Chapter 145: Chapter 75: The Nightmare of Prophecy?

What’s going on? Su Jiameng’s mind was foggy, but no one explained it to her. Her gaze unintentionally landed outside the window, and her pupils instantly shrunk! What is... happening? Why are those creatures appearing here?

Outside the window, the creatures that haunted Su Jiameng’s nightmares were crawling densely, seemingly ready to break in through the window.

The young boy’s eyebrows furrowed, and the spiritual power around him suddenly became sharp... Is this... Telekinesis? Su Jiameng was shocked in her heart, and those creatures seemed to initiate a self-destruct mode, bursting with crackling sounds, their visceral fluids splattering all over the window.

”Mom, let’s go quickly, there’s no time!”

The young boy took Su Jiameng out of the house, and those creatures came rushing at them like an endless stream, but under the sharp spiritual power of the boy, they all self-destructed. The weapon in his hand did not stop firing, quickly clearing a path.

Although they both understood, in just one or two seconds, this ”path” would be flooded by those creatures again...

”Everyone come up!” The air currents in the sky shifted, and a pitch-black rope ladder dropped down. The boy took Su Jiameng up the rope ladder.

As the altitude increased, her field of vision widened, and she gradually saw the entire scene happening on the ground.

Densely packed, countless Insect Race creatures were devouring every living thing on the ground. Terrifying cries louder than the last reached her ears, accompanied by the crunching sounds of the creatures chewing their prey. Once the two entered the black mecha, the boy cut the rope, causing the creatures chasing them to fall to the ground, shattering into pieces, with corpses and viscera scattering all around...

Inside the mecha’s cockpit, she discovered another young boy sitting in the pilot’s seat, who looked exactly the same as the one beside her, just with a completely different temperament. The boy looked at the images displayed on the screen, pounding the surrounding objects with a hoarse voice filled with indescribable hatred, ”Qiming Star has ultimately fallen!”

”Brother, stop fooling around! If you don’t want us to fall into pieces in mid-air, go ahead and destroy everything.”

The other boy had just crawled back from the brink of death. Temporarily safe, he began to secure the weapons around him, ensuring they were fully loaded, panting heavily as he said, ”Qiming Star is not the first to fall, nor will it be the last... You need to get used to it.”

The other boy remained silent, only clenching his hands tightly with clearly defined knuckles, showing how hard he was trying to suppress his inner emotions. After a long time, he sighed, looked begrudgingly at the ground, and said coldly, ”Return!”

Su Jiameng watched quietly from the side. Her mind was still muddled, unable to grasp the situation, but from the conversation between the two boys, she somewhat understood the current situation. Qiming Star has fallen... Qiming Star... has fallen?

Alright, she didn’t know if this Qiming Star was the one she was familiar with, but that wasn’t the point!

The critical point was that the Insect Race was rampant, yet there were no rescue forces on the ground. Had the rescue already ended, or had they abandoned it?

She didn’t know, but the atmosphere in the entire cockpit was very heavy and suffocating. As the things on the ground became smaller and smaller, the boy piloting the mecha suddenly mocked himself, ”We’re pretty lucky. If we’d encountered flying ones, we wouldn’t be leaving here today.”

”Does this mean our time hasn’t come yet...” The other boy coldly echoed.

Su Jiameng understood in her heart that this should be a dream, because the two boys’ forms dissipated after saying those words, and the surrounding scenery turned into endless blackness, yet the sounds of the Insect Race gnawing at food, mixed with cries for help and final wails, continued to echo in her ears.

”Leader, you go first, we’ll cover you from the rear!” So familiar... it seems like it was the last words of the deputy in her second life.

”These damn bugs, have the guts to come at me!” She remembered the speaker was a very young recruit, bashful, often teased or joked with by the seasoned guys, but at the last moments of life, he acted especially like a man!

”I’m not married yet, I’m not dying here! Let’s kill these bugs and go home to our wives and warm beds!”

”Alright, when you get married, I will definitely come drink at your wedding, drink you under the table!”

”No refusals, you all come over one by one. Drink less, it’s on me; drink to death, it’s on you!”

...At the last moments of life, a group of people still had the mood to entertain themselves, chatting away, ultimately, they all died. Only she, the useless official who couldn’t bring all of them back, survived. After discovering the second life was a game, Su Jiameng repeatedly told herself, those people were all NPCs, data that had to die, she didn’t have to care...
