll take up my time to hold Baobei.”

An Jing just found it all so amusing.

She could see that her sons truly cherished their little sister. She even began to wonder if her daughter would be doted on so much by her brothers that she’d be spoiled to the skies.

Upon hearing An Yiyun’s words, An Yiqing immediately fired back at Su Yixing, ”It’s all Second Brother’s fault for holding her for so long before giving her to me!”

But Su Yixing wasn’t angry at all; in fact, he was especially happy, ”Who wouldn’t love our little Baobei? I just didn’t want to let go when holding her.”
