Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1801: Chapter 1802: Can’t Go Together

Not waiting for Xiao Changyi to speak, An Jing continued, ”Since we’re going into seclusion, we must visit her at least once. By the way, we should also take a look at our former home. There are so many memories there for us.”

”Mm.” Xiao Changyi still had no objections. And the memories of that home were truly beautiful.

...

On the eighteenth day of the first month of the fourteenth year since An Jing arrived, she and Xiao Changyi planned to set off to visit Shi Xiaolan in Jiuping Village.

However, the three little beauties wouldn’t let them get on the horse, clinging to their legs and refusing to let go.

”Daddy, Mommy, can’t you take us with you?” The three little beauties were very lively. Seeing An Jing and Xiao Changyi about to leave and knowing it would be a while before they returned, the three little ones wanted to go out and play with them.

The three little beauties were only a little over three years old, and bringing them along would only slow down the journey. So An Jing and Xiao Changyi decided not to take them on this trip.

However, seeing the three little ones clinging to their legs, looking up with bright eyes and expectant faces, hoping to be taken out to play, An Jing and Xiao Changyi found them incredibly cute, melting their hearts.

”The road is too far. If we take you along, we won’t know when we’ll be able to return.” An Jing comforted them with a smile. ”Your eldest brother, third brother, and fourth brother will be at home, and your godmother will take care of your brother Yuanzhe. They will keep you company. Be good, and if Daddy and Mommy see anything fun on the road, we’ll buy it and bring it back for you.”

At this moment, Su Yi Jing, An Yiqing, and An Yiyun stepped forward, each taking one of their little brothers away from their parents’ legs.

”Big brother, if you let me ride on your shoulders, I’ll let Daddy and Mommy go.” Being pulled by Su Yi Jing, An Yiqi still wanted to grab onto An Jing and Xiao Changyi’s legs, but realizing he couldn’t break free from Su Yi Jing’s grip, he earnestly tried to negotiate with his big brother in his childish voice, looking up at him seriously.

An Jing and Xiao Changyi could only find it amusing.

Su Yi Jing’s mouth twitched slightly but he still nodded in agreement, ”I’ll let you ride later.”

Hearing this, An Yiqi immediately became happy.

An Yilin and An Yizhi were much more obedient, one being led away quietly by An Yiqing and the other by An Yiyun, without making any demands to ride on their shoulders.

Without the three little ones clinging to their legs, An Jing and Xiao Changyi could leave. Once on their horses, they spoke a few more words to the children, gave some instructions, and then rode off.

Su Yi Jing, An Yiqing, and An Yiyun stayed behind.

Accompanying them were Meng Lanqing and Qin Yi.

In other words, the journey to Jiuping Village was a company of four.

Since the Imperial City was quite far from Jiuping Village, An Jing and Xiao Changyi spent eight days riding on horseback to reach there.

The present Jiuping Village was quite different from the past. Not only had the village grown larger, but there were also more houses, and none of the households seemed too dilapidated. Clearly, the villagers of Jiuping Village were living better lives now.

The thatched cottage that An Jing and Xiao Changyi once provided for Shi Xiaolan was still standing, but no one lived there anymore. Shi Xiaolan and Wu Xiaoshan now had their own house in the village, with several rooms and a large courtyard.

When An Jing was taken by Dongfang Tianyang’s people, Meng Lanqing had come to Jiuping Village to inquire with Shi Xiaolan, so he knew where she lived. Thus, he directly led An Jing and Xiao Changyi to Xiaolan’s house.
