Chapter 110: Chapter 57: Fatal Flaw in the Interstellar Network_2

Those entertainment news stories pursue gossip and eye-catching sensations, eagerly depicting the bad deeds of that fat man, his romantic escapades, the arrogant flaunting of wealth by his illegitimate children... greatly satisfying the needs of the gossip-loving public.

But very few have noticed that some things behind this upstart have been deliberately concealed, such as his criminal background and transactions, his connections with those interstellar pirates, the majority of crimes he once committed... and the whereabouts of all his assets.

Although the police were grateful to the anonymous person who alerted them, providing such useful information. They did catch the big fish following this lead. But during the investigation, they discovered that a large amount of the fat man’s funds mysteriously disappeared, with no trace of where the money went, as if the funds had never existed.

But their eyes weren’t blind; it was as if the fat man was being retaliated against, with all property documents and even several companies mortgaged to the bank. So where did the money from those mortgage loans go? And what about the money laundered through his black transactions? The legitimate money earned from legitimate business? When they interrogated the fat man, he shockingly had no answers!

Upon further investigation, it was found that the fat man’s AI had inexplicably gone offline for about an hour, during which all the incidents occurred... Damn, did the fat man provoke some untouchable hacker god?

Even the top cyber expert in the bureau couldn’t find a trace despite investigating thoroughly. Those puzzled by this issue were not just the investigators, but also the subordinates under General Qin who were responsible for this matter.

Old Sir Qin initially didn’t care about this, but upon seeing that the fat man was connected to Star Thieves and engaged in many illegal criminal transactions, his entire face turned a bit unsightly, commanding his subordinates to continue the investigation. When his subordinates came to report, he suddenly furrowed his brows, ”You say... the person who hacked into that person’s AI is a very skilled virtual network hacker?”

”Yes, the other party clearly exploited an interstellar network loophole, with extremely seasoned methods, and acted swiftly and accurately.” Du Chenshuang said gravely, ”But we investigated carefully, and didn’t find which loophole the other party exploited...”

In Future Interstellar, the interstellar network is closely tied to people’s lives, equal in importance to AI.

Leaving such a massive loophole unfixed could lead to criminals repeatedly offending via this loophole, threatening personal privacy and financial security. The consequences could be devastating. Du Chenshuang has always believed the current interstellar network was very complete, but with this incident... so much money disappearing into thin air, AI defenses all failing... the plot and consequences were too severe!

Thinking that someone might repeat the crime, causing society unease and turbulence, his expression grew so serious it could almost drip water. General Qin also realized this and tapped the table with his fingers in frustration, making a dull sound.

”Regarding the loophole, please make a report and deliver it directly to the relevant department. Make sure those guys properly identify this loophole!” General Qin, after all, was not in charge of this particular matter, and if he overstepped into other departments’ affairs, it would make him enemies.

”Yes!” Du Chenshuang observed that General Qin had more instructions and didn’t leave immediately.

Sure enough, half a minute later, General Qin continued, ”This matter holds great significance. You are to personally handle the reporting. Do not leak this news. And, intensify efforts to recover the missing funds.”

Du Chenshuang left, holding a document bag, returning to his office, eyebrows tightly knitted. He opened the specially crafted work AI on his desk, reviewed the detected data, and examined it carefully once more. Perhaps he was lucky, unexpectedly discovering some interesting elements. Before he began researching that fat man’s personal AI, there were actually two different sets of data!

”Two people committing the crime together?” Checking and comparing the data again, he overturned his previous thought. The first hacker was undoubtedly terrifyingly strong, easily breaking into others’ private AI and setting multiple password barriers to obstruct subsequent intruders. The second person, however, gradually cracked the previous passwords before intruding, and the stay was quite brief.

From this, the possibility of these two acting as accomplices was extremely low. Su Jiameng meticulously erased all possible traces that could be removed, making it nearly impossible for others to track her. Though Gu Ningxuan did not invade telekinetically, his strength was also extraordinary.

Facing such discreet opponents, Du Chenshuang rubbed his eyebrows with some headache. More concerning than the missing enormous funds, was the loophole in the interstellar network! Troubled for a moment, he casually sipped a cold cup of coffee from his desk, frowning, ”Who made this coffee, seeking revenge right? Didn’t even add sugar... revenge?”

Du Chenshuang quickly put down the cup, contacted the officer responsible for this matter internally, ”Investigate all of that guy’s previous incidents for me, particularly whether he held grudges, and who those grudges were with, send it all over!”

Du Chenshuang smirked at the corners of his mouth, the extreme bitterness of the coffee still lingering in his mouth, but his heart was boiling with intense excitement. He had been in this Information Monitoring Department for so long without encountering a similar case. If the perpetrator sincerely intended to steal, there were far richer people than the fat man, why were they unharmed? (To be continued.
