COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

“.....” H-Hachiman felt like wavering.

Actually a little confused right now, because Ichinose was wearing his clothes without any of her own.

Although the shirt was long, her first button was not.....It makes people not know where to put their eyes.

“It’s best if you can cheer up,” Hachiman finally said, looking at the ceiling, “One school year is over, keep working hard for next.”

“Hai! Hai!” Ichinose nodded vigorously.

She also has an advantage that Kushida doesn’t have, that is, Hikigaya and she agreed to meet again on this day next year, and then review sadness, joy, failure, success and other things in past year together.

It’s like having a backup.

Next day came.

Eight o’clock in morning. In theory, this is everyone’s class meeting. Chabashira-sensei also came this way.

“First of all, congratulations on being promoted to a higher class at end of this semester.”

This school will not deal with belongings of students who drop out immediately, but will arrange for someone to change the sign as soon as the students are promoted to a higher Class.

When everyone returned to the classroom, they found sign had changed to Class B. At this time a student raised his hand.

It’s Yukimura-kun.

“Chabashira-sensei, now that exam is over, does that mean semeste----”

“You understand correctly. Normally, you can have a day off today, and then report to your new classroom on April 1st. You will be sophomores then. But.....” Chabashira wrote rating scores of the four classes on blackboard.

Class A (Sakayanagi) 1380 points

Class B (Horikita) 1155.7 points

Class C (Ichinose) 1148.1 points

Class D (Ryuen) 250

But she didn’t seem to mention it.

“Now you have one more thing to do. That is to attend resignation of the President at ten o’clock this morning, and then will be election of new Student Council President. Based on past experience, the election will last two days. But this year’s situation is special.”

Isn’t it special? Both vice presidents of student council were fired!

The only candidate right now is Arisu Sakayanagi.

If there is only one candidate, then naturally... there is no need to continue choosing.

“Of course, You are not completely free. You need to participate in the 3rd-year graduation ceremony on March 10th.”

It’s already 28th of month. Tomorrow will be.....

“Sensei!” At this time, someone raised his hand again.

But when they saw her, everyone found it acceptable.

Because the person who raised her hand was Horikita Suzune. 3rd year is graduating, which means Manabu is also going to.....

Only those who graduate from Class A can receive the rewards advertised by school.

“Are there any special exams for senior students in March?”

“There are no more tests. This month’s special exam is over, and it will be last exam for third graders. The reason we delayed it until March 10th is to give them an extra month’s living expenses.”

“Isn’t this awesome?” Many people immediately felt this school was very humane.

’It is a very beautiful thing.....Because I took Jura forest training exam last November, and received corresponding points from Class A of 3rd grade, which were worth 2254 points for each of four months. According to my estimate, it can last 4 months. December, January, February and then March......’

’In fact, in February, teacher informed us that Commander exam would be the last exam of this semester, and I was a little worried that if third-year students took the exam and graduated this month, wouldn’t I lose one month’s salary? You know, there are 2254x40x100=9.016 million in a month! But now it seems that school is still very gentle. My money was saved.....’

It was ten o’clock in morning. All students gathered in the gymnasium.

Then he noticed council members standing at the podium, from President Horikita Manabu to VP Sakayanagi Arisu, as well as secretary and the accountant.

Someone remembered that at the assembly last month, President Horikita announced that Sakayanagi from Class B of first grade was recognized by him as the VP.

The student council of ANHS has great authority, and the person who stands at top of all students President.

Every President has the right to form his or her own team.

You can either keep seniors to help, or expel them all and then appoint candidates yourself.

In general, student council can be established as a place where one can have the final say.

In previous years, competition for president was fierce, but this year is different.

Both vice presidents resigned, so only the new, Arisu Sakayanagi, was left.

Therefore, it is very likely that she is the successor designated by Horikita Manabu himself. She is also only candidate at the moment.

The third-year students are about to graduate, and each class has been notified to attend the graduation ceremony on March 10th.

In other words, president asked everyone to gather together now to replace.....

So, time came to ten o’clock.

“First of all, on behalf of all members of the Student Council, I would like to express my gratitude to all students for everyone to support our work.”

