Chapter 136: Chapter 70: Telling Lies

Whether it was Faslo or Snow, both developed a strong interest in this, but they did not forget Su Jiameng’s warning. If this technology was indeed so terrifying, they would keep it a secret, not letting others know.

Faslo pondered for a moment, hesitantly asking, ”Since Miss Su has come into contact with the preliminary results, do you know how it turned out?”

Su Jiameng was silent for a moment, then shook her head and said, ”This cannot be disclosed, but according to Brother Yives’ current research progress, we should know the results in three to five years. By then, with more thoughtful consideration, we will have deeper insights. After completing my research, I destroyed all the data. Although I remember the results, the process is mostly blurred; otherwise, I could have given Brother Elise some advice.”

She actually destroyed all the data... Faslo felt a bit disheartened. He had initially thought about taking a look at Su Jiameng’s research drafts to see if their research approaches were similar. Now it seemed impossible...

Su Jiameng didn’t know that her warning was very necessary. If she hadn’t traveled here, the door to secondary energy technology would have been opened by Faslo and Snow together. Although it brought benefits to many Mecha Masters, it also attracted the ravages of war.

Lucy soon returned with a pile of snacks, which surprised Su Jiameng. Faslo and Snow turned out to be sweet food enthusiasts, and they spoke of famous pastry shops nearby with familiarity, leaving her dumbfounded.

Before leaving, Faslo handed Su Jiameng the opening code for that shop and said that if she wanted to buy anything, he could offer her a discount, after all, she was a partner in his sister’s team, and a certain amount of goodwill discount was inevitable.

After Lucy and Su Jiameng logged off, Faslo noticed Snow repeatedly looking at Su Jiameng’s calculated formula, his brow furrowing deeply.

He smiled slightly and said, ”Snow, it seems Lulu has made a very unusual friend. I heard she’s only sixteen this year and is already involved in such research... Whether it’s the previous Mecha Design Map or these things...”

Snow raised an eyebrow and retorted, ”Do you believe what she said? Sixteen years old... At that age, she should be in elementary academy, right? According to her, she says she has researched fundamental results that even many professional scholars cannot fully understand... Calling her cautious yet with words full of loopholes; calling her reckless, yet she adds that all data has been destroyed...”

The biggest constraint for Su Jiameng now is her age. If she were older, roughly similar to Faslo’s age, she would face less suspicion. Unfortunately, Su Jiameng’s body houses someone who has lived through three lifetimes, often forgetting the age issue herself, making questioning inevitable.

Don’t think that Faslo and Snow are research maniacs; they might have low emotional intelligence, but their intelligence always leads at Xilena Academy! Their brains aren’t wooden; such obvious matters wouldn’t escape their notice, would they?

Faslo closed his eyes, and when he reopened them, he returned to his previously calm state. He adjusted his glasses and said indifferently, ”After all, it’s not a big deal. No matter what secrets she has, ultimately it’s unrelated to us. Putting aside these doubts, she is indeed an excellent choice for a friend, whether in terms of knowledge or personality, it suits my taste well.”

Snow rolled his eyes uninterestedly. What Faslo said was truly without any pressure for him. Faslo studied design, which professionally matched Su Jiameng, giving them topics for conversation. But Snow studied system programming... which was quite troublesome!

”Do we still continue researching this project?” Snow asked him.

Though curious, Snow had a bit of a cleanliness freak in him, disliking investigating projects others have conquered. Thinking about working hard only to find out the project already had a conclusion made his internal frustration evident.

Faslo’s lips curled into a smile, saying, ”Of course, we continue our research, and we need to work even harder. I truly want to know what kind of result makes the other party so afraid...”

Snow pursed his lips but did not raise any objections. Breaking through this bottleneck, their subsequent research progressed smoothly, and when they were about to log off and leave, someone visited the shop. Snow raised his hand to check the time, awkwardly muttering, ”She’s here again.”

What Snow meant by ”she” was an extremely peculiar girl... though calling her a girl might be inaccurate because her age matched that of the young girl from the Yives family, making her a woman advancing toward adulthood.

Although he had seen many women, never had he seen someone who possessed such mesmerizing eyes, eyes so tranquil like a millennium-old, lifeless deep pool, chilling to the bone. Just looking into her eyes made one curious about what experiences she went through to become like this. Though Snow seemed somewhat dense, this was just on the surface.

People said he didn’t like women, but reality was that he preferred research more, feeling that having a female companion wasted a lot of time. Yet encountering this woman who could make delicious desserts, he felt an inexplicable heartbeat, an odd sensation...

”You’re here.” He stood up to open the door for her, immediately struck by those alluring eyes as she entered.

”Hmm, this is for you.” The woman handed him a dessert box, and Snow glanced at it briefly, face slightly reddening.

He realized she seemed to understand well that the sweets she gave were his favorites. Due to family upbringing, he dared not let others know his taste preferences, that she grasped this so accurately left him genuinely surprised. (To be continued.
