Chapter 1841: Chapter 1842: He Insists, and Can’t Be Persuaded

When Su Yixing suddenly spoke again, Huo Qingyi instantly became tense all over, and only after Su Yixing finished speaking did she obediently reply, ”Yes, Young Master, I will make sure to gain some weight.”

”Hmm.” Su Yixing was satisfied, and only then did he stop talking and slowly fell asleep.

Huo Qingyi kept her body stiff until she heard the even breathing of Su Yixing, realizing that he was truly asleep. Only then did her body slowly relax.

The person holding her was her master, and she belonged to him, so she didn’t have any resistance, just a real sense of discomfort.

She had never been held by anyone like this before.

However, seeing that her master, Su Yixing, was sleeping so soundly, even though she was not used to it, she gradually fell asleep.

Unbeknownst to her, Su Yixing had opened his eyes upon hearing the steady rhythm of her breathing as she slept...

...

Su Yixing avoided An Jing and Xiao Changyi for three days before daring to face them.

An Jing and Xiao Changyi were genuinely angry that Su Yixing taught the three young beauties in such a way, but since Su Yixing was their own son, despite the anger, An Jing and Xiao Changyi couldn’t really do anything to him.

Nevertheless, Su Yixing felt guilty, especially when facing his parents. Even though he understood that his parents wouldn’t really do anything to him, he was still afraid, afraid that they might actually discipline him.

Upon seeing Su Yixing, An Jing scolded, ”Alright, stop hiding. Let’s just forget about it this time. But in the future, let your elder brother guide Qi child, Lin child, and Zhi child, so you don’t mislead them.”

Su Yixing accompanied his grin with, ”If elder brother is to guide them, then so be it. I have no objections, as long as it makes you happy, Mother.”

An Jing gave Su Yixing a sidelong glance, and the matter was considered settled and moved on.

With the issue resolved, Su Yixing was no longer cautious and asked cheerfully, ”Mother, it’s already the 20th, why haven’t third brother and fourth brother arrived yet?”

”Your fourth brother is holding a minister post, so he’s busy. Your third brother is waiting to come with him, so they probably won’t arrive until the 28th or 29th.”

”Mother, I’m telling you, fourth brother’s health isn’t great. He really shouldn’t be taking on the minister role. I’m honestly worried about his health holding up.”

”You think I haven’t tried to persuade him? But he insists on going this route. Your father already wrote to your second uncle, asking him to assign fewer tasks to your fourth brother, so he won’t be so overworked. But your fourth brother doesn’t listen. If your second uncle doesn’t assign him tasks, he goes and finds work himself. Honestly, I’m most worried about him.”

”If he’s so determined, there’s nothing we can do. When he comes, I’ll take his pulse to see if I can prescribe some tonics to help him, hoping he won’t exhaust his already weak health.”

”You should definitely check on him when he arrives. Last year when he came home for the New Year, he had already lost a lot of weight. It’s been almost a year since we last saw him, so who knows if he’s gotten even thinner.”

”Alright, I’ll check on him when he arrives.”

An Jing estimated that An Yiqing and An Yiyun would arrive on the 28th or 29th, but in reality, they didn’t arrive until noon on New Year’s Eve.

Both the Meng Zhuqing and Meng Lanqing families celebrated New Year together, and everyone was busy and lively.

As soon as An Yiqing arrived, he noticed Huo Qingyi following Su Yixing and immediately approached with a playful smile, ”Qingyi, you’ve become even more beautiful, no wonder my second brother takes you everywhere~”