The student council members stood at the podium one by one, and Horikita Manabu picked up the microphone.

At this time, there was a cute girl sitting next to him holding a cane.

......With short silver hair, clear eyes and snow-white skin, she is as cute as a doll.

This is Sakayanagi Arisu.

She is also object of great attention of students in Class A of first grade.

After enrolling, their class paid points to learn rules of the school and immediately understood real importance of council.

Among them, Katsuragi applied to join several times.

Because has great authority, it can obtain a lot of information.

Although you cannot directly obtain the content of exam, you can know results or some arrangements earlier.

At the same time, they have authority to deduct points for violations of other classes.

In other words, You have the power to punish and deduct points.

For example, if Ryuen’s class does something stupid and needs to be deducted points, you can deal with it with the heaviest punishment based on your mood.

As President, even has the privilege to expel a student directly.

Then, as class of President, status of Class A will become solid and unshakable.

No President would deduct a lot of points from his own class. It must be targeting others.

Classes like Ryuen will be dealt with in minutes.

This is a case of extreme favoritism, unlike previous one, Horikita Manabu, who was completely unbiased.

Very honest.

“During my time as President, I did not seek to achieve anything, but rather avoid making mistakes—” Manabu spoke with great emotion at the summit platform.

But students’ minds are not so pure.

The third-year who were about to leave became sentimental, and some even cried as reviewed everything that had happened in school and their choices for future.

The entire stadium was filled with a sensational atmosphere.

Sophomores were in low spirits.

As for first-year students, except for Class A which was very excited, the other three did not react much.

Except for some people who already knew the disadvantages of Sakayanagi becoming President, most people just treated this as a rally.

Here comes key point of Manabu.

“As for the successor, it is as you can see. I once promoted two Vice Presidents, but unfortunately, they went against my approval....” As he said, two of second-year students were the focus of attention.

One is Nagumo Miyabi from Class A of second grade, and other is Kiriyama from original Class A of second grade.

It was obvious that Kiriyama was fired because of Nagumo’s trick.

If latter hadn’t asked him to ignore the demands and rumors of first-year students, his position would not have been removed.

As for Nagumo himself...

“I have no regrets about what I did before. I have always admired Horikita Manabu and wanted to fight him in person. But unfortunately, it is basically impossible for people of different grades to bite each other.”

From this perspective, Senior Nagumo seems to be upright.

At this time, Vice President Sakayanagi, who was sitting at the top, glanced at team area of Class A of second grade.

She has a point card in her hand.

“Drop!”

[The credit limit on point card is 14 million]

Got this morning, Nagumo’s atonement money, who was probably also well aware that he had become an enemy of her and Hikigaya Hachiman.

So in order to prevent Sakayanagi from gaining power and using the student council president’s cash withdrawal to expel him, he had to resort to trickery.

Horikita Manabu is a very fair student council president who won’t abuse his power, but Sakayanagi Arisu is different.

Nagumo was worried about being fired by her. So, prepare to bribe in advance.

This was also what he had been preparing for after knew that Kiriyama had no hope, preparing points, at least 20 million points, to prevent himself from being fired.

But unfortunately, time is too short and he can only raise 16 million now.

There is still a gap of 4 million.

To get another 4 million, he would have to collect it from all the sophomores, which would definitely affect his reputation.

So, he would not do it until the last minute.

But after meeting Sakayanagi today, she was more willing to give in.

....It seemed that she thought it would be more appropriate for him to submit points directly to her rather than fire him.

Indeed, What would she gain by firing him? Nothing, and even used the student council president’s authority to expel people.

The President can expel students, which is a big deterrent.....

If she uses it directly, her own defense will be reduced by 50%.

So, it’s best to keep it.

Sakayanagi made a suggestion, he could continue to gather points, but there was no need to hand them over to the school to save his life, she could sign an agreement that she would not expel him after she became the student council president.

However, price was proposed by him when first-year students were going to Island for the exam.

If she withdrew from the election, he would give her 14 million.

At that time, Sakayanagi’s request was 20 million.

The result is now opposite.

Sakayanagi was about to become the president, but he lost the chance, and then had to work hard to avoid being fired.

