Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1834: Chapter 1835: So Direct

After spending more than half a month, Qingqing finished making the wedding garments for herself and Su Yi Jing, drawing praise from An Jing and Tobanya. The garments were truly well-made, with a lot of embroidery.

Qingqing’s embroidery skills are indeed outstanding.

As December arrived, the weather became even colder. The north wind always howled past, resembling a ghost’s wail and wolf’s howl. Especially at night, hearing such sounds was actually a bit frightening.

”Qingqing.”

Qingqing was nestled in the quilt for warmth, her eyes open and staring at the oil lamp, unable to sleep. When she heard Su Yi Jing’s knocking on the door, Qingqing immediately got up, threw on an outer coat, and went to open the door for Su Yi Jing.

Seeing Qingqing dressed thinly, Su Yi Jing quickly had her return to lie down on the bed.

After closing the door to prevent the cold wind from blowing in, Su Yi Jing walked to Qingqing’s bedside, sat on the round stool by the bed, and handed the item to Qingqing: ”For you.”

The item was on a red string and consisted of a peach pit, which is considered to ward off evil spirits.

”Did you make this?” Qingqing asked slowly while accepting the peach pit to look at it.

”Yes.” Pausing, ”I made it especially for you.”

Qingqing’s face reddened. She didn’t speak but examined the peach pit closely for a while before putting it on her wrist.

Her wrist was fair, and the red string tied on it made it look even prettier. But Qingqing didn’t look at the red string; instead, she kept her eyes lowered, gazing at the peach pit threaded through the string.

”Since you’ve put it on, don’t take it off anymore.” Su Yi Jing was very pleased that Qingqing took the initiative to wear the item on her wrist.

He’s always been so domineering, but Qingqing rarely contradicted him: ”What if I take it off?”

”Perhaps it’s better that you don’t know the answer to that question.” Pausing, ”Consider it a token of my love for you.”

A love token...

Qingqing’s face reddened more. Upon inspecting the peach pit, she noticed it had the character ”Jing” engraved on it, which made her face feel even hotter.

...

On December 4th, An Jing was seven months pregnant, and on this day, it started snowing heavily.

The snow fell continuously for two days and nights before stopping, leaving everything covered in silver. An Jing loved snow, and wanted to play in it, but being pregnant and considering the child in her belly, An Jing didn’t play in the snow despite wanting to.

She merely stood with Xiao Changyi at the main hall doorway, watching outside as Su Yi Jing accompanied Qingqing, who also liked snow, walking in the snowy, icy world.

”Husband, our Jing’er is remarkable,” An Jing couldn’t help but smile and sigh as she watched. ”I used to worry that his personality might make it hard for him to get married. Ever since Qingqing appeared, I realized my worries were unfounded. He’s proactive.” Pausing, ”Just like you~”

Xiao Changyi was very satisfied with his eldest son, ”When you encounter someone you like, naturally you should pursue them actively.”

”That’s true.” An Jing smiled brightly, ”I prefer being direct.”

Xiao Changyi immediately said, ”So do I.”

”Hahaha...” An Jing couldn’t hold back anymore and burst into laughter, feeling especially happy. If both she and he hadn’t been direct back then, they wouldn’t have known when they’d finally be together.

Sometimes being direct is really good.

It’s evident that at this very moment, she doesn’t regret her directness back then, and she’s also very satisfied with her husband’s directness then.

Just as An Jing was laughing loudly, in the distance, Qingqing accidentally stepped onto a frozen spot and slipped.

Thud.

When Qingqing slipped, her head collided with a coarse tree trunk buried by snow on the ground.
