Chapter 1820: Chapter 1821: I’m Just Pregnant, Is This Really Necessary?

Having learned from last year’s lesson, Huo Qingyi was wiser this year and had prepared a gift for Su Yixing well before his birthday.

Even though Huo Qingyi didn’t quite understand why Su Yixing would ask his subordinate for a birthday gift.

”Take it out and let me see.” Su Yixing was still smiling, seemingly pleased that Huo Qingyi had learned her lesson.

Huo Qingyi stood up and went to fetch the birthday gift she prepared for Su Yixing. Su Yixing didn’t even take it to look, he just glanced at it and upon seeing it was an Ink Jade Tea Set, his smile faded slightly. He said blandly, ”Put it in my room later.”

This was a sign of acceptance.

After pausing, Su Yixing continued, ”In the future, don’t wait for me to remind you to bring out my birthday gift.”

With that, Su Yixing turned around, no longer lounging by the pool, but turning his back to Huo Qingyi and no longer looking at her. The smile on his face completely disappeared when he turned his back.

Huo Qingyi didn’t find anything unusual, she just obediently replied, ”Yes, Young Master.”

...

On June 7th, An Jing and Xiao Changyi set off to return home.

Before An Jing and Xiao Changyi left, Su Yixing stuffed a lot of supplements suitable for a pregnant woman into the carriage.

Because An Jing was pregnant, Xiao Changyi drove the carriage at a slower pace than when they came, taking more than two months to reach home.

Tuobaya and the others were very happy to learn that An Jing was pregnant again.

Just two days after An Jing and Xiao Changyi returned home, Su Yi Jing arrived. An Jing was quite surprised by Su Yi Jing’s arrival.

”Jing’er, why are you here?” They had been living in seclusion for a few years, and her eldest son usually only visited once a year during the New Year. But now, it wasn’t near New Year yet.

Su Yi Jing said expressionlessly, ”Second brother said you were pregnant, so I came to see.”

Understanding that her eldest son was showing concern for her, An Jing smiled, ”So that’s it. How many days are you planning to stay?”

Su Yi Jing glanced at her still-flat belly before saying, ”Staying until you give birth to the child.”

An Jing: ”...”

Xiao Changyi: ”...”

”Hehe...” An Jing chuckled awkwardly, ”I’m just pregnant, you don’t need to do this.”

Su Yi Jing just stared at An Jing expressionlessly. After a while, he asked with a faint annoyance in his eyes, ”Does mother not want her son to stay here?”

”Of course not!” An Jing quickly denied. ”How could I not want you to stay? I just think, I’m only pregnant, there’s no need for you to delay your affairs. Don’t you have things to do in the military camp?”

Su Yi Jing said without any emotional fluctuation, ”I’m tired of staying in the military camp, it’s all the same there. I’ve already told Uncle, I’m not staying in the military camp anymore, I’m coming back to serve you and father.”

An Jing couldn’t help but laugh, ”Serve? Your father and I aren’t at that stage yet, are we?”

Su Yi Jing said, ”No matter how old you are, you are still my parents, serving you is rightful.”

An Jing didn’t know what to say.

Xiao Changyi didn’t say a word either. Because he realized that their eldest son was determined to stay here.

Seeing that neither An Jing nor Xiao Changyi spoke, Su Yi Jing didn’t feel awkward, and began unloading the luggage from the horse. Aside from a small bundle of his change of clothes, everything else was various supplements he brought for An Jing.

Seeing her child being so filial, An Jing felt both comforted and burdened, ”Star has already brought many supplements back for your father and me, there’s no way we could finish it all.”
