Chapter 131: Chapter 68: The Young Lady Who Collects Scrap?

Hearing Liang Ye mention that Qin Mo needed discarded Energy Blocks, Su Yanjing frowned slightly. Others might not understand, but how could he not know?

Only those unfortunate enough to have had direct encounters would truly grasp K3’s influential background. In short, he could confidently guarantee that you could count on one hand the people at Xilena First Affiliated School who could match K3 in status.

Despite Qin Mo’s family background, which didn’t allow him a life of comfort and luxury since childhood, the Qin Family never lacked resources. He was considered the heir to General Qin’s legacy, with no lack of food or clothing, so why collect discarded Energy Blocks?

Encountering two people wanting to collect discarded Energy Blocks in one day was enough to pique the curiosity of Su Yanjing, who normally didn’t care about anything. That woman wanted to collect them; perhaps she came from a humble background and was enticed by the seemingly lucrative profit, which was understandable. But Qin Mo... he just didn’t seem like the kind of person who’d like to take advantage of this...

After returning, Qin Mo indeed mentioned this matter. Su Yanjing thought for a moment and asked, ”Why? You don’t lack money.”

K3 was straightforward, pointing to the supper on the coffee table, ”I have a friend who wants to open a restaurant, but the energy costs are too high, so I wanted to acquire some Energy Blocks from our practical classes to help reduce costs.”

”That’s all?” Su Yanjing recalled a recent video call, a hint of disgust flickering across his face.

Although it disappeared quickly, K3 caught it keenly and asked with some consternation, ”Yanjing, what’s up with you today? I’m just asking if it’s possible or not, just two or three words. Why the creepy expression?”

”Nothing, personal matters.” Su Yanjing threw his shirt onto the sofa and went to the bathroom to shower, leaving K3 utterly speechless.

What did that guy mean? Is he agreeing or not?

Feeling a bit miffed, K3 pettily blocked his way. When Su Yanjing came out of the bathroom with just a towel wrapped around him, he saw his roommate blocking the door like a sentinel. He raised his hand, drying his hair with a towel, and asked, ”What’s up?”

”Are you having a fit today?” K3 asked bluntly, ”You seem to dislike the topic of discarded Energy Blocks a lot?”

Though usually indifferent and spending his days tinkering with handmade dolls, rarely speaking more than a hundred words a day, he wasn’t usually like this. There was something inexplicably cold about him today, especially that previous look of disgust!

”Don’t like it.” Su Yanjing sidestepped K3 with such terse words that K3 couldn’t help but feel a pang of frustration — would speaking a little more kill him?

”Alright, if you don’t like it, you don’t like it...” K3 patted him on the shoulder, ”But seeing as we’re roommates, I’ll take your Energy Blocks. I promise you won’t lose out; your stomach will thank you.”

Su Yanjing couldn’t even be bothered to lift his eyelids and continued packing his satchel, ”You’re too late.”

Too... late? K3 blinked, somewhat unable to accept this reality. Knowing his roommate rarely cared about things he wasn’t interested in, the Energy Blocks were usually handed over to the teachers to deal with. How could he have already dealt with them just as the school year was beginning?

After seriously considering Su Yanjing’s words, he asked, ”Are you saying... you’ve already handed your Energy Blocks over to someone else? Or did someone else ask you for them?”

Su Yanjing paused, then nodded in acknowledgment. Although Qin Mo was a bit frustrated, he didn’t dwell on it too much, just thinking he had bad luck running into this setback. After all, there were other options besides Su Yanjing.

After tidying up his satchel, considering he occupied the majority of the dormitory, he kindly advised, ”Don’t look for classmates.”

K3 paused, staring at Su Yanjing in confusion — why couldn’t he look for classmates?

Familiar as they were, a simple eye exchange communicated the basics. Su Yanjing thought for a moment, then pulled up a chat log from his device and sent it to K3. The chat wasn’t complex but made K3’s face turn dark.

Someone acted faster than him. Someone posted in the department group chat offering high prices for Energy Blocks. Seeing the ID, he couldn’t help but laugh, ”Yanjing, has your family been mistreating her, forcing her to resort to this business?”