Although he was in a bad mood, Nagumo knew very well that Sakayanagi would not be as fair as Horikita-senpai.

So it is certain that public revenge is used to take personal ones.

He could only pay points to sign an agreement with Sakayanagi.

He paid her 14 million so that she could not use her authority to expel him.

The point card worth 14 million has been submitted to Sakayanagi, and he also got a letter of guarantee.

However, he also knew that Sakayanagi was not someone who would stop so easily, and that if she kept him, she must have thought that he could collect points of the second years, so he was not safe yet.

It’s like having a sword of Demon King hanging over your head.

But all is not hopeless.

The reason why he lost so badly this time was partly because he lost the chance to run for student council president, and partly because Sakayanagi got 100 votes from third graders at the beginning.

So, votes are on her side.

Now third graders are about to leave, and when graduate, freshmen will enter school.

When time comes, If he could persuade the first-year students to rebel, and if Sakayanagi made a serious mistake or scandal during her tenure as President, then...

There is still a chance. After today, Nagumo is still perverted.

Although people thought he had lost, 2nd-year students around him still saw his confidence.

Meanwhile, at the summit desk, Sakayanagi scanned points on her point card into her phone and sent a message while sitting in her chair.

In team of boys from Class 1B, a boy wearing purple glasses lowered his head.

Someone transferred money to him.

The notification tone for account arrival information is different from that for messages.

Hachiman took out his cell phone and looked at it.

[Your account has received 7 million personal points, the transferor is Sakayanagi Arisu, current balance is 47.783 million]

“…” Hachiman looked at transfer text message.

Then he opened the chat software and sent a message to Sakayanagi?

The other party replied quickly.

[The agreement with you cannot be fulfilled. Nagumo has submitted the protection fee.....I am afraid I cannot fulfill your request. This is a refund of half of the protection fee to you.]

by Sakayanagi.

“.....” Hachiman.

Agreement?

Hachiman remembered that during Ichinose rumor incident, he sold the votes of Ichinose’s class and his own class to Sakayanagi.

Cost is 5 million points.

Then he made Sakayanagi agree to a request, that is, he would drop out Nagumo after becoming President.

However, since there are no other candidates now, Sakayanagi actually lost money when she bought the votes.

But....She is still so generous.

After paying 5 million, she returned half of Nagumo’s protection fee. Hachiman accepted transfer for time being.

While thinking this, he found top of the chat software showed words the other party was typing.

[Even though I can’t complete it after receiving money, it doesn’t mean that no one can.]

[There is another person.]

Another person.

Hachiman stared at message from Sakayanagi and began to think.

At this time, Horikita Manabu continued his speech.

“As you can see, Vice president of the student council from Class A of first year will be my successor. I am a person who values individual talent, and I acknowledge that she has required abilities. It stands to reason that she should be announced as the next Student Council President now...”

“But before, there is someone who still holds right to be a candidate President. And now.....”

“First-year class B, Hikigaya Hachiman, do you want to run for the next student council president?”

“Good fellow!”

Almost instantly, the boy named Hikigaya Hachiman was surrounded by people he knew and didn’t know.

Even Nagumo, who was at the head of Class A in Grade 2, stared over.

At the same time, smile and confidence on his face could hardly be maintained.

Because he had submitted a point card with 14 million points to Arisu Sakayanagi, and obtained an agreement not to fire him.

What if Sakayanagi couldn’t become President, but Hikigaya instead? Then he’s going to be in trouble?

You know, he told Hikigaya right in front of him that if he became the president, he would definitely expel him. Nagumo didn’t think Hikigaya would be so generous.

’If Hikigaya becomes student council president, then he will definitely expel me....And once it does, I may have no choice but to gather 20 million points.....But 14 million have already been taken by Sakayanagi, so my 20 million cannot be collected... Oh no, then I can still collect it. Because agreement I signed with Sakayanagi was based on her being the student council president. Therefore, since she is not, points should be returned to me!’

Although gathering points might offend his senior class, there was nothing that could be done now.

Nagumo could be allowed to stay if he could gather another 4 million points.

Thinking of this, he felt a little relieved.
