Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1827: Chapter 1828: Something Up?

An Jing also noticed that Qingqing couldn’t eat spicy food, so she smiled and said, ”Qingqing, if you want to eat something, just say it. If my husband can make it, I’ll have him cook it for you.”

Qingqing had a fine layer of sweat on her forehead from the spiciness, but she still replied politely, ”These dishes are fine, it’s just... just a bit spicy.”

”I also find it a bit spicy, but Jing’er wants me to give him a little sister, so he always puts so many chili peppers in the dishes. Now, the amount of chili is actually reduced. Before you came, you could almost only see chili peppers and not the food.” An Jing found it amusing as she said this.

Qingqing only knew of the saying ”sour son, spicy daughter” and didn’t ask why Su Yi Jing wanted An Jing to eat spicy food. However, she found it strange that rather than hoping for many children, Su Yi Jing wanted An Jing to have a little sister for him, rather than a little brother.

Although she found it strange, Qingqing considered it a family matter for Su Yi Jing, so she didn’t ask further.

”Just make do with it tonight. Tomorrow, I’ll order Jing’er to put even less chili in it.” An Jing said gently and amiably again.

This wasn’t her own home, so Qingqing felt that the hosts shouldn’t change anything just because she was staying there. Just as Qingqing was about to say not to worry about her taste, Su Yi Jing spoke up instead.

Su Yi Jing said to An Jing, ”Mom, starting tomorrow, I won’t interfere with Dad cooking anymore.”

An Jing immediately laughed happily, ”That’s great. I can finally eat normal food again.”

Qingqing sneaked a glance at Su Yi Jing, wanting to say something, but she didn’t know what to say.

After dinner, and taking a bath, An Jing went back to her room to lie down. Seeing An Jing lie down, Xiao Changyi then prepared to take a bath.

But as soon as he walked out of the room, he saw Su Yi Jing standing a little distance away waiting for him.

”What’s up?”

”Yes.” Su Yi Jing replied without hesitation. ”Dad, I want you to teach me how to make a bowl of egg noodles.”

He thought his son had something important...

Xiao Changyi was silent for a moment before saying, ”Is it to make it for her?”

Her, of course, referring to Qingqing.

Because the food was spicy in the evening, Qingqing didn’t eat much.

Su Yi Jing still didn’t feel embarrassed at all and admitted, ”Yes.”

Xiao Changyi didn’t say much more and started towards the kitchen.

Su Yi Jing quickly followed.

Su Yi Jing could start a fire, so Xiao Changyi had him put water in the pot and then had Su Yi Jing light the fire.

Once the water in the pot boiled, Xiao Changyi had Su Yi Jing put in the noodles. After the noodles boiled, Xiao Changyi then had Su Yi Jing crack two eggs into the pot.

Su Yi Jing followed all the instructions.

However, his movements were extremely inexperienced and clumsy.

Xiao Changyi stood by the stove with his arms crossed, directing Su Yi Jing to make the egg noodles. Seeing Su Yi Jing’s clumsy but exceptionally attentive actions, Xiao Changyi couldn’t help but recall the days he and his wife spent living in the thatched cottage.

Time really flies; his son now had someone he liked, ready for marriage and family.

Once Su Yi Jing finished making the egg noodles, Xiao Changyi left the kitchen to go take a bath.

As for Su Yi Jing, he carried the bowl of egg noodles with added sugar to the door of the guest room. Without any hesitation, he raised his hand and knocked on the door.

”Who is it?” Hearing the knock, Qingqing, who was about to turn out the light and sleep, asked.

”It’s me.”

Recognizing Su Yi Jing’s voice, Qingqing then opened the door, and as soon as she did, she saw Su Yi Jing holding a bowl of egg noodles.
