Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1808: Chapter 1809: Retirement from the World

Also without waiting for An Jing and Xiao Changyi to say anything, Su Chengyu continued, ”Enough, you have done so much for Xiyun, for us brothers and sisters, I should let you go live the life you want.”

An Jing just smiled.

Xiao Changyi rarely raised the corners of his lips.

...

On April 3rd, Su Yi Jing went into the military camp for training.

On April 4th, An Jing and Xiao Changyi set out with three little beauties to live secluded lives in the countryside.

Meng Zhuqing and Tobanya, along with their son Meng Yuanze, also went into seclusion.

Meng Lanqing and Gong Juese, along with their young son Meng Sifeng, went into seclusion as well. As for their elder son, who is considered the eldest grandson of the Meng family—Meng Sibo, he was left with Old Lady Meng.

Xiao Changyi didn’t take any of his death warriors; they all remained in the Royal Palace to protect An Yiyun and An Yiqing.

Including Prime Minister Li, some ministers knew Xiao Changyi wanted to retreat into seclusion, but none commented because An Jing and Xiao Changyi had declared, ”If one day Xiyun still needs us, even if we can no longer walk, we will return.”

Although Xiao Changyi went into seclusion, he was still revered and respected as the King of Xiyun.

Of course, Xiao Changyi’s retreat into seclusion was not widely spread; only a very small number of people knew.

Even fewer knew where Xiao Changyi retreated to.

...

An Jing and Xiao Changyi’s secluded location was within the borders of Beihe, which by now belonged to Xiyun, so one could say they were still within Xiyun’s territory. Their new home was nestled against a mountain and beside water, with no inhabitants for ten miles around, making it very peaceful and pleasant.

An Jing and the others traveled by boat and carriage for nearly two months before reaching this new home. Previously, this new home had been built according to blueprints drawn by An Jing and Xiao Changyi, with Meng Lanqing overseeing the construction.

Indeed, three households were constructed.

A certain distance was maintained between each household.

One household had several rooms and a courtyard built, in case any beasts came down from the mountains at night.

With many children at An Jing’s home, and considering that Jing Xingqingyun may visit them anytime, An Jing and Xiao Changyi naturally had several more rooms in their house, and the courtyard was much larger.

Looking at the beautiful scenery nestled against the mountain and water, smelling the fragrance of flowers, listening to bird calls, feeling the wind, and experiencing the genuine nature, An Jing felt as though she was in a paradise on earth and genuinely liked this place.

Initially, the three little beauties did not really like this place, thinking there was nothing fun to do and no one to play with, but later, when An Jing started raising chickens, ducks, and lambs, they began to like it.

They loved catching chickens, chasing ducks, and herding lambs the most.

Whenever they saw chickens and ducks flying everywhere and lambs running all around because of them, they were particularly happy.

As they grew older, An Jing and Xiao Changyi occasionally took them to play by the water, which made them like the place even more.

Since coming here, An Jing and Xiao Changyi didn’t plant any crops, just simply grew some vegetables and raised chickens and ducks. Thinking it was good for the children to drink goat milk, An Jing began raising a goat.

The three little beauties really liked herding goats, so An Jing and Xiao Changyi raised two more goats, allowing each little beauty to herd one and preventing disputes among the three.

As for the rice they ate, Meng Lanqing and Meng Zhuqing would occasionally go to An’s Rice Shop to fetch it.

An’s Rice Shop was distributed across Xiyun, making it convenient to fetch rice, so they never worried about lacking rice.

Meng Lanqing, Meng Zhuqing, Tobanya, and Gong Juese didn’t initially know how to grow vegetables, but later, under Xiao Changyi’s command, they started learning from Xiao Changyi and An Jing.
