Chapter 138: Chapter 71: This Person Is Definitely Up to Something_2

”Faslo, go check if she has any other suspicious activities...” He hated people approaching him with ulterior motives. If they wanted to buy a project, they should just say so. Why go to such lengths to orchestrate an encounter, using emotions to confuse and deceive?

Faslo nodded, determined not to let his good friend suffer. He thought the junior student who schemed to get close to Snow must be meticulous, but she turned out to be even more oblivious than he imagined, wasting his feelings!

Looking at the initial information he gathered, Faslo felt like laughing. She had been overtly and covertly buying up discarded energy blocks four or five months ago, and recently she had similar actions at the Xilena First Affiliated School... But four or five months ago, Snow didn’t even know her.

To say she was innocent didn’t hold water. Even more strangely, she merely kept buying energy blocks without taking any other actions, as if deliberately hoarding them, waiting for the two of them to produce some kind of research result...

Faslo frowned in thought and said, ”Your decision is correct. Whether this person has a problem or not, cut off all ties in the future. As for the research data, keep it secure, add more defenses, lest it gets stolen. I will continue to investigate this person and see what game she’s playing! I’ll contact Miss Su tonight...”

Deliberately approaching his brother, toying with his emotions—she must be tired of living! As to why she would take such actions, Faslo pondered, perhaps she got wind of this project from Su Jiameng, but Miss Su destroyed the data too quickly, forcing her to target Snow, who was conducting similar research? Upon reflection, this seemed highly likely.

Both of them had the habit of securing their research data, and because they were low-key, even their families didn’t know about the research projects, let alone outsiders. The only possibility was that she got the information from Su Jiameng...

Meanwhile, Su Jiameng, accompanied by Lucy, went to that workshop that had been closed for seven or eight years. It had a large area, neatly filled with many mechanical parts, enough to assemble home service robots. And judging by their numbers, they could make a lot.

”Xiao Meng, don’t worry, with me around, the price will definitely be fair!” Lucy brazenly patted Su Jiameng on the shoulder and said, ”After all, this place has been closed for so many years; it’s normal for the price to be low.”

Although called an ordinary shop, it was more like a small inn.

Su Jiameng pondered for a long time, dividing the entire shop into four parts: a reception area, a kitchen, a warehouse, and a packaging and logistics area, redesigning the entire layout until she was satisfied.

As for the shop’s transfer, she planned to discuss it thoroughly with Faslo in the evening. The most critical thing now was to procure all the items needed to open the shop. A full set of kitchen utensils was indispensable, and various food supplies needed to be sourced...

After a busy afternoon, Su Jiameng felt somewhat fatigued, while Lucy remained enthusiastic.

Indeed, this body’s constitution was still too weak, otherwise, she wouldn’t be so worn out. In her fatigue, she never expected to receive such news from Faslo.

Someone was gradually hoarding discarded energy blocks and trying to approach Snow to buy the project’s research results...

”You must be joking, right?” Su Jiameng couldn’t believe this reality, facing Faslo with a face full of ”perhaps you leaked the information,” feeling embarrassed and once again chagrined at her tendency to bite off more than she could chew.

”I hope it’s a joke too, but based on previous investigations, the other party definitely has an agenda. As for what actions they’re targeting, you should be able to guess.”

Faslo was a bit helpless; he was only passionate about design, occasionally researching things that interested him. How did he get involved in such matters? ”Can you tell me now, if the research results were leaked, what would be the consequences?”

He needed to plan subsequent actions based on the severity of the results. If things went south, they could stop the research project altogether.

Su Jiameng turned her head, her gaze falling to the side, ”It would trigger a war. Whoever gets the project’s results would become the target of everyone.”

Trigger a war? Faslo, who grew up well-versed in interstellar history, naturally knew how far this term had been from them for years. Could the peace maintained for so many years really be shattered by a research project born from happenstance? That was quite mind-boggling.

”In any case, be careful, don’t lose any data.” Su Jiameng felt she also needed to pay attention to that person.

Though not certain yet, all signs indicated that person knew about secondary energy technology and its power, intending to monopolize the technology before anyone else!

As of now, they hadn’t even come up with a preliminary template for secondary energy technology. Who could know its true potential? Could that person have some foresight, knowing the immense benefits this technology could bring?

But that didn’t make sense; if they truly had foresight, they would seek out Su Jiameng instead of Snow. After all, Su Jiameng had the complete and mature technology, while Snow had just begun to scratch the surface, not even reaching the threshold.

Various thoughts flooded her mind in an instant; she was eager to find out who exactly that person was, and why they knew about technology unsuited for this era’s stage. Was it a coincidence or was there more to the story?

She closed her eyes in deep thought, suddenly remembering the ”Princess Fusu” she discovered in Nocturnal Song City that day... (To be continued.
