Chapter 150: Chapter 76: Follow-up Issues of the Dream

Su Jiameng was troubled by this problem for quite a while. Later, she branched out and started from other words. Maybe people in this world have another name for telepathic abilities? With this thought, she investigated further.

Finally, she found out in a bittersweet way that this world did not lack telepathy; rather, no one has truly discovered its real nature, mistaking it for a mental illness, which is the term widely accepted by people of the future interstellar era—Simoles Deficiency Syndrome!

According to historical records of Su Jiameng’s second life, telepathy was originally a special ability of a powerful cosmic species, allowing them to dominate other races with its existence. They had a complete system for using and awakening telepathy.

However, as the tide of time progressed, this species gradually vanished from the cosmic stage due to extremely low reproductive capabilities, with the total number of members not even filling up a single planet. Moreover, their numbers continued to decrease.

By the time humankind moved from the Earth Era into the interstellar era, that species had dwindled to a terrifyingly small number. Other species gradually discovered that telepathy users began to appear among them, quickly growing by borrowing the telepathic system of that species.

As for the interstellar future... she searched but found no records of that powerful species.

In other words, the beings from Su Jiameng’s second life were able to pass down telepathy so smoothly because they possessed a complete system and data, equivalent to standing on the shoulders of giants to view the world.

But this world is not so lucky, with a foundation of zero for anything relating to telepathy. Developing and deriving the highly refined telepathy theory system perfected by that powerful species for tens of thousands of years from a base of zero is too difficult.

Having figured out these things, Su Jiameng didn’t know what kind of mindset to adopt toward this reality.

If someday in the future, the Insect Race really stages a comeback, how can people of this interstellar world fight them off? Relying on those weapons? I’m afraid when these weapons meet high-level Insect Race, they’ll learn what it means to shoot themselves in the foot!

A top-tier level ten telepathic ability user can even instantly seize absolute control of large-scale cosmic warships, yet some high-level Insect Race are naturally capable of using telepathy, often being of high level, using control to destroy humanity’s own weapons at no cost and risk! Su Jiameng was somewhat anxious upon learning this possibility.

However, it’s still too early to worry about these things at present. First, Su Jiameng doesn’t know if this world really has the Insect Race. Second, it’s uncertain whether the Insect Race in this world is the same as the one in her previous world. Third... she is currently just a citizen with a mysterious identity; even if she knows how terrifying the Insect Race is, if she talks about it, no one would believe her. Instead, many would say she’s crazy!

The members of the K3 Team are kind-hearted. Seeing Su Jiameng truly exhausted, they didn’t bother her much, taking care of her thoughtfully in various small ways, indulging her. Su Jiameng was truly moved by these gestures.

The team battle ended, and they won again, keeping up a strong record of consecutive victories that was truly unmatched, leaving other teams’ consecutive winning streaks far behind. On the unbeaten leaderboard in this area, they stood out brilliantly.

The members of K3 are still students, with little time to participate in the Mecha Fighting Arena’s competitions, so after a match, they gathered in the lounge to rest without intending to continue competing. Su Jiameng hesitated for a moment and then actively asked K3, ”Um... there’s something I want to ask you guys... do you know about a disease called Simoles Deficiency Syndrome?”

K3 asked her suspiciously, ”Of course, we’ve heard of it, but why did Xiao Meng suddenly bring up this issue?”

Simoles Deficiency Syndrome, even though cases of this disease are extremely rare, the final outcome for those afflicted is enough to make everyone dreadful. Earth Era cancer in the interstellar future is only akin to a minor cold; you just need to take a trip to the hospital to recover.

For organisms of this era, the scariest diseases aren’t limb disabilities, nor are they cancer diseases. Even many so-called unsolvable genetic hereditary diseases have been conquered one by one in recent years. It’s in the mental realm that the headache lies for everyone.

If a patient contracts a spiritual power-related illness, mild symptoms are okay. But if it’s severe... according to current technological levels, most medical personnel can only stand by anxiously, helpless.

Simoles Deficiency Syndrome stands at the top of the pyramid within this field, with somewhat of a ”when standing at the summit” flavor. Simoles Deficiency Syndrome, these short seven words, bring a Mount Tai-like pressure.

However, this disease is terrifying, but its incidence rate is extremely low, belonging to extremely unlucky individuals if afflicted. Furthermore, it’s an innate hereditary disease brought from the womb, diagnosable before school age. What is Xiao Meng worried about?

K3, their minds in brainstorming mode, suddenly thought about the two little ones in Xiao Meng’s family, and he reassured her with a smile, ”Xiao Meng, don’t overthink. Although theoretically everyone could contract Simoles Deficiency Syndrome, the chances are so very small that you don’t have to worry about the kids getting this disease. I wonder... when you have nightmares at night, do you dream that your kids suffer from this illness?”

If that’s the case, it could explain why Xiao Meng is having consecutive nightmares worrying her kids might be unlucky.

K3 thought he had found a plausible explanation, but unexpectedly, he really did guess a small part of the dream’s content correctly. (To be continued.
