COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

Karuizawa was still in a daze.

“Are you sleeping or what?”

She had no choice but to get into the elevator.

Hikigaya-kun was rushing her back to the dorm because her hair was wet and he didn’t want her to catch a cold.

It’s considerate though.

But even though she was clearly cared for, Kei suddenly felt... not in a good mood.

Hachiman returned to rest on a chair in lobby on first floor and sat down.

He didn’t lie.

Ichinose was currently catching up on her sleep in his room, and Hachiman also wanted her to get some rest, so he wouldn’t go back to his room for at least another two or three hours.

Just kill some time here.

Because Sakayanagi brought up the idea of playing chess in exam, Hachiman learned a little bit about and also played a single-player game, but unfortunately, his skills were only average.

He was captured in just sixteen steps.

[Do you want to watch the ad to get a chance to undo your move?]

“.....”

However, downloaded software is not clean and contains a lot of advertisements.

When Hachiman was about to click on the ad to get another chance to challenge, he suddenly found a girl walking in front of him.

The other person was wearing white socks, and if you looked up slightly, you could see that she was a girl wearing three hairpins.

Although she is very good-looking, has a stern face.

It seems there is always some expression of disdain appears casually.

Hikigaya had only seen this kind of expression on one person, and that was Kamuro-san.

Although she has poor academic ability, but good legs of flesh, and more importantly, she is Sakayanagi Arisu’s dog.

She is the most trusted person.

She is also girl from whom Hikigaya-kun learned many secrets for free.

“Kamuro-san, are you looking for me?” Hachiman turned around slowly and looked directly into the other person’s calm eyes and said.

“Sakayanagi is in a bad mood right now. She asked you to go over there.”

“.....” Hachiman.

’Sakayanagi was in a bad mood, even though her class had returned to A and even won against Ayanokoji in the chess game. What else is she dissatisfied with?’

“It seems like she received a call from someone from another school.....”

’From another school? Students can’t do this kind of thing...Ok...’ Hachiman understood.

It was probably because Acting Chairman Tsukishiro contacted Sakayanagi alone after the exam.

Hachiman actually had some ideas about this matter. ’Because of the previous class vote to drop out of school, Tsukishiro gave Sakayanagi a mission, but she was in her mood wings and refused violently.....That should be it. He told her about the test, and Sakayanagi won but lost, her mood became bad....’

“Then come with me to the room,” Kamuro-san said so, and then left with an attitude that she had done what her superiors asked to do and it was none of her business.

The attitude was so cold that it exploded.

However, for those who know her, although Kamuro-san is cold, she never fails to do what she is supposed to do after giving orders.

A reliable person. So, Hachiman followed her obediently.

However, analyzing from the words revealed.

’Although Tsukishiro contacted Sakayanagi, I believe that his purpose was to strike back at her....But it shouldn’t be serious....Because the part that he intervened in the end was Ayanokoji’s game, and at same time, the projects of Sakayanagi’s class extracted by the computer at the beginning directly reached 5, which is an incredible performance....If he wanted to take revenge on her, wouldn’t do such a thing as giving the other person a favor for free....He should just pretend to fight back against Sakayanagi. But in reality, won’t attack her....Especially since she will be the next Student Council President.....’

Sakayanagi Arisu was angry.

Hikigaya was actually a little hesitant about this opponent.

Sakayanagi is a genius, no doubt about that. Both were in a rival class, if decided to fight, would be a tough opponent to deal with.

The other party is another rich loli.

Not only is she generous, also often treats people to meals. It makes Hikigaya-kun feel very happy.

It is indeed difficult to deal with such a rich Lolita when she is in a bad mood. Because she may not invite people to dinner for a long time.

“…”

Whatever the possibility, it seemed he had no choice but to go.

“Are you going to your room?” Hachiman quickly caught up with Kamuro-san and asked.

This is the dormitory, and there is no sign of Kamuro-san going outside, so she must be going to the room.

