Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1807: Chapter 1808: Who Can Control Him?

Riding on the back of Moon Stepping, An Jing looked back at the courtyard once more before smiling at Xiao Changyi, ”Husband, shall we go home?”

This home, however, was not this place anymore; it was the Royal Palace in the Imperial City. Her three little beauties were still waiting for them there.

”Yes.” Xiao Changyi gently exchanged a glance with An Jing, then rode on Zhuri, heading in the direction of Sixteen Town.

Qin Yi and Meng Lanqing quickly rode their horses to catch up.

The four of them did not pass through Jiuping Village this time, as a road leading directly to the main road had been built back then, so they now took that road straight to the highway.

As the horses had been traveling for many days and were tired, the four of them stayed for two nights at an inn in Sixteen Town before continuing their journey back to the Imperial City.

Encountering rainy days again, it took An Jing and the others half a month to finally return to the Royal Palace.

It was February 14th when An Jing returned to the Royal Palace.

Back then, Xiao Changyi and Su Yi Jing had agreed that Su Yi Jing would follow him to learn military-related knowledge for two years and, in the meantime, also practice martial arts with him. The two-year period would end in two months.

On the day Xiao Changyi and An Jing returned to the Royal Palace from Jiuping Village, Su Yi Jing informed them that he would enter the military camp for training at the beginning of April.

Since it was an agreed arrangement, An Jing and Xiao Changyi did not wish to break their promise and agreed to Su Yi Jing’s entry into the military camp for training in April.

An Jing and Xiao Changyi had also decided that on the second day after Su Yi Jing entered the military camp for training, they would set off for their ’new home’ to live a secluded rural life.

The three little beauties were still so young and would definitely accompany An Jing and Xiao Changyi to their new secluded home. Su Yi Jing had to undergo military training, Su Yi Xing had already gone to Slayer Tower to study medicine with Gong Juechen, and An Yiyun was pursuing the path of the imperial examination... Only An Yiqing had not yet decided what to do, which made An Jing and Xiao Changyi very worried. They decided to take An Yiqing along into seclusion.

However, An Yiqing was unwilling.

With Father and Mother going into seclusion, the elder brother entering the military camp, and the second brother studying medicine, wouldn’t he, as the Third Prince, be the biggest in the Royal Palace? Who could manage him? Who could suppress him? Just thinking about such a life was quite splendid. Naturally, An Yiqing was not willing to follow An Jing and Xiao Changyi into seclusion and subject himself again to their parental control.

Of course, An Yiqing did not express his true thoughts, instead grinning and saying he wanted to stay in the Imperial City to protect An Yiyun.

Being familiar with this son, An Jing and Xiao Changyi understood why An Yiqing didn’t want to go into seclusion with them. But considering that An Yiqing had grown up, with his own path to pursue, An Jing and Xiao Changyi did not insist, allowing An Yiqing to remain in the Imperial City at that time.

As such a significant matter as retreating to a rural life, they certainly had to inform their relatives like Su Chengyu.

As soon as Su Chengyu heard they were returning to rural life, he was excited, ”Brother Yi, Sister-in-law, can’t you stay? Isn’t there nothing wrong with this Imperial City? If you really want to plant fields, why not just carve out a piece of land from the Royal Palace and plant there?”

An Jing smiled, ”It’s not the same.” After a pause, ”You know, both Brother Yi and I prefer that kind of life. Please support us. Now that Xiyun is enjoying a time of peace, there’s nothing much for us to worry about, and since you and Chengyuan are doing well, even if we go to live that kind of life, it won’t have much impact.”

Su Chengyu said sullenly, ”It’s just that I can’t bear to be without you two... If you leave, we won’t be able to see you often...”