“No,” However, she quickly rejected it, “It’s Sakayanagi’s”

’....I thought that since she always treated Kamuro-san as her assistant, even the local authorities would requisition her room, but now it seems that is not the case.....Miss Sakayanagi is still kind-hearted.’

However, Kamuro-san has been to his room and even deliberately sat on bed, but he has never been to her room, which is a little unfair.

’We have reached the girls’ floor.

Kamuro-san opened the door. Soon, the pink little princess-like interior scene of Sakayanagi’s room, which I had seen once before, appeared before my eyes.....’

The pink wallpaper and the bed are covered with bear or bunny stuffed animals.

Very girly.

It has been confirmed that Sakayanagi will be the next student council president, and Hachiman has been to Manabu’s office several times, where the attire appears quite neat and tidy.

Pretty standard.

This is just Horikita Manabu’s style.

However, Sakayanagi and Manabu are completely different types.

’I’m a little worried that after Sakayanagi takes over, she will decorate the student council to her liking......may be a lot of cute dolls inside....Full of girlish atmosphere. Do I really want to be taken to a place where it was not good for boys to be around?’ While thinking this, Hachiman set his sights on Sakayanagi Arisu.

Her state was somewhat surprising. She was wearing home clothes and sitting beside a coffee table with a cup of fragrant black tea on it.

She herself placed one hand on the pages of the book on coffee table and turned her head.

Logically, she should be angry.

It’s quite fashionable now. Because, she was wearing a pair of glasses.

It feels very fresh.

“What’s wrong, Hikigaya-kun? Are you just going to stand at the door like this? Or Do you still feel guilty? You agreed to fight me with all your strength, but you were either focusing on Ayanokoji-kun or Tsukishiro-kun, and just now, you even went to see Hirata-kun, right? I should say that I underestimated you. I never thought you have talent of a master of Time Management....”

Um.....Hikigaya immediately confirmed that Sakayanagi was indeed angry.

Master of Time Management.

It is usually used to describe the operation plan of multiple introverted students, but Hachiman does not think he has such talent.

’I think Sakayanagi probably used the wrong word, she must be angry now.....’

“I did try my best. Because in terms of the result, this is what I wanted to achieve after trying everything.....”

“So, going back to Class D is what you want? You miss your home that much?” Sakayanagi blinked her eyes twice, as if she wanted to confirm.

“If Ryuen’s class is willing.”

“.....” Sakayanagi feels that Hikigaya Hachiman is always talking about things which are irrelevant.

Because she had made the same proposal before during sports festival, she would pay 20 million points to buy Hikigaya to Class A.

But it’s a pity, other party refused.

’And now, Ryuen-kun probably hasn’t even gathered 20 million, but Hikigaya-kun is already ready to go there? It’s like playing a game of love strategy. You just made him like you, but he quickly gave up. And before you know it, he’s suddenly with that unremarkable idiotic country girl. It’s simply heartless!’

“I can’t accept result of this exam.  The Acting chairman Tsukishiro called me. I’m in a bad mood.....”

“....So, what do you want to do?”

When he entered the room, Sakayanagi did not immediately blame him, which meant that she actually knew that although Hikigaya-kun only considered duel with her as part of this exam, he did not give it his full strength.

However, as for the result, she had no right to be angry.

Because her class won and got back her spot in A of first grade.

This will be her record in next election for President. She got the benefit. She had no right to be angry.

“Kamuro-san betrayed me before, so I punished her by making her reflect on her mistakes in the dormitory, which means she was grounded for three days.....”

“…” Kamuro-san.

Currently, Masumi Kamuro is in the small kitchen, making tea with a reluctant look on her face.

Unexpectedly, she was suddenly involved in conversation between the two. And it’s such a crucial topic.

“I’m not traitor to class this time!” She said immediately.

She also received news that students who participated in the Go program were unable to attend seventh game due to illness.

Clearly, something went wrong.

“Of course I know,” Sakayanagi said to Kamuro with a cool voice, “And don’t use the Lipton tea bag you drink. This one tastes a bit astringent. Change it to Darjeeling for Hikigaya-kun.”

Although he didn’t know much about the varieties of black tea, this was Sakayanagi’s intentional treat, and as a guest, all he had to do was wait and drink.

He was flattered that Sakayanagi had even considered his taste.

“Hikigaya-kun, overall, this duel seems to be my victory. But I am not someone who can’t stand losing. This confrontation was my failure.....”

Is Sakayanagi admitting defeat?

This made Hikigaya look at her in surprise. He thought she would be angry, but it turned out that she was not angry, but came to admit defeat.

“As a loser, I can agree to one condition of yours.”

Um? Is there such a good thing?

Although he still had a spot for the student council president election, it was no longer available for sale.

The only one available now is Arisu Sakayanagi.

....Therefore, it is just a foregone conclusion that Sakayanagi will become President.

What Hikigaya-kun can definitely propose now is to wait for you to become student council president and then nominate him as a member of council, or to leave a spot vacant for him if he wants to give it to someone else.

“…” Hachiman thought perhaps it didn’t need to be brought up specifically. Think about it for a moment.

“Then can you let me stay in your room for 2 or 3 hours?”

“....Huh?” This request was probably something Sakayanagi herself hadn’t expected.

’Because according to my understanding, Hikigaya-kun is not someone who is easily dealt with. He is someone who will seize opportunities and gain the greatest benefits.....So, whether the other party asked me to take away position as a student council member after I became the President, or wanted to use the convenience of Sakayanagi family to prepare an easy position for him after he graduated, or to help him with introductions, etc. Or, I might be asked to give Kamuro-san’s ownership.’ She has considered all of these possibilities before giving her proposal.

’Result, is this what you want? Just want to stay here for a while?’

”Are you sure?” Sakayanagi pushed up her glasses slightly.

“I don’t want to go back to my room for now.....”

“.....” Sakayanagi is a genius, but she can’t understand Hikigaya Hachiman right now.

’Because at this moment, I seemed to have present more than a dozen possibilities in my brain, such as something happened in Hikigaya-kun’s room, so he couldn’t go back. Or maybe he was hiding some terrible secret, so he couldn’t go back. Or did he feel better staying in my room right now? Do you feel that you didn’t fulfill the promise you made to me, and so you feel guilty and need to stay and accompany me?’

“.....” Sakayanagi. ’Even if I am a genius, too many ideas will make you unable to choose. Because I think both are possible.....’

“If that’s what you want, I don’t mind,” She clapped her hands and Kamuro-san, who was in the kitchen, brought the Darjeeling tea Sakayanagi had asked her to prepare.

“Thank you,” Hachiman said as he looked at the teacup in front of him that was emitting a refreshing fragrance.

“....” Sakayanagi Arisu.

’Almost at this moment, I actually wanted to arrange for Kamuro-san to go to Hikigaya-kun’s room. Because I felt that he really couldn’t go back to his room now, but wanted to disturb me here for two hours....So what’s in his room? Is anyone there?’

’I knew that Ichinose-san had failed miserably in this exam, and that in rumor incident about her, Hikigaya-kun had conquered her before me....According to Kushida-san, proposed a marriage agreement to her. He would give Kushida-san 20 million yen to graduate from Class A, and she would marry him after graduation and support him.....This fit in with what I knew about Hikigaya-kun. From every perspective, Ichinose-san is better than Kushida-san.....Is it possible that Hikigaya-kun and Ichinose-san also signed such an agreement?’

’Ichinose-san who suffered a huge shock today, and then... was comforted by Hikigaya-kun, and ended up being placed in his room first....And he didn’t want to go back, probably because she was resting in his room.... Ichinose-san must be very upset today, so she cannot let her classmates see her in this state. In this case, Hikigaya-kun had no choice but to lend the room to her first. In other words, it’s not just Kushida-san, Hikigaya-kun is really ambitious. The target is Ichinose-san, or you have become good friends.....’

“…..”

“• 💢 •” Sakayanagi.
